"If That's What It Takes"-released?

After the huge success of PQTME, why wasn't ITWIT released? Or was it? I love this song so much- just listening to it right now

Ohhh how I HATE those copycats! GAWD damn Celione Dione!!! You know the French song sung by this amazing singer Céline Dion? It's called "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore", has an amazing video, lyrics and vocals. And here comes this American sibyl Celione Dione and sings this amazing song in English. I was like GAWD can't this hag let it be!??!?! All the ppl who attempt to cover this song or worse, sing it in other languages, should be shot at once. Like Celione or whatever her names is - I dunno what she's doing now, heard some Vegas thing. Should stay there forever and let such amazing songs in peace 4eva.

Sorry, the covers of D'eux songs - If That's What It Takes, I Don't Know and Fly weren't released as singles. I guess the reason is, as siur implied, that 1) they were inferior to the originals, and 2) they weren't the most suitable songs available to be released as singles from Falling Into You album.

lol...well its true...i agree with you Ethan. if those songs where released as singles not many people would buy them because the melody is exactly the same as the original songs.

FIY was filled with high quality tracks (Call The Man, Because You Loved Me, It's All Coming Back To Me Now, Falling Into You, Seduces Me, All By Myself, Your Light, Natural Woman and so on.. So I guess that SONY's single choises were actually very good on this album, too sad CTM was released so late and with little promo and before the release of the smash hit MHWGO, then it was forgotten forever...

i'm not trying to say that ITWIT is crap...try putting yourself into the shoes of non-Celine fans...would they buy the single? would the single climb the charts? well don't take what i said seriously...its only my opinion

I didn't say you said it was crap, but I have read that in other threads that this is crap mainly because it's English and it is not so hip to digg her English work if you are a fan who looks for quality .

 

I am not sure how it would be treated by the non-fans. I mean it would had been given a bigger chanse for non-french audience than PQTME did coz people could understand it more and relate to it, and easier to listen to. I believe that the fact that it's French people who don't understand French will automatically dismiss it. Here an English version would take away that barrier. But then again would the melody and production be liked by the non-French audience? That's a total different story. But it wouldn't do any harm if it were released back then as a single...

 

This is all just my opinion though...

Thanks guys- yeah, I think ITWIT and its melody would have worked in non-French countries. I go into a separate world when listening to it- I think it's very atmospheric. Oh well- it's not as if FIY needed another single- it did ok
