Hi everyone!
Like several of you, I just got back from the first show in Montreal (and can't sleep... too AMAZED!)
I haven't seen Celine live since 1998, but I once again was blown away tonight. I now live in Montreal (indirectly because of Celine - long story) so I was thrilled to be there opening night amongst her "home crowd." The emotion was running high. Celine teared up several times and seemed to be especially enthusiastic during her French songs, particularly J'irai ou tu iras and S'il suffisait... I loved her entire set list although the rock-n-roll Celine (Alone, The Show Must Go On, etc.) still takes 2nd place to "Classic Power Diva Celine"; The Power of Love, Pour Que tu m'aimes encore, All By Myself, etc., are still the highlights of her show.
I was up in the 100 level but those were great seats. Unfortunately I was kind of on the south side (I think???) so I wasn't out where the stage jutted out into the crowd. I thought it was so sweet when she took the hand of a woman in the audience during S'il suffisait d'aimer and they sang together.
Celine was visibly moved by the energy in Montreal tonight - it was hard not to be moved by it all.
Really amazing! There simply is no one out there more talented - with both an amazing voice and stage presence - than Celine.
It was also so sweet and testament to her kind personality that she ended the concert by walking briefly amongst the fans on the floor. she treats all of her fans with such respect.
Before the concert started I also saw her mom sit down and Rene-Charles with one of her brothers (don't remember which one he is). It's so lovely that her family is so supportive and were there with her on her big night in Montreal.
I see the concert again on Tues. but up in the 400 level. I still think it will be amazing. Then I hope to get floor seats for February.
(Also... by the way, I think this is my 1st post on here but I've been registered for a while and occassionally drop in and lurk. Hi to all.)
