Charice sang "Taking Chances" here earlier today. the host of the show said that they asked Charice to sing that song just 10 minutes before the show, and it was a good performance. in fairness to her, she nailed it.

I was listening to Charice, and realize that she has a great voice, but to tell you the truth, I just don't like her singing voice. I don't know why but she reminds me of a singer that has a great deal of power but the throatiness of her technique and well voice i think is very comparable to a lot of other people. I just don't see what all of the fuss is about really. i've listened to all her renditions, which are nice, but it just doesn't sink with me. I don't know but when i hear her sing the power of the dream, and because you loved me, it doesn't sound as good to me as other people make it out to be. Celine's versions are way way way better. I don't know let me know what you think.

I am really amazed by Charice. I find it no wonder that Céline is too.

There are so few singers nowadays with great voices.

One look in the charts and I can hardly find any...

Of course Céline's versions are better. She has way more experience than Charice. Her voice is nice but she has to work on her techniques.
I have more or less your opinion regarding all the trouble about her. But I think if David Foster takes care of her, she'll be better.

I kinda agree with you. I wish her the best of luck in a great career( Which will be having), but personally I dont particulary think her voice is that pleasant (to me). Its very powerful and she can hit amazing notes, but I just dont like the voice. She is only young and Im not being mean , she is great, not my taste though.....
Celine voice is much more feminine and sexyish i think. Charice isnt like this for me.
I would prefer to hear Celines rendition of a love song, rather than Charices.

Celine's voice is so unique - there is nothing like it! Charice sounds very similar to a lot of big-voiced divas around now, including Whitney, Leona and Alexandra (up and coming X factor talent!)
I way prefer Celine but I think that Charice has so much potential.

For her age, she is fantastic, no doubt she has a great voice. But to me, it seems as if she is always screaming. Like when she sang All By Myself, it sounded like she was trying to yell to China! Celine has a much softer, but more powerful voice. She is a good singer, but the sound is not as good for me as others.

She used to be pretty good, but her voice now sounds like a man and she just keeps getting lower and lower as she get's older. Before you know it she'll be singing so low only whales will be able to hear her. Poor Mariah will have to always listen to her forever

charice has a great voice but I think most of the spark is due to her age. in actuality she just sounds like a lot of the typical big-voiced soul divas.  

as for what I think of the her-and-celine thing, at first I thought it was cute and nice of celine..but now it seems charice is becoming somewhat of a celeb-whore. after celine she meets mariah and says straight out I wanna sing with you..then wants to meet whitney after that undoubtedly. then she was quoted as wanting to sing next with justin timberlake.  and then miley cirus and david archuleta. and etc etc.

nothing wrong with any of that. just..bleh. i'm over it.   it's about time she starts recording an album and doing her own stuff and building her own career rather than just appearing w/ celebs she admires.  then again if oprah's going want to manage her as I've heard maybe this is her way of promo

Yes when she was younger her voice sounded so exceptional. I think that is owing to the fact that her tone was more consistent unlike now that the disparity between her low and high notes are very wide. I don't agree though that her voice is getting lower maybe you mean fuller. To prove my point, here is a young video of her where she won the wildcard to get back into the contest. It's in her dialect though but the notes on this song are just incredible:

To me, Connie Talbot is as annoying as the horror that was Bessie Cursons! I know it sounds bad to say that about young kids but I couldn't stand them.

To me, Connie Talbot is as annoying as the horror that was Bessie Cursons! I know it sounds bad to say that about young kids but I couldn't stand them.  

Connie just sounds .. well .. her career should NOT be in singing
