How many songs does Celine remember?

Just wondering, how many songs do you think Celine remembers (her songs, that she has recorded)? I saw a press conference with Madonna when American Life was released and someone asked her to sing "Like a virgin" and she could hardly remember the lyrics. Im also asking cause she seemed to remember "the prayer" and sang it without greater mistakes on Larry King.

 

I would guess she could sing maybe 100 songs of the top of her head.

100 ? Way too many ! When you see that she couldn't remember some of the lyrics of Pour que tu m'aimes encore during a show with Drucker & JJG

Honey, I can sing 100 of the top of my head! Celine always said she remembers the entire song after listening to it once or twice. She's got a pretty good memory. I think she can sing a lot of her songs by heart, and a lot of songs by other artists too.

I got it from mirc, you'll probably find it there.

I think not many. Because she use to say she doesn't like to learn it. And when she records them in the studio she tries not to remember every word and their order just because she wants the song to be fresh for her as at first time she got it.

 

I was impressed that she didn't mistake in "The Prayer".

And by the way it's obvious sometimes that it kinda troubles her when people ask her to sing something old. She used to make mistakes or it can be seen that she need some effort to remember. It was with "Le monde est stone", ""Pour que tu m'aimes encore"and some others...

But actually she's not the only one. Goldman doesn't rememeber all his songs too and he's making mistakes also. Anyone does

It's normal.

Think of how many songs she has already recorded and perfomed.... it's hard to have this all 100% remembered anytime.

I bet she remembers more than we think. Maybe she dosen't remember every single little word but I bet she remembers a good majority of them.

 

I mean shoot, I can remember probably 90% of her (english) songs by heart. I'm sure she can remember a lot, she probably would just need a minute to think about them first.

hmm well i cna hear her song and know it but even me i cna barely remebr some of them. mostly i remeber peices instead of whole songs.

You know it reminds me myself I use to write kind of articles for people to read. And for some of them it has the meaning. They refer to my words from time to time in different moments of their lives. Well, when the time passes by they use to ask me:"Hey, remember when you were writing those things you'd said there...." And sometimes I really can't remember exactly what I was saying there in that article, what was my exact statement. Or someone shows me one, I do read it and I got very surprised when I look at the author name - because I see that it's ME who wrote those smart words. I can't believe that it was me! And I re-asked about it again and again being amazed...

Too many things to think about, too many words, many events in life - all these things sometimes make it harder to remember everything, even important thing. Because there're so MANY of them..Things use to change places in the head, change priorities...

So I guess the same way it can be with Celine.

Many songs has deep meaning for us and we remember them and cherish, but for her there're too many songs, too many events - can't remember all, maybe even a half. The same as it's impossible for her to remember her interviews. I bet some of us know them much better than she's. Because it's not so important for her and because thre're so many of them...

 

Some songs has meaning for her too, and I think those ones she remembers. But not the 90%. 50 maybe.

She sang so many songs during her lifetime, I think it is impossible to exactly remember all of them.

There were Celine songs which I listened to 10-20 times a day during weeks some years ago, and I knew all of them by heart. But now I do not remember them exactly.

I think many song... she has a good memory... She even remember the lyrics of " The Prayers ".. after she cry her heart out in Larry King's interviews.

well i've got to admit it...everyone forgets stuff...sometimes i cant even remember what i said 2 minutes ago everyone's got their pros and cons...maybe Celine didnt like learning so she couldnt remember some of her songs...ah well...who knows? we are not Celine...
