3/14/07 - The Celine concert that almost was

from her Road Book:
Quote
I am alluding to a very special piece of news... Let’s see...
A new album? No.
A movie?... Soon, but no !
A play? More details? And...no...
A new collaboration with Dave S. or Glen B.? ...Hummm, yes but no...
What could it be?
Well, a clue... The end of my singing tour, the end of a concert, a sentence thrown at the end of a song... Almost a declaration which turns out to be a prophecy... End of suspense...
I am pregnant...
Humm...Yes... It is TRUE...
Stolen photos, I don’t care... It is a habit... And we cannot prevent this from happening... This would prevent that... (We understand each other).
Let's get back to this piece of information, it is a nice little rounded tummy in which a little baby girl is growing... 5 months of pregnancy and I haven't had bouts of morning sickness I couldn't deal with, no cravings for broccolis with cheddar at 4am either... I am in pretty good shape... Shape of a pear... but in good shape...
I wanted to share my happiness and enthusiasm with you... It is for me the most beautiful piece of news I could announce you...
About discovering, I could suggest books but it would not be a novel or an essay but literature dealing with Babies... So for this month, I pass...
Music? I’m listening to EURYTMICS again. Working with Dave made me feel like to listen to them.
If you ever go to L.A where I’ve just come back from... pop over to Santa Monica and stroll along the Third Avenue and have breakfast in one of their colourful cafés... Happiness Guaranteed!
Best regards
Lara

Time flies... I hadn't realized it had been ages since last time I wrote to you ... Sorry...
So I wish you lots of joy, sparks, fireworks, and lots of eclectic happiness...
I hope your Christmas was filled with gifts and food...
Our Christmas tree was simple but colourful. The gifts beautiful. I received a small digital home studio and a new microphone, so I slowly but surely go back to work...
While I am starting to learn to be an engineer, I'm thinking about these new songs I have already written and those I will be writing... I miss you a lot...
I did a lot of things we usually do at home while resting...
I watched an extraordinary series during this holiday... Rome. If you are fond of History, you must watch it, even though it is sometimes “hard”, it is also very realistic according to specialists. The characters' tribulations are disturbing, but the analysis of the Human kind very incisive...
Regarding music, I listened again to David Lynx, a Belgian artist who moves in a world where musicality comes first. He uses his voice like a genuine virtuoso. You have to listen to him or discover him...
As for books, I haven't been very available so if you have any ideas, don't hesitate... Thank you...
I also went to Turkey for “ concert –conference” . It is a great concept. In few words, we sing a few songs and we travel through an artist's route with questions and stories... All this was exceptionally conducted by a guy named BJ, whose questions and orientation gave a very interesting and new angle... I don't know if you see the idea, but imagine an interview driven by Lipton, doubled with MTV unplugged and you have the concept of “A wonderful Life”, the name of this very concept. I really liked it and I wonder if you would like it too... It is not broadcasted but based on high technology, it is very pleasant to do something unique which cannot be seen nor done again.. Carpe Diem by excellence... I loooovve it...
I should go back to Russia soon, and I should go to Sicilia on a private trip. I will bring you back some “Cannoli” and some pieces of sea... Do you know what CANNOLI are? Hey... I cannot wait to read your ideas on the guest book... On your marks, get set, go and have a look in your Italian food dictionary My Angels...
On this sweet note, I'll chow for now.
From the bottom of my heart, I kiss you
Life is beautiful.
Your Lara
P.S: And what if I told you... .... See you soon, somewhere... I prefer...
is it me, or did they just took her french blog, run it through freetranslation.com and just posted it in the english sec tion?
I find it strange though that she doesn't mention her daughter at all

Let's say Celine has the voice of a bird, and Lara has the voice of a God! Or Lara has a "fat" voice, and Celine a "thin" one. Do you get it?
And in my opinion about voices, Lara's is better than Celine's. I just can't imagine Celine singing songs like Adagio, You're Not From Here, Love By Grace...
But I also agree that they have different voices, and THAT'S why Lara beats Celine. Compared to all the other females with "normal" voice as Celine, she wins.
The reason I prefer Celine is the full box. The voice, the stage presence, the sweetness...
Here it goes the BEST vocal performance I've ever seen in my whole life:

Love comes to those who believe it...
