How to make a bootleg?

Hi everyone I'm going to see Celine on nov 2,3,4 and 5 and I've got front row tickets for 3 of 4 shows I'll attend. I want to make bootlegs of all 4 shows so if there is an advice you can give me you are welcome. I remember there was a topic here with the detailed description of how to do it but I can't find it, so... Actually what concerns me the most is how to bring a recorder in the colloseum. It's very small so I can possibly put it in my sock but I don't kknow if they have a metal detector on the entrance...

By the way, I'm going to Vegas alone so it would be great to meet the other fans Is anyone going?

wow... no, i've got a small Sony digital recorder, not a cellphone, and I ain't gonna hold it in my hands, just in my bag or somewhere under the clothes. We'll see. I don't think that I'll have problems during the show, I just don't know how to get it inside the colloseum,,,

Don't you have to through a metal detector?

They take purses away from you and check them very quickly (depends on who's checking your bag) then you pass through the metal detector. I recommend a dark purse.

Thats right, last year we were talking with a lady that works at the Colosseum for a while and she was the one that told us the story. I think you might have heard it from me. This was the case: there was a man who was sitting on front row and he was making a call during the show. He was really annoying for the people around him and also for Céline and her crew, so she walked up to him, took his phone, said "Byebyeeeee!" to the person at the other side of the line and threw the phone to security. The man could get his phone after the show. I thought it was pretty cool of her!

Does anyone remember the TeamCeline renewal gift a couple years back? Well it's a small black zipper bag with her name on it. Really cheap looking. Well I bought a small item at the Celine store, so I had a store bag, and I put the recorder in the zipper bag, and put it in the bottom of the store bag, and put my item on top of it, so it was hardly noticeable. It might help to put your ID or money with the player, so IF they stop you, you can just say it's your wallet. They didn't stop me. they took the bag, looked inside, and passed it right on by.

 

When the show started, I took it out, turned it on, and waited for the lights to go out, and I began to record. I just kept it between my legs, but you can do whatever with it. I'll say this, you have to find a way to muffle the sound, because the bass in the colliseum will produce major feedback. Cover the recorder with a nylon stocking or something.

 

Good luck! We would really love a better quality bootleg. Try and record it all nights, and if something doesn't work the first night, try something different the next.

Yes, you have to go through a metal detector...so make sure it is in a bag or a purse...not on you.

 

They check them pretty quickly, and ask you if you have a camera or anything, just answer no..and make sure it is hidden.

And knowing the Celine actually may have taken away someone's cell phone and taken it to security just makes me feel horrible. Doesn't anyone else feel just a little bad or guilty for doing this?

At first she'd probably be angry. But perhaps she would eventually think nothing of it when realizing that it makes so many people happy. She always says, "I wish everyone could come to the show and have this experience"...hence the reason for the DVD that isn't coming!! So, maybe she'd be alright with it knowing it was the only way some people will EVER experience the show, and that it makes the fans absolutely delighted.

I know... but I still feel pretty bad about the situation. As for the DVD, no one ever said that it's NOT coming out. We just don't have an official date.

Well, is making a bootleg any different than all of the sharing that goes on around here? The official mp3's scattered around, the DVD rips, the karaokes, every TV ripped video that we don't have permission to use, the rare songs...everything we share can technically be considered bootlegging.

you right...those mp3 and mpeg rips are all scattered around although they were copyrighted

 

it gives me a bad feeling as well...ah well, if Celine ever finds this out, i don't think she'll be mad for long (well, hopefully with the right explanation ). as she knows, many fans are not able to watch her live at The Colosseum. i am one of the few people here who has financial problems lol, it's gonna take me forever just to collect the money to go to the Convention...like say 20 years

good luck with the recording, would be great to see it! and i really do not think this is wrong. i mean there are so many devoted fans out there that simply can not afford to go all the way to vegas to see the show, so for those of us who are lucky enough to go should defo share the experience with others! i made a few audio recordings when i was there and they were amazing, then my fone was stolen! doh! karma i supose!

unlike celine not everyone can jetset around the world! I'm just glad i was one of the lucky ones.
