Celine's Rose Posted December 3, 2005 at 02:21 AM Posted December 3, 2005 at 02:21 AM I just called 1877-4Celine to confirm the tickets that I bought for March because I still haven't received the confirmation e-mail from ticketmaster yet. After the automated voice got finished giving the introduction to the phone number, another lady's voice came on and said that if you are calling about tonight's show it has been canceled and to go back to where the tickets were purchased for a full refund/exchange. I wonder why it was canceled. I hope everything is alright with Celine and her family. Quote

stevethefan Posted December 3, 2005 at 11:17 PM Posted December 3, 2005 at 11:17 PM I was looking at some of the New Day ticket dates on Ticketmaster for 2006 and what I thought was weird is that it showed a cancelled show for right after 1/29/06, but it does not give what date the show was for. But I think that's around the time she is taking off time in February, so maybe she decided to take another day off. I'm not sure why December 2nd was cancelled, although again she's going to be taking a holiday break so maybe something came up regarding that. Quote

stevethefan Posted December 4, 2005 at 01:37 AM Posted December 4, 2005 at 01:37 AM I'm always amazed that someone can do a few hundreds shows a year like Celine and not really cancel that many times, from what I've seen. Everyone gets sick once in awhile, but most of us don't have to go out and try and sing in front of a large amount of people who paid good money to see a show. I think just the stress of that would me sick! So I really admire her for staying in shape and healthy for the performances. If I get a hangnail I want to call in sick! I guess I'm allergic to work. There were a group of us that had tickets to Friday's show (Orch 4 Row BB Seat 401-404), we went to the box office at about...2:30pm or so and picked the tickets. I actually had 1 extra ticket and I spent about 30 minutes trying to sell it but no one seemed to want it so I decided to just go back to the hotel and try some more later when I knew people would be lined up for standby tickets. Shortly after we got back to the hotel room (about 3:30pm), we got a call from one of our contacts at the box office. He sounded very casual about it and we actually thought he was joking. We figured that once we got to the box office he would say "just kidding!!! I was able to get you the upgrade to 1st row that you were asking for" So immediately after he told us that Celine had cancelled, I called the box office just to make sure. When I called I was told that she had a sinus infection and wouldn't be performing that night and my money for the tickets would be refunded to my credit card. I guess it was a good thing that no one bought the extra ticket because they would have lost the money since I would get refubded for it and I would have their money also. A little while later we got a call from another contact who told us that she was ok and he would let us know about Saturday's show. Once Saturday came around we were all able to get tickets for that night and got confirmation that she would be performing. I'll tell more about the show in a review soon.
