Hihi, I tried a new class today, "Strip aerobic"!! :D But it was a lot of fun actually, even though I was a little afraid before the class, how it will be and how I will manage it.. But it wasn't bad at all. It was fun cause there were choreographies for every song, so again I felt like we were in a dance class (even though I couldn't yet follow every move as it was the first time :D). :) And cause after all it wasn't TOO "flirty" and stuff, which I was afraid of.. So I think I might actually go there again next week! :D

The obligatory rest day tomorrow.....  :glare: I would so much want to go running or something tomorrow too, but I've already worked out 6 days in a row, and then beginning from Sunday there are classes I wanna attend every day, for another 6 days in a row, so I have no choice but to rest tomorrow.

^ Yeah it was interesting! :D And I think it really helps you develop your suppleness, if you go there regularly. :) I mean, even though I do stretches every night, in the class I once again noticed how unsupple I am.. Though part of it has to do with genes too, some people are more supple than others. :)

Good for you, the treadmill workout! :) And yeah the after feeling is always the best! ;) Though I really enjoy the feeling during the workout too! :D Actually I always feel how the enjoyment starts already before the class (or other workout) and then it just grows and grows during the workout and then after the workout, you get this unbelievable happiness and satisfied feeling. :D

Finally tomorrow, BODYSTEEEEEP!!!  :heartbounce:  The excitement's growing already!!! :whee:

WOOOOOOHOOO IT'S ZUMBA&BALANCE -DAYYYY!!!!!!!!! :cheer: And yay for bodystep!! :D

Yeah I would!! I mean like once, just to see what the class would be like and experience that extreme exhaustion! The only times I've felt close to sick, so that the next "stage" would actually be throwing up, I've experienced in some extremely rough spinning classes.. Oh and also in a short distance running competition. :D But normally I don't want to have that feeling though!

So how were Zumba & Balance classes?? :) I also went to Zumba today! :D And then after I got home, I still had a little Bodystep session at home cause I still had so much energy, and also cause I just couldn't wait for tomorrow anymore!

Okay well maybe you should come and try :D I know people who actually enjoy that extreme exhaustion&almost throwing up...veeeery healthy thinking..

The classes were awesome as usual!! I had Zumba again yesterday. I just love it!! But I'm having a really bad penikkatauti (translation please  ), which always shows up in some part of my exercise. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm not using any shoes in Zumba classes and there's lots and lots of jumping and things like that. But I just can't dance with shoes on!! It's like, I've been a dancer for what, 10 years and I've never danced with shoes on unless it's street dance I'm dancing. But yeah. Last night I tried to massage my legs and it hurt sooooooo much. This morning it was a complete torture to walk to the kitchen for some breakfast! They really hurt a lot. Arrghhhhh I hate this!!! I'm missing Sh'bam and my dance practice tonight. AND I'm having my rest days, Friday&Saturday after that. So what, 3 days off???? -_- Aaaaarggggghhhh!!!

How was Bodystep?! :) kinda pointless to even ask that but anyway

I would wanna!! :D

Ouch, yeah I hear that can be a really painful thing..  I think it's "shin splint" in English. :D Anyway, I've had problems with my legs too, in my left shin especially. It started last spring when I started training more for running and at the same time, for a month I was working as a "papergirl", which included running up and down in the stairs, for several hours. So I guess the leg became over exhausted and that's when the pain started, for me too it got so worse for a while that it hurt even to walk, and it was just impossible to run even for a few metres. Well then I got rid of it in the summer, but it came back this fall, again after a more intense period of exercising... and now it hurts a little every now and then, but not all the time or not even every time, and not so much that I couldn't run or do Bodystep. :D But anyway, yeah I've heard too that massaging could help, or then some special stretches, have you tried stretching? And also I think that that could cause it too for you that you aren't wearing any shoes on the Zumba classes. Cause I think that my pain got a little better after I changed the shoes that I was using in Bodystep. I used to use these basic "aerobic shoes" in the class, but last summer I started using normal running shoes/sneakers, well cause Step sort of included running too, and I think it really helped! I think they are a lot better there than basic aerobic shoes, cause the aerobic shoes that I had, didn't have any "attenuation" or anything. Anyway, I know how annoying it is to have that pain!!   I hope you get rid of it!!

Oh and yeaah, Bodystep was grrrrreat!! :throb: As always, yes. :D
And YESS, I just found out that my favourite instructor (who doesn't have her own step class at the moment) is gonna substitute next Monday's Bodystep class!!! :D Yayy!  ^_^

I'm trying to have more endurance. I'm not looking for weight loss, it it happens along the way, that's great. I'm just looking to be healthy and have more endurance.

I'm starting to walk/jog every evening at least 3 miles. I was doing so good last night, until a dog started to chase me. LOL!     I lost my momentum and was not able to get it back! :(  I think I only did 2 miles.

Gotta make sure I fill up my iPod. I think a Celine work out mix is in order!!

^ That's great!! Well except for the dog chasing part on my runs.. scary!! :scared: I haven't yet been chased by a dog, FORTUNATELY. That would be like the most terrifying thing though...

I'm going to my first showdance class in an hour!! And I'm so NERVOUS (yet excited too!)!!  :-D Probably cause it's a new place for me and I don't know anyone there and they all are younger than me and they've started in the fall already AND because I'm not sure about my dancing skills. But, I want to go and try at least, cause I've been wanting to do some kind of dancing for so long! And if it's not really my thing, I don't have to go another time. :)

And I'm looking so much forward to tomorrow's Bodystep class! It's my favourite instructor's class, and it's been 2 months that she had the class!! I'm really expecting a fabulous class tomorrow!  :w00t:  Haha!

Yeaaah it's painful.. thanks for the translate :D Ouchhhh that sounds bad what you had/have! Don't you just hate those little things that really affect your training? Aaaargh. Well anyhow, I had those couple of rest days, (Thursday Friday Saturday) and I really tried, all those 3 days, to massage and strech them and tried the hot&cold therapy and well, everything.. But nothing seemed to work but I just couldn't miss Zumba&Bodybalance!!! ( ) Sooo I went there. I felt the pain before the class and I was massaging my legs before the class. They realllyyyy hurt. So when the class started, the instructor said that she just broke her toe on Saturday and she cried like a baby. But "she was in a veeeery good medication" so she thought she could come and have the classes :) It was so random!!! After half an hour, she said that the toe is hurting and she's just going to shout some instructions. And that was the moment when my legs started to hurt. But I just kept on jumping because it was like my favourite song that was on at the moment :D I think I should start wearing shoes. But it just feels so weird!! You just can't wear SHOES in ZUMBA. But it's good we are not even allowed to wear shoes in Balance. Yesterday's class was so awesome hahhaha everything was going well, then, it was like the last calming song playing, we were lying on the floor, the calming piano song was playing... then I see her walking towards me, I looked up and she looked at me and smiled, pass at me and went to "dim the lights". Then she went like "okay... breathe in... hmmm..... breathe out..... hmmmm.. whooops." And then the whole room was pitch-black and the music stopped. I tried to control my laugh but it was just one of those moments when you can't... So, she turned the power off. :D Maaaan I love her!

Have I told you how much it gives me energy when she is like this  :msn-wink: :msn-wink: :msn-wink:  at me for like half the class??? Woohhooh.

Bodystep!! I really should try it. My favourite instructor has her Bodystep45 class, then there's 15 minute break and then is her Zumba. I can't even imagine going to some other instructor's class so if I tried Bodystep, I'd definitely want to go to her class :P But then I'd miss Zumba!! I'd do it if the break between those classes would be a bit more longer than 15 minutes.. Maybe someday :) Oh wow lots of talking here :D

YEAH it is like super annoying when these little things come to affect your training!! Whether it's leg pain or cold or whatever. Before Christmas there was a period when it seemed that aaaall the time I had something! First the leg, then I got a cold which lasted like almost 10 days, well then after that was over I hurt my neck and I had to take it very easily for a while because of that... Though, sometimes I think that maybe those things are also your body's way to tell you to take it easier sometimes..?  :giggle: Well at least they teach you to really appreciate the time when you're ok and nothing's hurting! ;) But I really hope you get rid of the leg pain soon.... I know it's so annoying (and painful!). :(
Oh and about Zumba and shoes, weell hehe, I wear shoes in Zumba. :P But I see some people who don't and I guess it's different when you're a dancer, like you. :) I on the other hand couldn't really imagine doing it without shoes. But that's probably cause I'm more of a runner and a "Bodystep girl" myself, lol. :D

Hah, and it's just so funny when the instructors sometimes "mess up"! Like a few weeks ago in a Bodypump class (not my favourite one but in another), we were doing abs and it was the first time for this instructor with this new release. Well then I noticed at one point that we were doing one move one extra time, which caused that we were late with the rest of the moves, but the instructor didn't realize it. Then, it was so funny, cause in the end in the abs track there's this side hoover thing that you do for both sides. Well, as we had just turned to the other side and the instructor was just about to tell us to lift our arms up, I knew that the track would end like NOW, and then it did, and the instructor was like, "hmm ok.. something didn't go quite right now"    And I just couldn't help but laugh cause it was so funny cause I had seen it coming all the time!   But seriously those are like some of the best moments in the classes! :D

Oh and one thing still about yesterday's Bodystep class.. Talk about INTENSE! Wow, we did this Bootcamp version in the end of the class, which means like 7 minutes this really extreme and intense traininig and then the "final peak" track in top of it all, so altogether it makes 12 minutes of really extreme training. I believe the Bootcamp might be a little something close to the HukkaArmy thing, but just a shorter version of it. For 7 minutes straight you do 5 different moves (with a weight) and in the end of each move it really starts to feel like you just can't do it anymore (if you really take everything out of it and really DO it!), and then it stops (phew). And THEN you still have to find the energy to do the final peak... I think my heart rate was at it's peak for 12 minutes straight yesterday. It's like, it's so rough that at the same time I hate it and I love it! :D

Well today it's Bodypump and tomorrow Bodystep again! These three first days of the week are always my favourite training days!  ^_^

Ok I was just going through these previous posts and suddenly noticed that I've written complete nonsense up there. That part of the sentence is in a completely wrong place. It should have been in the second one -> I haven't yet been chased by a dog on my runs.
Not that anyone even cares but I just had to correct it as I happened to notice it.

Yeah the pain really makes you appreciate the healthy days. :) Speaking about that, I went to the masseuse today.. I was kinda terrified :D So I went there and was supposed to get only my legs massaged. Well as I told her about my tension in my neck and shoulders, she decided to massage my upper body too. And I mean....... OOOOUUUCHHHH!! I knew I had some tension there and especially the pain in my shoulder area makes me all numb and gives me migraines and other nice things. But anyway, I didn't even know the muscles in my back were tense. Well they were..  Practically my whole body was. Then she moved on to the legs and my gosh the PAIN!! She tried to be really gentle, used lots of cold gel to help with the swelling. She got the shin splint (? :D ) away which was great but I still have this one muscle in my right leg that's so sore. It hurts as I walk but not when I'm dancing. Which is really weird. But I'm glad it's like that :P The masseuse told me to give myself time to recover and that I should relax for at least a week now. I really don't want to!! And I can't! I'm having Zumba tomorrow, but I really don't know. If I don't go tomorrow, it means I'd have to wait 'til Sunday! But if I go tomorrow, it means I should first walk for like 5 kilometers, hit the gym and walk the 5 km back. And I can't go by bike because it's like -35 degrees out there :D Hmhhh should I go or not?

Haha makes sense :D It feels weird for me to wear shoes in any fitness classes! Even if it's Bodypump or Bodystep. I'm too much of a dancer I guess :D

Hahhaaa!! Yeah totally spices up the classes.. She messed up again. Almost the same thing with you&your instructor! There was a new song playing and it was coming to an end, and she was like "OKAYYYY LET'S PREPARE FOR THE LAST POSE... 4, 3, 2, 1, BOOM! ..... oh right..... Lallalalalaaaa Iiii knewwww this was goinnnggg tooo haappeeeennn......"  :roll2:

That sounds so intense!! You make it sound so awesome. So sure you'd love HukkaArmy and it wouldn't even be enough for you :P

I just realized today how I'm really the one who's ruined my legs. I mean, 10 years. Hard rock floor + bare feet... Some postural distortions that haven't been taken care of. Bad bad bad... I'm going to this Foot Balance thingy and they'll make me new insoles for my shoes that really mach my feet. Hope this works out fine  :)

Oh, I was in Bodypump yesterday, and it was such a nice class!! Again. :D No but yesterday it was actually even nicer than usually, it was my favourite instructor's class again and now it felt a bit like in the "good old times", haha! :D Actually I'm not sure whether I should post this on this thread or on a certain other one, but Anniina you know which instructor I'm talking about so I might as well post here, cause it's about the class anyway and cause I just want to share it with someone who knows about everything that's happened in the past! ;)
Well anyway the class was GREAT, I love it cause she always plays the music loud enough (a very important thing I think!) and she's always giving technique tips throughout the class, and she's just so inspiring! Then, she said that next week she would take some mixed tracks on the class (which I always like)! It was fun, in the beginning, right before the class started, she asked us whether we want to have some mixed tracks or keep this release until the new one comes. And of course usually in the classes, no one answers to these questions... everyone's just silent. Well then I waited a few seconds and then I said "mixed tracks!". And she was like, "Ok!", and then she continued "With me you win if you open your mouth". Hahaha. And then later in the class, we were doing lunges and there's this optional move in the end of it, "propulsive lunge" where you like jump in the air (I'm sure Anniina you know it since you've been to Bodypump). At the beginning when this release came, I didn't do it, but I've started doing it nowadays. And so I was jumping now too (I had even practised at home, how to do it properly ), and then hihi, it was nice cause in the middle of the class she said like "Rea at least is jumping, good!", looking at me and smiling. :) Heeh, made me feel good and I left the class really happy yesterday! :) (Felt like things are good. :) ) And in every other way too I had a great workout, I added some weights and felt like super strong yesterday!
And I've started doing push ups at home, once a week I do 100 push ups (with pauses in between, but my goal is to do them without pauses by summer :D), in addition to other workouts, and I already notice that that is already giving me more strength in Bodypump as well! It feels great! :)

Good thing you're going to the Foot Balance thing and you get new insoles for your shoes. I've heard that's often a solution to people's leg pains! I actually should go to that thing too, been meaning to do so for a loooong time... But right now it seems that my leg pain is on a hold for a change! ;) It hasn't really been hurting. I wonder whether it'll start again once I start running more in the spring, but.... oh well, I don't wanna worry about that yet. Oh and good that you went to the massage too! It's ALSO something I should consider. :D But I never go. Oh, and yeah I know it's weird how something hurts only in some movements, but not when doing something else! I guess the dancing movements just differ so much from walking.. It's the same with my back and walking and running. I can't really walk for more than an hour, cause my lower back starts to hurt so much after that, I mean it gets all jammed and I feel like I'm forced to bend over or otherwise it will break. :D I mean that's what it feels like. But when I run, there's absolutely nothing! I ran the the half marathon last summer and there was absolutely no problem with my back. But walking for long enough makes it hurt... I guess it has to do with the position.

So did you end up going to Zumba?!?! :)
(And wow that's COLD!!! All of a sudden the -16 degrees in here don't feel so cold anymore :D)

Oh, almost forgot, BODYSTEP TODAY!  :w00t:

Hihhii I'm going to Bodypump and Sh'bam today :) !!!! Oooh I totally know who you're talking about :P and when I'm talking about my favourite instructor here, I mean really, FAVOURITE  :blushing1: :whistling:  (we're really friends in Facebook now hiihhihi! ^_^ ) I totally understand! The music HAS to be LOUD! And the bass too. That's like one of the things that gives you the adrenaline rush :D And aww she knows you by name? :) that's great you two are okay.

100 push ups??? The harder ones?? Holy sh*t

Yeaaaappp this is where you notice how you really should wear the right shoes... You don't notice it when you walk only short distance walks but when the daily 8-10km happens... you really see the impact your shoes have! But shoes in Zumba arghhh no

YESSS I WENT TO ZUMBA :) And I went yesterday too! Aeeehhh I think that my friend request on FB might have given her some kicks or something. We had this constant eye contact through the class and the eye winking for God's sake   ... pretty much driving me crazy. Her mic broke yesterday so she was just screaming and shouting the instructions..so I asked her on Wednesday what was this one song and I said that it's awesome, she agreed and went absolutely nuts.. she was growling.. "IT'S SOOO GOOOOOODDDDD I KNOWWWW!!!!" So when that song started to play yesterday and I was doing some moves I caught her looking at me and nodding her head! Then she winked at me and said "Hyväääää!" = "Goooood!" hihhii. Wooooooo sometimeeees I get a good feeling, yeaah :) ....

Yeah it's cold. It was like -40 degrees in Kuusamo, which isn't far away from where I live :D Today it was like -20 with a huge snow storm and I was like "what the f*ck it's WARM in here!!"

Oohhoo yess she knows me by name alright. ;) We've been FB friends for 2 years. ;) And.. well, it would be really weird if she didn't! :D
But yeah, music definitely has to be loud, I too think that it's actually the most important thing in the class!! You're so right about the adrenaline rush!! It just doesn't feel the same if the music isn't loud enough! I mean, what's the fun in it then!? :D

Yes, 100 push ups! :D And yes the harder ones! Currently I do them divided into smaller bits, so that I do like for example 25+25+20+15+15, but little by little I will try to do longer and longer bits, like next could be 25+25+25+25, then 35+35+30 etc. so that by summer I could do 100 straight with no pauses! :D That's the goal!! I think it's such an amazing exercise too, I mean doing push ups, really shapes up your upper body and gives you more strenght! :)

Sounds like one amazing Zumba class you had there!!! ;) Awesome! :D
Also, what's Sh'bam like?? :) I mean I've seen some ads about it, and I've understood that it's a bit like Zumba..? Do you agree? :D We don't have it in our gym at the moment, I don't know whether we will at some point..

Well I was on Bodypump today again as usual, and wohoo, an awesome workout, as always! The shoulder track of this release is like SO rough! But I love it!! Also I love the lunge track! Though today she had some mixings, so she didn't play the current lunge track anymore. Anyway, I really love the after feeling of a good muscle workout! :D

Yayyyy, Bodystep again tomorrow and then Zumba on Thursday! :)

Wowh, we had this special Valentine's Day Bodypump class yesterday, "BunnyPump" :D which was held by two instructors who had dressed like bunnygirls.. Anyway, I had an aaaaawesome workout, cause they had picked up different old songs from previous BP releases, which had like a "love" theme or something. :) And wow, when the back track started, I literally had chills down my spine.... ooh! I didn't recognize it from the start bass thing (cause quite many back tracks have had that bass beat..), but when the track actually started, OH MY GOD. It was my FAVOURITE back track ever, from a 6 years old release, that I have been longing for ever since!!  :w00t:  The song was Everytime We Touch (by Cascada), and seriously, like I said I had chills and I almost even teared up a bit, cause the feeling was just so overwhelming.....! Cause I have been missing that release so much in the past and the song is amaaaazing and cause it was such a surprise, I mean I would've never thought anyone would play it ever again!! I had to tell the instructors after the class that I was really happy about the back track and had chills when it started! :D And of course I then kept listening to the song all evening long at home..  :-D
I love these super feelings that you get from working out! It's the best!  ^_^

How's everyone else's training going? ;)

How awesome! After a difficult semester, I've just now resumed my diet and exercise routine. It's the worst feeling ever when you are doing so good, quit, and have to start again!!

I ran 5 miles today and did a pilates class. I begin strength traning work tmrw!  :whee:

Yeah I know! It's the same when your working out is going awesome and then you get a flu or something and have to quit and resume... But don't worry, you'll get back in shape in no time I believe!! ;) Luckily it usually happens quite fast after all. ;)
And :thumbsup2: for the run!

I'm thinking about changing today's Bodypump class to a spinning class, cause I just found out that there's gonna be a substitute instructor on the Bodypump class..  :hmm:  And it's not the same with the substitute.. :P So then I could go to Bodypump tomorrow.. or do push ups at home. :D
