BJS Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I was just listening to CD 2 of the Canadian digipak this afternoon. For some reason the CD always skipped at two points: (1) 1min 14sec through "Je Danse Dans Ma Tete", where Celine sings "Et vous qu'en pensez-vous?" and (2) 2min 56sec through "Je Danse Dans Ma Tete", where Celine sings "Les sirenes de police". I carefully checked the back of the CD but didn't notice any scratch or physical damage. CD 1 and the DVD work fine. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. If not then I'll go back to HMV tomorrow to exchange it. Thanks in advance Quote My dearest love who existed in a dream Till this evening when a wave came and swept me out to sea None of the loves that you have known Could prepare you for the love raging everywhere in me For all the arms that have covered you the hands that have touched you and the lips you have lingered on before Added together would be less than an olive In the banquet of love I have in store Love season to entice Love with all the trimmings filled with spice Love flavored to your whim Served piping hot with all the trimmings... For I'll decode every breath and every sigh, till your every lover's wish is fulfilled before it's made Toss in some jealousy and doubt, should it be required Not to rest till there's nothing more desired Thus loving as I do Never, never will you ever be untrue Having love with all the trimmings Waiting home for you...

BJS Posted October 7, 2005 Author Posted October 7, 2005 Thanks for your advice winforlife Yes, my computer is new and there's nothing wrong with the cd-rom. I played the CD in my walkman and encountered the same issue. But why should Sony Canada target only Torontonians on this one? VanMerlin Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 I'm sure they aren't targeting Toronto. They may have just had a bad bundle made which happened to have been shipped to Toronto. Either way, I'd take the CD back no matter what. Some CDs just skip, sometimes a certain CD player is far too sensitive, but you should get a CD that doesn't skip. If the new one skips, then get a new player!! Quote

I don't think Sony would purposely send damaged cds , at least I hope not! Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg
BJS Posted October 7, 2005 Author Posted October 7, 2005 (edited) Hi I'm getting so excited now! I went to HMV this morning, and played the defective CD in front of their staff. I asked him to check another copy of the digipak CD2. And guess what? The CD skipped at the same points! Is this magical or what? So I asked him to try the regular version. This time there's no problem with it. So I kindly requested that I exchange the defective one for the CD2 of the regular version, and he gladly complied So for those of you who're experiencing the same issue, that was my advice Edited October 7, 2005 by BJS Quote My dearest love who existed in a dream Till this evening when a wave came and swept me out to sea None of the loves that you have known Could prepare you for the love raging everywhere in me For all the arms that have covered you the hands that have touched you and the lips you have lingered on before Added together would be less than an olive In the banquet of love I have in store Love season to entice Love with all the trimmings filled with spice Love flavored to your whim Served piping hot with all the trimmings... BJS Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 I think regular version CD looks different to Digipack version? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Bellamy. I just re-examined the CD and the only difference I could find was in the product code for the two versions. For the regular version it's 82876726242, and for the digipak it's 82876726252. Notice the difference? Besides that they look pretty much identical. I'm aware that even the regular version varies from one edition to another. While the Canadian edition has the same design for both versions (i.e. the pseudo-vinyl idea), some other edition features a milky white CD2 (one that's similar to the 'Miracle' CD), and a rosy touch to CD1. I know the difference in the product code kind of upsets the integrity of the whole package, but honestly I wouldn't bother exchanging it again. I've had enough of this crapola! Does SONY ever learn from past mistakes? I guess I'll have to say "Ils ne changent pas"!
