There was no mistaking young Rene-Charles' famous lineage when he joined his parents at a special ceremony this week. Standing alongside his mom Celine Dion to proudly watch dad Rene Angelil receive the National Order of Quebec honour on Wednesday, the similarities between the eight-year-old and his mother were clear.

But all eyes were on music manager Rene senior at the event, who was being honoured with the prestigious order of merit alongside 30 other people including former Canadian hockey player Mario Lemieux.

Following in his wife's footsteps – Celine received the distinction in 1998 – the 67-year-old joined the ranks as an officer of the national order, conferred on men and women for outstanding achievements who were born or are living in Quebec.

"It's a great honour," said the Montreal-born former pop star, who was also supported by his daughter from his second marriage, Anne-Marie, and son-in-law Marc Dupre. "I'm touched, I'm very proud to be a Quebecer."

Established in 1984, the Order, known officially by its French name, Ordre National du Quebec, is bestowed by the provincial government and is one of the most prestigious honours in Quebec. Non-Quebecers can also be inducted to honour their friendship to the province.

I'd like also to add something about this conversation about RC's hair. I guess, it's not something nice to keep saying all those things about his hair ---- he is just a a little boy -- well not that little anymore heheh but still a 8 years old boy and I bet that most of you do not judge or say things about the hair of the children around you. It's not because he is a "famous" little boy that every body thinks that you have the right to say those things --- even about Celine too.
Anyway, that's all about that.

Thanks for the screencaps everyone! It's great to see this event. I think they all look GREAT. Rene looked a little tired in some of the pictures of the presentation (hey he IS in his sixties) but he looked more vibrant in the family pictures after the ceremony.

Celine and RC looked great too. Personally, although I don't like to get into the RC hair debate, I think it looks better the way it is now. As long as HE is happy with it.

It's great to see them all at this event.

Let me just say that I loved Celine's make up. She looks younger and very natural. The eyes looks clear but still so alive! Loved it!

They can't keep from looking at her hehe. She is "effortlessly striking." Finally the shoes!   I like RC's sneakers.   These pictures are beautiful of them! I always love how Céline's eyes stand out, the first thing you notice when you look at her face....I need to know what false eyelashes she uses/mascara hehe.
