So, I need to get more organized and sum up what's been decided on here. Here's what we have so far:
Date: Friday, February 13, 2009
Morning: Charlemagne trip
Meeting time: 10am
Where: yet to be decided, but will be somewhere downtown
Transportation: We will need everyone to speak up if they have a vehicle or if they are willing to rent one. I will have one (my mom's probably) and will split the cost of renting a mini-van. I know the Italians (11 of them) said they would be willing to rent as well, and Shea said she'd chip in, and Andray said he would drive as well.
It will take about a 1/2hr to 45 mins to get there
Tour of Charlemagne by Veronique (if she still wants to be our guide), or just float around town on your own. It is a small little community so it won't take long to see the sights there. Sights will include: The Celine Monument (Celine Globe), Celine's family home, her old school, drive by Town Hall & Church, and of course the newbies will want pics of the street signs too (Boulevard Celine Dion).
Leave Charlemagne: 11:45am & drive back to city. Then meet at Nickel's Restaurant for lunch.
Afternoon: Lunch at Nickel's
Why: Celine & Rene were partners in this Restaurant chain (now franchise) when it first opened. Celine helped design the uniforms & maman even sewed the first few I'm led to believe. Some of Celine's memorabilia still hangs on the walls here and there is a delicious Celine Chocolate Cake on the menu. Celine was interviewed in one of them (at least once); I'm not sure which location.
Where: Place Dupuis Location
When: 12:30pm
Transportation: Most of us will be driving from Charlemagne; for those not coming in the AM I'm sure there is a metro station close by, probably Berri/Uqam. Andray, you can correct me here, lol AND I'll confirm that.
Duration: As long as we feel like hanging out there.
Later Afternoon: Touring Old Montreal
For those who want to see the Notre Dame Basillica where Celine & Rene married & RC was baptized, and if weather permits stroll around to see more of this beautiful Old City.
Evening: Dinner is optional but I'm willing to keep the party going here, lol. If some of us are still together we can have dinner in Old Montreal or somewhere downtown. There are many places to eat, so this doesn't need any planning.
Late Evening: Check out Montreal's Night Life
Whether we're still together or you want to meet up with some of us again for an after dinner drink, let's check out some of Montreal's clubs. I'm a total virgin in this area, but if there's no Montreal experts in our crowd at this point I have my brother to call on. He's an expert of everything downtown and will lead us in the right direction. And don't worry, we won't leave anyone alone especially if you've had too much to drink. My hope is that we'll be respectful to each other and not get out of control.
THE END....my goodness it had to end, didn't it?! That's quite a morning/afternoon/evening/late evening!
Any and ALL feedback is greatly appreciated!!

We get into town around seven on the train. Our friend gets in around four on the same day. I heard that the trains get in late often so I am expecting more like 8 or 9 for Lib and me. We are down to go out with you guys, I really would like to meet you all.
Uh but some problems lol.
I am not 21 and neither is our friend. I heard the drinking age is 18 though...
Also Lib and I aren't big into bars and drinking, but we would love to come out with you guys to a club with dancing or something else besides drinking. Is anyone planning on going to clubs?
But we want to meet everyone regardless of the day or times so Saturday or Sunday before the shows if there is anything going on we'll come!
Wake up everybody no more sleeping in bed
No more backward thinking time for thinking ahead
The world has changed so very much
From what it used to be
There is so much hatred war and poverty
Wake up all the teachers time to teach a new way
Maybe then they'll listen to what you have to say
Cause they're the ones who's coming up and the world is in their hands
When you teach the children teach them the best you can.
The world won't get no better if we just let it be
The world won't get no better we gotta change it
So make a change www.thehungersite.com

Gracias a mi amiga, Emily!

But... don't you think that we don't have enough time to visit Charlemagne?? Consider the fact the we're a big group, so we're going to lose a lot of time for the meeting, for organize everybody etc...

Hey lady,
Now that's exactly the kind of feedback I've been looking for, lol! I was thinking the same thing when I was making up this tentative schedule. I think an hour will be enough time to get everything in because it is so small there, but I am willing to meet earlier no problem.
What do you think about 9 or 9:30am for a meeting time for the Charlemagne tourists? Remember people, you can sleep in on the other days, LOL!

Depending on the number of people will be with us, 1h00 it's probably ok for the complete tour of Charlemagne. It's takes 30-45 min. max to do the hole old Charlemagne, walking. But we don't have to do the hole tour.
- The house, The monument, the 3 schools (all in one same place) the chruch, the cake shop, the town hall, and if someone wants to we can go to the hospital were she was born. that's pretty all we have to see, and we can do all walking and it would take 30-45 min. max. it can be longer if we do much talk.
So that's the planning. Can't wait to see all of you.

Hi ALL, This is sooo exciting!! What a trip we're gonna have, huh!!! """
Thanks for the offer for Tam, however she meant that she will have a car with two extra seats. So now we know you have 2 seats available also then that is GREAT! We will need as many vehicles as possible here.
Don't worry everyone. I'll be summing up everything here and figuring out how many other vehicles we may need, etc. Then I'll try to get a deal from one of the rental places in Montreal. We'll make sure everyone gets a lift to Charlemagne.
Does anyone else have an opinion about the meeting time for Charlemagne? Should we keep it at 10am or go for 9:30am instead????
