I need help making a Celine CD

Hi all,

 

My mom really loves G(TSW), and it happens that so does my neighbor. My mom suggested burnig a Celine CD for her. So, she likes songs like G(TSW), so I need your help on deciding which other songs she may like. Something like Goodbye's. I think she may like, "Miralce" as well. So if anyone has any suggestions, please post them. Thanks a lot!

Ya, something on these lines sound good. I'm not sure if the up-tempo songs (like ANDHC) will suit her, as she's "old." But so far, these sound good. Any more on the list?

Do you know anything about her or her life? Instead of choosing songs based on the GTSW 'feel', perhaps you could also choose songs that would touch her personally with lyrics that are relevant to her specifically. With each song, you could then write a little note of why you chose that song, what you hope it means to her, etc.

It's just for my neigbor. She's really siritual. So, nothing too... "sexy" lol. But just stuff about life, and love. Along those lines.

 

For example, I don't think "Naked," or "Reveal" would be suitable.

Hope it's not too late, you mention that your neighbor is 'old". I don't know how old that is, but I think maybe she would like songs such as "At Last" and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", as well as All The Way. All three of those songs were previously recorded by "old timers" and she may remember those songs from years ago when they were recorded by the original singers (Frank Sinatra, Roberta Flack, etc.) "Nature Boy is also an older song that was re-done by her, as is "Fever" from Live in Las Vegas. I think older songs that she may know of from years ago, mixed with some newer ones like the ones mentioned that have the same sound and feel as the old ones, would be a perfect mix for someone "older" depending on your definition of "old."

Haven't seen ya in a while!! It's not too late. I was thinking of doing the same thing. Maybe I'll make a 2-CD set. One with older songs and one with Celine's recent releases.

Joel I was thinking the same thing pal! I go on here every night but haven't seen your posts, I guess I just don't happen to click on them but I've been around! As long as Celine's around so will I. I'm glad to know I'm not the only younger guy that likes Celine. I sorta tell people (who are girls) at my job that like Celine that i like her too. I don't tell them I'm a die hard fan or anything (I have to admit I don't want them to think I'm crazy) but I'll just say she has a nice voice. If they were guys I would NEVER say that cuz you know what they'd think. My brother is a couple of years older than you and know I like her and gives me hell for it, but not as much as he used to. He likes all the rap and that weird crap that you can barely understand, so he would never like any of this kind of music, but I wish someone else did so I could talk Celinish stuff with them, but I guess that is what this site is for right?!

 

Anyway good to see you around again! Hope things are going as well for you as they are for me.

I think I'm parcially to blame for that. I haven't been on too much recently. I started High School this year and I had no idea it would be so much work! I thought I'd be able to spend all day on the forum but these people are just killing me. Plus, I've got some honor-classes so they load us up with work. We're supposed be be *cough* smarter *cough* than the other students.

 

Anyway, I've got the same problem with the kids over here about Celine too. I honostly don't know why they don't like her! Rap has just taken over their lives! Well, that's just to bad... they don't know what they're missing!
