The most amazing trip ever!

Hey everyone!

 

 

OK so I’ll try to make it short…A few weeks ago, my friend Marisa and I decided that we would take a short road trip to Vegas on Oct. 26th. She wanted to meet up with some friends and I…well, I just wanted to get away from reality for a while. We really had no plans, no hotel reservations, no A New Day tickets, and no idea of how long we were going to stay.

 

On Wednesday (October 26th) we left my house at 7:00am and arrived in Vegas at about 10:30am. Instead of immediately going down to the strip we decided to take a mini detour to Lake Las Vegas. That were we spent most of the day, we met up with Marisa’s friend Christy and spent the day just hanging out, walking around, taking a boat tour of the lake, and relaxing. At around 5:00 we headed to the Las Vegas strip and to Caesars. When we got there we went straight to the Colosseum box office. It was at the box office that the magic began………..

 

Both Marisa and I had a feeling in our gut that something wonderful was going to happen this trip but we were trying to keep it cool. We asked to speak to the person that Marisa knew at the box office to see what he could do for us in the way of tickets for that nights show. After a few minutes he said “so you guys want front row right??” and in unison we responded “YES!” Then after a out one minute of typing he looked up and said “ok here’s what I have……..Orchestra 5 row AA seats 505-506” we were actually a little hesitant at first because it was all the way over at Orch 5 and well, Celine doesn’t typically spend that much time on that side of the stage but we both kinda thought that it’s front and we couldn’t give up front row tickets. We would just have to make sure that we got Celine’s attention and make sure she spent more time on our end of the stage. So needless to say, we bought the tickets. Then once we had the tickets in hand we headed over to Caesars front desk because we needed to find a room and fast seeing how we were running out of time before the show. After some fairly slick maneuvers we were able to book a room there for pretty darn cheap.

 

A short time later we headed to the show. Once in the Colosseum, we started talking to some really nice ushers, we had our pictures taken and we went on a Rene hunt. We didn’t end up seeing Rene at that point but we did see Patrick Angelil, which was really cool. It was really until we took our seats that it all hit me. I was sitting in FRONT row!!!! The camera panned the audience and focused in on Marisa and I for a minute then the show started. Celine was BEAUTIFUL! She cut her hair again…but don’t worry it isn’t short. Its about 1 inch below her shoulders, it was really wavy and I could swear that it was lighter that usual too.

 

Throughout the show Celine really paid a lot of attention to us. We were screaming our heads off, dancing, singing and having a ball. She spent soooooooo much time on our side it was amazing. She talked about being on vacation in Paris and about how RC started school the day before. She was actually really talkative that night…it was so cute. I think the coolest thing about sitting front row is that you can really hear her voice without the microphone. At the end of the show Celine ended up giving the roses to 2 adorable kids sitting in orch 3. Ironically enough, the kids were actually the kids of Marisa’s friend, so it was really neat to see her talking to them.

 

After the show we were standing down by the stage talking and I looked up toward the sound box and froze, it was Rene. I reached over and hit Marisa in the arm and asked “is that who I think it is???” She looked up and said “yeah I think so” So without looking at her I said “I’ll be right back” As I started up the stairs an usher came after me and grabbed my arm and yelled at me “Leave him alone!” I looked at him and said I just want to go see if it is him…I wouldn’t bother him. But the usher just said “NO, you can see him from here. Leave him alone” I told Marisa what happened so she devised the plan to take the kids up there since they got the rose they would be able to say hi to Rene. I was standing about 2 feet from Rene and completely frozen. All I could do is stare and smile. He looked up at me, stared for a minute and smiled. I was in shock! As he continued to stand there talking to some other people he kept looking at me. Finally, he came out from the sound box and I started fumbling through my purse for a pen and my show ticket. I finally found it but I was still standing back so to not interrupt him but I continued staring and smiling and he continued to stare back and smile. I held up my pen and ticket and he held up his first finger and said “give me one minute”. Of course I shook my head ok and waited patiently. Then that same rude usher came up and started yelling at me to leave. He said I had to exit now! I stood on my toes looking over his shoulder at Rene who was still looking back at me but now his look was a different look. Now his face was saying “hey where are you going” The usher continued pushing me toward the exit and kept looking over my shoulder to see Rene looking at what was happening. Then he started walking in my direction so I slowed down but the usher was right behind me so I couldn’t stop. Once I got to the little hallway that leads to the exit Rene was at the top of that hallway looking down at me. He tilted his head to the side as if saying “I’m sorry” and I walked out.

 

Later I was told, from someone pretty close to Rene, that next time I should just walk right up to him and I shouldn’t worry about the stupid ushers. She said he likes it when people want to talk to him.

 

We ran into Michel after the show too and we were able to talk to him for a few minutes…he’s sooooooooo nice. I never realized before how much he really looks like Celine or rather how much Celine really looks like him. They have a lot of the same mannerisms, it’s really cute.

 

The next day, we checked out of Caesars, got a manicure, laid around the pool and decided to stop by the box office again. We figured, even if we couldn’t get front row tickets again that we would at least stop by and say thank you to our contact. As soon as we walked up our contact looked at us and said…”you wanna go again?” and we were like “um…yeah!” So he did some computer magic and said well all I have available is Orch 4 row CC. Marisa and I looked at each other and said “well we’re really hoping for row AA” so he said ok give me just a minute let me talk to someone about it. Then after a few minutes he came back trying to look very serious, but we weren’t buying his act. We knew we had the tickets. He talked to us for a few minutes and said “ok so where do you want to sit?” We told him Orch 3 on the isle or any where in Orch 4. Then he took out his seating chart and told us that he had Orch 4 row AA seats 409, 410, 411, 412 available for us to choose from. We freaked out! We looked at each other and both said “409 & 410 please”.

 

Next we went to find a computer so that we could find a room to stay in for the night. We looked at a few hotels but because the 2nd ticket purchase was an unexpected expense we really didn’t want to pay tooooo much for the hotel. We ended booking at Bally’s online. When we got there the woman at the registration desk told me that they over booked so they would be upgrading us to a suite. I figured, no big deal it probably wouldn’t be that much bigger than a regular room. When we got up to the room I opened the door, peered my head around the corner and froze. I backed up and shut the door, turned to Marisa and said…”OMG open the door” She opened the door and screamed. There was marble tile on the floor in the entry was and kitchen with a granite counter top, there were 3 living rooms, a dinning room, 1 bathroom and that was just in the front part of the suite. We walked into the bedroom and it was huge! Then there was the master bathroom. It had a huge Jacuzzi hot tub 2 sinks, 2 closets, a shower that doubled as a steam room, and a separate toilet room. The whole suite had to have been over 3000 square feet.

 

We headed back to Caesars for the show, got our pictures taken again & said hi to a few people we knew. When we first walked in a few of the security guards looked at us and said “you were here last night weren’t you??” we said yeah and he said “yeah you’re the screaming girls” LOL. Once inside it was like a dream…sitting front row for the second time in 2 days! Once again the show was perfect. I think we screamed louder that night than before. Celine spent sooooooooooo much time playing with us and giving us attention it was amazing. Marisa and I knew all Celine’s moves so we would do them along with her and Celine loved it. The dancers even told us after that we gave them so much energy that night. Celine ended up giving the rose to a lady 2 seats down from us who was really sick. Although after the show several of the ushers, security guards and even out box office contact said that they were sure we got it. They knew Celine would have given it to us had it not been for the other woman…but we understood. Just having Celine acknowledge we were there was enough for us.

 

On Friday, we went over to the Boutique before heading home. They have a whole bunch of new things in there. I had a really hard time trying to pick just a few things to buy, but I ended up with a blue hooded sweatshirt, a necklace, and a post card for a friend.

I have to agree with Stace, that the trip was fannnnnnnnnnnntastic!

 

I'm not someone that can usually stand flying by the seat of their pants, but I kinda' decided that's what I was going to do this time. I couldn't make up my mind to do anything before hand. Even a friend of mine that lives in Las Vegas, who usually reprimands me for not booking a hotel room before hand just laughed and shrugged their shoulders. I said 'You know how I do things'.

 

I'll just share a few of my highlights regarding the show because Stace recapped a lot.

 

The first night, during I'm Alive, Stace and I stood up and danced for the first verse. Céline flocked over to us like a bee to honey, so it was really cool. We were the only ones standing for that part of the song. Stacy wanted to sit down and I didn't want to be the only one standing.

 

During "I Wish" when the dancers go up the isles, I yelled for one of my favorites, Kelby. He got a big grin on his face, kinda' looked back and then continued on his way. After the show we saw him and he liked that I yelped for him.

 

During "Fever", I have a habit of doing the "br-r-r-" with Céline, and this time was no different. We were singing like crazy so I just did my b-r-r-r right along with Céline. She flung her head over to the side and made a great surprised expression and did her little "huh" sound while looking at me. I didn't notice it because I was having so much fun that I forgot she normally doesn't do that in the show. It's not every show she flings her head and looks over to orchestra 5 after her b-r-r-r. LOL. Stacy pointed that out to me afterwards.

 

But "What a Wonderful World" was simply the greatest. We did something that we hadn't intended would get Céline's attention, but it did. And since we had it we decided we'd do something really, really cute also. We did it and apparently Céline thought it was pretty adorable, too, because she scrunched her nose up, grinned, leaned forwards and shook her head as she sang. Think to "Live in Memphis" with "Beacuse You Loved Me". That's how she was.

 

The René thing was pretty cool. I think that he recognized us. Stacy has seen the show a number of times now. I'm on number 15 and I've met him several times. I think that had a lot to do with him asking us to wait a minute. All of what Stacy said was true though. Even as we were down the hall way into the colosseum lobby, he walked by and looked at us and made this look like he was sorry. We should have just passed the usher by then, but I was way too intimidated. Stacy had actually started to walk out and I told her she wasn't going to let this opportunity pass her by. Next time, we won't.

 

Michel was an absolute angel! I love running into him. He even did a Céline impression, kind of. I said "Ahhh you're pullin' a Céline here, huh?" and copied his hand gesture and added a little stomp of the foot. He laughed in appreciation. Maybe I'll talk like her to him. I think he'd appreciate it. He'd probably be amused.

 

 

The second night we were seated by another big fan from New Mexico, named Sarah. We all screamed like crazy. This time we stood up the entire time for "I'm Alive" and when Céline does the little bend of the knees thing to freeze the dancers, we did it along with her. Stace and i had perfect timing, and I think that Sarah and her friend were a little too enthralled in teh show. They were about a beat behind, but the effect must have looked freaking awesome to Céline because her jaw dropped and she had this look like "Oh my freaking gosh! That was soooo cool" on her face. She even leaned her neck forward a bit. All of this actually caused her to start that little line late. It's supposed to be nice and even.... 'that-I'll-be-the-one......standin' by" but she got so amused that it ended up more like "thati'llbetheone-standin'by...through-good-and-through-tryin' ti-i-i-i-mes" so she caught up just....... it was funny to see her that aumsed.

 

We did the same thing for WAWW that night, too. Again, this time she was right in front of us, although we were in Orchestra 4 that night. That was really cool to see that it wasn't just a night's variation. It was definitely personalized.

 

This time we were on the screen when they do the last scene. But we had 4 separate photos on the screen and then it started panning out.

 

It was really cool because in the one, I was hugging Stacy and my eyes were closed and I was smilin, sniggling with her. The next one Stace and I both had this kind of half-grin on our faces. The next one we were full on- smiling.... and then the fourth one we had our jaws dropped a little bit and were still smiling big. People don't usually get 4. Then they started panning to the entire audience and we were right in the center. And what the coolest thing about that part was this:

 

As it zoomed o ut, you could see right where Céline was looking, and she was right to the side of us, facing our direction!!!!!

 

It was just really, really awesome!!!!!!!!!!

 

 

 

 

 

There's more awesome moments but I have to get ready for work now. Back to reality.

Yeah she took out the extensions but she also cut it. Not a lot, but it was cut none the less. Marisa and I were given this information from a VERY reliable source.
