Something that I noticed in Celine: In most cases, whenever Celine lip-syncs her songs, she'll put her palm on her abdomen especially when it comes to very high pitch, as if she's trying to control her breath. But when she really sings, even it's difficult, I mean even when it comes to very high notes, she just don't do this kinda stuff. Anyone noticed this too? Well, lip-sync is something unavoidable sometimes, especially when Celine is asked to do so by those production people in the program so that the songs will sound as perfect as like what in the studio.

. I think if Celine were to voice her political opinion, I may not like what I hear...

 

. Now that I am hearing a lot about playback, I'm starting to think she does it a lot...

 

. I think she somewhat over exaggerates when she sings...well when she lip-syncs...

Hmm Let's see..

 

- She said she would take a break and come back to have new things to talk about. She's talking about the same things all over again.. like "I have 13 brothers and sisters.. bla bla..." and also I'm sick of Rene-Charles. Yes we know he changed your life.. move on!

 

- I hate her long hair (ATW, ACDS, JNVOP) and I love everyhing else. Different looks gives me an illusion that there are 4-5 singers that I adore

 

- She has so many songs, but she only performs the same selected tracks that were on the charts. And I wish she talked about her songs more like somebody suggested before.

 

- When people talk about some of her performances since 2002.. let's say on "L'ecole des fans" and tells how good it was.. I'm like.. *Ehmm* what?

 

- I don't think she has the best voice in the world, anymore. When people tells her that she's the biggest singer.. the best.. it's more of an image she has created during her career.

 

-She works so much and doesn't have time to review her own work or to see herself on television so she can correct some things.. therefore she gets stuck in some bad habbits (nasal voice, strange moves, fake expressions etc..)

My unpopular opinion about Celine is that Think Twice is a boring song.

She has so many songs, but she only performs the same selected tracks that were on the charts. And I wish she talked about her songs more like somebody suggested before.

i am totally agree with this one i hate hearing the same songs in every performance,she has many good sond.have you ever heard celine singing water from the moon,just walk away live?

i am agree with this too,i've never see any singer that works as hard as celine

2 albums a year

Guys I think some of your "unpopular" opinions you listed are very well popular among her fans... haha

 

Anyway:

 

- Garou likes her very very VERY much. Rene should retire and let Garou take his place in Céline's bed.

 

- Céline rarely sings with emotions in English, she sometimes fakes it SO BADLY

 

- Her voice on "Celine Dion" is at times extremely nasal

 

- Her Vegas gig was a very wise move (personally)

 

- She should give up singing in English

 

- She looked very good with short dark blond hair and the wigs she had in early 2003

 

- She needs more songs like "L'abondon" that talk about sex in sucha direct yet colorful way

 

- Falling Into You is way overrated and Let's Talk About Love is just plain cheap

 

- OH is a Chrysler album and Miracle only a calendar/coffee book album, 2002 was the last time Céline released an English album

 

- Céline should not care about Reney and release that goddam rock record at last followed by a jazz tour with her own BAND

 

- she sounds now better LIVE than in 1996

 

- I love her commitment to RC, even if it means he'll be gay when he's 18

well, some months ago, I was thinking the same way. And I still do, but just a little.

I found a way not to be that sad not finding a voice like Celine : I bought her first albums, I downloaded many of Celine's previous performances I didn't know etc. And there are a lot !!

OMG! I agree with the fake emotions!! I love Celine to death, but I have seen her LIVE twice in Vegas and I feel she fakes her emotion sometimes!

There's very little I hate about her! She's unique...voice wise, looks...etc!!! That's why she's "CELINE"!

- I don't like her Celine Dion album and OH is her worst album ever.

 

Now one thing though, yes, other people have had babies too, but for Céline it was different. From being 12 years old, she wasn't a child anymore. She didn't have a whole childhood and always had to be focused and careful about everything. There was almost nothing she could do spontaniously. René-Charles is teaching her to be relaxed and I think she is experiencing his life with him. She's getting part of the childhood she abandoned and gave up to be a singer.

 

Oh and the clothes, I'm sure she lets René-Charles pick them himself. I do believe she was talking about baby clothes when she said she didn't want anything to scratch him.

 

Just my 2 cents.

 

Oh and I want Céline and especially Sony to let go of the commerical ideas and just do what Céline wants to do, like she mentioned in For Keeps. Geez, what does a singer have to accomplish for her records company to have some faith in her fans.

I, too, thought the vocals on New Day Live were not good. I was very surprised that the cd was released. Definitely should have been redone. Didn't like the blond hair. Agree that sometimes Celine's choice of clothing is a bit odd. I only recently began to listen to some of her French songs. They are great. But I absolutley think she puts just as much feeling into her English songs. Have not seen New Day Live, but I'm not really impressed with alot of theatrics. Would rather see Celine and her band ... I love the Live in Memphis Concert.

Personnaly,what tickles me is that,with some of the songs we hear once in a while from her show in Vegas,her voice has a high nosy pitch that annoys me.

I hate the One Heart album (although I'm not sure that's a real unpopular opinion)

 

I actually LIKE the "A New Day Live LV" album. Maybe because I heard it before I actually went to the live show. I think it's recorded well but I have to admit I'm tiring of the older songs like "My heart Goes on" and some others. I really hope she changes the set list soon, at least a little.

 

I think in real life, from what I've read she is very funny and has a good sense of humor, but I HATE when she uses "scripted" ( or maybe her own) humor in her shows( but she is in show business so I can't really blame her).

 

I USED to think she shared too much of her private life in public, but I think since LV she is not so much in the public media limelight so you don't see as much of this and it's not as bad (to me at least).

 

I am one of those people that considered her 1994 wedding to be a bit over the top and extravagant. I guess something more low key would be my style , but she wanted it that way, although, why would would you pick December to have your wedding when it's freezing and gray in Montreal at that time of year? How about June?(I think it had something to do with a touring schedule or something).

 

I like alot of her English songs, but I do prefer more of the French songs. They are simpler (some of them) and they sound more natural to me (of course since it's her native language).

 

Garou should start singing ads for US televison. He has that voice that sounds like

he could do ads for Greyhound Bus or Budweiser.

 

I wish she would give up showbusiness, sell all her shoes and homes and become a Mother Theresa type of person.

 

All this being said, I still love Celine.

Okay, I have time now, so I shall rant about the things that irritate me re: Céline:

 

-Je sais pas is a horrid, and stupid song and I hate it..

-Her English music really doesn't do much for me in comparison to her French music

-She never really learned English properly, and when she speaks too much in English, her voice goes back to her Canadian accent (horrid generalisation, but most French Candians have extremely nasal voices)

-Et je t'aime encore bores me

-There are not three countries in the world!! People live outside Canada, France and the USA!

-Las Vegas was not fair to her fans in other countries, I have never seen her live and will never get the chance, because she is 'bored' of touring.

-Her comment "Family is important, music is fun," upset me a bit, because her and her music are important to her fans, which means she needs to think of them, even if she has other things to do.

- I do not own any of her new English albums, and I have no interest in them, also, OH makes me cringe.

-Get a bloody stylist!

-Stop talking about your life, and start talking about your music, it makes you appear like you have no artistic involvement in it at all.

- René is selfish, why can he manage Marilou but can't do anything for Céline?

-FIY and LTAL are both overrated

-Sometimes, I feel like she has really turned her back on her fans, it's obvious sometimes that music has become a chore for her, she doesn't take really good care of her voice, she is more concerned with her personal life, which is okay, she is allowed to have a life outside music, but it just makes me sad that she doesn't seem to think of us at all.
