Do you do any work-out routines, physical exercises, workout, yoga, pilates, or etc.?

I would like to know what you like to do and how disciplined you are.

Physical health is so important.

I did my workout today, and I think I worked myself too hard, because now I have a headache...

Hu oh, headaches are no good. But I do work out from time to time. Not a lot at once, but a few sit-ups here and some push-ups there. Then, if I'm in the move, I kick out some dancing!  :P

I've been here since the start of the forum, and at night when there's nothing to do and no where to go... I end up at the computer, but trust me, I still get up like every 10 minutes  :P

Over the years, I would work out for a few months, take maybe a year off, then resume working out for some months, got lazy and realized that it's a waste of time since I couldn't keep up with the routines. My gym membership expired last month, wish I had the $ to continue. Working out boosts one's confidence and energizes :flex: :showoff:

Oh and I also walk 2-3 miles/day for at least several days a week, beats public transportation :P

I work out every day, as part of an exercise plan I have had since the start of this year, it's not crazy, just healthy eating and regular exercise. I ride a bike, go for walks, jogs, runs and sometimes I do weights with a friend of mine :)

I struggled for a long time with my physical appearance, and it took me a damn long time and some internal strife to really realise that I couldn't go on as I did, and I had to fight for what I wanted and conquer my demons. The war isn't over yet, but I think I've won some important battles so far.

I'd like to bump this topic. I'd like to know what people workout/exercise with all the new members! I work at the YMCA (again) and working on getting my fitness instructor position back. I hate when people say this, but I found myself saying this almost all the time: "I love to workout. It's a passion of mine and I feel amazing doing it."

I used to teach a couple of fitness classes at my local YMCA pre-broken ankle and am getting back into it. 1 class that I can think of is called "Group Power" perhaps somebody has heard of it?

Here is a small trailer:

Simply viewing this doesn't show you how amazing the class actually is until you experience it first hand, and with me teaching it I might add... lol jk  Basically it is about working all 8 major muscle groups to a 4-5 minute song and class lasts approx. 1 hour. It's a great way for newbies to not only begin to work out and build muscle/lose weight, but to learn of the importance of "lifting" itself, and the fact that the smallest mistake can result in a(n) injury or worse. (Definitely consider joining the class for everybody with a YMCA around you! You might find it's a great motivator for everyone who needs a little motivation to get fit!)

But enough about that, I really hope others share this passion of mine and my goal is for this topic to basically turn into a full-blown health thread where we can share tips, routines, etc!

 A lot of older topics are coming to life again. I think people are bored because there are not a lot of Celine news at the moment.

When I was is school, I was very fit. Played netball and hockey. I also ran the 100m and relay during the athletics season (yes Vic, when I'm fit, you might have some trouble catching me after all :P ). Now I only play Netball during the winter for a club and I swim a lot in the summer. I guess when you start studying, you kind of lose interest, unless you major in sport related subjects.

I'm glad to see you have and interest in running! (I do my best to run my weekly goal, which is 25 miles.) I'm not making it yet but it should start soon.  :giggle:

I commend you for playing hockey! I wouldn't ever be able to do that I'm always scared the puck would hit me in the face. I don't like sports ironically enough, but standard workouts I do.  :kicking: :xmas_laugh:

 We don't play hockey on ice in SA. I have never even seen snow in my life... :P We play hockey on grass and with a ball.  :thumbsup2:

Edit: I don't like running far. :giggle: That is why I was good with sprints, it was quick and then it is over. My mom use to make me jog because she believed that if you are fit and stuff, it would increase your speed. I couldn't care less. I hated it, but I loved competing and the relay was my favourite part. I use to start because I was the quickest out of the blocks, but it is a team thing, which made it fun. I miss it sometimes...

I exercis around every 2 days. Except for on Friday when I have Hip-Hop dance class(and it's HARD!!). I normally jog around my block and do one of my mum's exercise videos. Here we have Fit TV and on the weekends I do In Shape with Sharon Mann and I do other things like a little yoga in the morning. My mum and dad say that I need 2 get stronger though because I'm the weakest out of all of my friends and my teacher's 8 year old daughter beats me at arm wrestling. And I can't even do 1 pull up. But I'm very good at curl ups and sit ups.
You'll never see the courage i know. It's colours richness won't appear within your view. I'll never glow the way that you glow. Your presence dominates the judgements made on you.

But as the scenery grows, I see in different lights. The shades and shadow undulate in my perception. My feelings swell and strech, I see from greater heights. I understand what I am still too proud to mention to you.

You'll say you understand. But you don't understand. You'll say you'd never give up seeing eye to eye. But never is a promise and you can't afford to lie.

You'll never touch the things that I hold. The skin of my emotions lies beneath my own. You'll never feel the heat of this soul. My fever burns me deeper than I've ever shown.

But as the scenery grows, I see in different lights. The shades and shadows undulate in my perception. My feelings swell and strech, I see from greater heights. I realize what i am now too smart to mention to you.

You'll say you understand. You'll never understand. I'll say I'll never wake up knowing how or why. I don't know what to believe in. You don't know who I am. You'll say I need appeasing when i start to cry. But never is a promise and I'll never need a lie.

I have to used one of my friends game for XBOX to dance and burn cardio. Thank goodness for these games and Wii.  :thumbsup2:

I just love dancing! It really boosts you up and I myself am always full of adrenaline during dancing and it really is HARD. Well, depends on what kind of a style you are working on.. Note to self, never dance ballet after a long break from exercising...

And BodyPump is awesome too! Results show almost immediately. And it's so much more fun than pumping your muscles in a gym. And Zumba is great too! I burned 1000 kcal in one hour, and it didn't even feel like exercising. Love it! :)

Normally I exercise 6 days a week - 3 days of weight lifting, 2 days of IT cardio and 1 day of "ordinary" cardio, usually one of Sean T's workouts. IT stands for Interval Training and NOT Information Technologies. ;)
Used to do 6 days of cardio too, but lately I've been feeling kind of sluggish, probably because of the winter and the long break due to the broken ankle. My goal is to hit digital numbers by this summer as far as my body fat percentage is concerned. :D

Zumba is quite fun! I'm liking it! I've tried it @ my University and I like it more and more each time! (I always get excited when I find a new workout I like. :) )

Zumba is quite fun! I'm liking it! I've tried it @ my University and I like it more and more each time! (I always get excited when I find a new workout I like. :) )

Zumba is awesome! And the fact that nobody's watching you and you can just goof around as much as you like there, everyone's in their own world

I've never heard of "Sean T's" workout before.   :blushing1:

He's the instructor/creator of several fitness programes, such as Hip Hop Abs, Rockin' Body and Insanity. His dance cardio workouts in Rockin Body and Hip Hop Abs are really fun!

Do you think this is a good way of exercising? I always skip those Sculpt & Tone sections on workout DVDs simply because it seems more logical to me to divide cardio and strengh training. If I want to work my muscles I focus on them and I hit them hard, that's the purpose of it - building muscle. Cardio, on the other hand, is all about helping to create the calorie deficit (as far as the body image and weight loss are concerned)...It appears to me that combining them like that is like trying to kill 2 birds with 1 stone which never ends well...
