The Best Moment of My Life

OK. I am beyond words because I am SOOOOOOOO excited! This was by far the best trip that I have ever been on. My mom, dad, and I flew out to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. And let me say that it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I had no idea how amazing this actually was in person. I took so many pictures, I’ll try to post some when they get developed. I actually walked down a ways into the canyon and boy was it amazing. I just stood there looking at the huge rock formations and trees and sand everywhere. It was beyond words. Then we drove to Las Vegas, and on the way we stopped at the Hoover Dam for about 2 hours and took a tour. I had no idea it was so big!!

And now the part that made my day, made my year, and made my whole life. I am not kidding when I say I have never been more excited in my life. It was Friday, November 4th, and the doors to Celine Dion’s concert “A New Day” in Caesar’s Palace opened at 7:45pm. I was there right when they opened, and went to my seat in the First Mezzanine. I was thinking these would be bad seats, because they weren’t as close as others but they ended up being perfect. You could see the whole stage and had a great view of Celine. Anyway, I sat there with my parents waiting and waiting…and then her show was supposed to start at 8:30pm. 8:45 came around, and everyone started clapping and yelling “CELINE, LETS GO CELINE”. Finally the cameraman started zooming in on people in the audience and putting their pictures on the LED screen on stage for about 5 minutes. Then finally, at 8:50...the lights went down and the Glass shattered on the LED screen. By the way I was told this is the largest LED Screen in the WHOLE WORLD!!! Anyway, then Celine came out and sang “A New Day Has Come” and she had a black overcoat on. She walked around slowly on stage and sang it perfectly. Then right when that ended, she came out with “The Power of Love” and took off her overcoat to have her red dress showing. She looked amazing! She slammed every note, especially the high one at the end and the powerful part in the middle and got a big acceptance from the audience. Then, went right into a medley of “It’s All Coming Back to me Now” and “Because You Loved Me”. Very well done. Then without talking yet, she went right into “To Love You More” where a violinist accompanied her very nicely. She held out that amazing note at the end so perfectly. By this time I was going nuts, I still was shocked I was seeing my favorite person ever live on stage just in front of me!!!! Then she stopped to thank us all for coming to see her show and said she was so happy to be there. Then the set changed to a New York City background from Times Square while she sang “I’m Alive”. Then she came out with the guys and sat on the couch and did a sexy version of “Seduces Me”. Good job, but if I had to pick one song I liked the least that would be the one. Then she stopped, sat on the front of the stairs and said “I would now like to dedicate this next song to all the parents and children of the world, and especially my very own…Rene Charles”. She put tears in lots of people’s eyes singing “If I Could” with a cherry blossom tree behind her and the pianist way behind her in the distance. Very very well done. Then she sang three classic songs, “At Last”, “Fever”, and “I’ve Got the World on a String”…all done very well. Then she went backstage to change clothes for about 3 minutes while the dancers came on and performed. Then oh my god…she came out to sing her most powerful song in my mind…”I Surrender”. I seriously don’t know where to start…she was absolutely perfect on this one. Extreme high notes, and long notes and she slammed every one. And after all that, she held out the last note for 22 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was screaming YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Then she came out to sing a Spanish song, “Ammore Annascunnuto”, which was well done in the style of a European city background. Then she sang what she called her “number 1 biggest French hit”…”Pour Que Tu M’aimes Encore” and did fabulous, absolutely fabulous. Now if you want to know the truth this is where I was getting a little pissed. I could see the whole theatre below me, the orchestra and they were all standing up and clapping for these next songs, and I could see the rest of the mezzanine standing up too…my little section did not stand up and clap on the upbeat songs! So everyone was like “Sit down I can’t see” because I stood up like EVERYONE else! So I literally turned around and said, “Take a look around, everyone is standing so if you can’t see be my guest and stand too”. I was just pissed that they were all too lazy to get their butts up and yell at me for having fun! Anyway, then Celine TORE up the stage with 3 upbeat ones…she started with “I Wish” and danced like heck and this got the crowd roared up. Then moved right along to “Love Can Move Mountains” which was also well done. And then slammed right into “I Drove All Night”. She stood up in the middle where the stairs rose while she was singing. Very well done, hit some great notes in this one. And then she said “Thank You…Good night!” So everyone was screaming so loud for more, and obviously she would come back because she didn’t do her most famous song yet! I am serious when I say that I have never heard a better performance of any song in my entire life. This was breathtaking and had me tearing up. A lady in a long wedding gown was flying across the stage really slow while the moon was shown shining in the background with a big glow. Then Celine came on to sing “My Heart Will Go On”…her most famous song ever. And I heard about her getting standing ovations for this one…but this was enormous. No lie…she received a whole 3 minute standing ovation after this song. Everyone (except my little mezzanine crowd) was standing up, but I said to myself “I’m not gonna let this ruin my evening”. So my parents and I stood up and I was cheering so loud. Celine stood there after about a minute and a half and just bent down. She put her head down for about 10 seconds then lifted it back up…and then stood back up, and not only had tears in her eyes. She was crying fully. After the 3 minute standing ovation she said thank you again for coming on behalf of everyone who worked on the show . And she added “I know that I’ve said it, but I can’t thank you enough for the support you’ve given me. That is the best reaction to a song I have ever gotten here”. Those were her words and that just hit me. We were all still standing and someone yelled out “I LOVE YOU CELINE”. Then a few others did and I did too! And she yelled back “Thank you so much”. That was such an emotional moment. Then she ended with “What a Wonderful World” and then got another standing ovation when she and the cast came out for a bow, and then Celine went to the first row of the audience and gave a young woman a rose. This ended the show and it was spectacular.

Gosh, haha that is a loooooooooong review! But if you read it, thank you! Because I am just so grateful and so honored that I had the chance to see one of the 7 wonders of the world, plus my inspiration. It was the best moment of my lifetime to see that woman on stage do what she does best.

The best of the best.

We might kiss when we are alone... When nobody's watching... We might take it home... We might make out... When nobody's there... It's not that we're scared... It's just that it's delicate... We might live like never before... When there's nothing to give... Well how can we ask for more... We might make love in some sacred place... The look on your face is delicate

Glad to hear you had a great time!!!

But, actually the screen is the biggest indoor screen in North America only. and “Ammore Annascunnuto” is not a Spanish song, it's a Neapolitan song.

Ermmm... actually, "Ammore Annascunnuto" is a Neapolitan song, not a Spanish song. Neapolitan is the dialect spoken in Naples, Italy. That's where I live. :P

BTW, I really appreciate your review. I'm happy you had a great time in Vegas.

awwwwwwwwwwww you made me miss it so much!!!!!

That stading ovation on the end is so emotional. I remember Celine so emotional, we were all screaming and clapping and she was just delighted. It was so great!

If I could really makes everyone cried. The second night I went she was crying so much in the end and everyone crying around her. She wanted to speak about the next song but she couldn't, she'd cry. And then she said "You're not helping either" because we were all crying!

I just remembered...

When I look back to the concerts I attended... I can't remember Celine's face singing I surrender. I just remember I knew she was going to hit that note and I looked around at everyone and I really remember their shocked faces like "Wow, what a voice, where it comes from?"

It's an amazing feeling. It's like WOW... amazing.

I know the feeling... One night we were dancing when she did I drove all night, but almost everybody was sitting down again, except for some people at the right side of the audience and us, in the middle. We were only together so people behind us started to tap our shouder, asking us to SIT DOWN! I was so angry! I travelled half the world to see Céline and they ask me to SIT DOWN???

At that time I wished I was with the people at the right side, because they were all together, a complete row having fun and dancing and no one dared to tell them to sit down! :kicking:

LD1977 I know its AWFUL! You pay so much money to see your idol and they want you to sit down.

Mozinha, same with me! I always looked around at other people's faces to see their expressions, and on I Surrender she really did perfect.

Also, I bought the 25 dollar A New Day book in her shop, 4 cocktail stirrers, and a keychain.

I think the usher's name was Lucinda, she seated us and was SOOOOOO nice.

It was by far the most emotional thing on MHWGO. It was just spectacular.

And Celinedionilove you, your right. I wish everyone else gets this experience I had. It was just the making of my lifetime.

Weee - Adam your report sounds amazing!!!!!!!! You make us feel like we had been there right with you. So happy for you that you finally got to see her live :w00t: It's been about 9 years ago that I saw her in concert in Frankfurt/Germany but still I remember all of it. I think one really special thing about her live shows is that she never gives you the feeling that it's just one of a few thousand shows. It's always like every song, every minute of the show is something unique and new... SIGH - now I wanna be there tooooooooo :kicking:

Love,

Christine

Letizia: Keep dreaming and hoping and praying! Trust me I NEVER thought I would be able to go, and I was so upset.

So to all you who haven't seen it...keep believing, thats my advice...I hoped and prayed and my wish and dream came true!

Celine ain't that cheap to lip-synch AND...no way! i don't think she wants to dissappoint any of her fans that travelled so far just to see her perform
