That's a good thing! Regular albums usually sell better than Christmas albums, so the song will be open to more exposure..

IL DIVO TO OPEN 2006 WORLD CUP   

 

International opera stars IL DIVO are set to open next year's (06) World Cup soccer championships in Germany.

 

The quartet of tenors, whose eponymous debut album reached number one and eight in the UK and US charts respectively, are in the process of writing a soccer-themed song for the tournament, which takes place every four years.

 

A record industry insider says, "Il Divo are perfect to open the cup. They've sold five million albums and are famous around the world.

 

"Hopefully it will become a global anthem for the cup. The boys can sing in different languages so the song will probably not just be in English."

 

AMERICAN IDOL judge SIMON COWELL discovered Spaniard CARLOS MARIN, Swiss URS BUHLER, Frenchman SEBASTIEN IZAMBARD and American DAVID MILLER last year (04).
