ByuSmurf Posted August 30, 2005 at 01:23 AM Posted August 30, 2005 at 01:23 AM Hi, everyone! Have you guys been glued to the weather channel or the news stations like I have? I live on the coast in Louisiana and was extremely frightened that the storm would hit here! It hit New Orleans, LA, Biloxi, MS, and the coast of Alabama. I live on the SW corner of Louisiana, so was lucky... this time. Please pray for all those that have lost their homes and are suffering from this devastating storm! More flooding is expected up through the states... So..Everyone stay safe and God bless! Quote http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/byusmurf/siggy12-25-05.jpg
Koolan Posted August 30, 2005 at 01:47 AM Posted August 30, 2005 at 01:47 AM I was going to make a topic about this. This is some kind of storm! It could've been a lot worse. Anyone else live near the affected areas? Gases prices will be near $4/gallon Quote Please support the forum by ordering through our Amazon.com referral link below. Mozinha Posted August 30, 2005 at 02:33 AM Posted August 30, 2005 at 02:33 AM I was watching the news... I hope everyone will be safe. ByuSmurf Posted August 30, 2005 at 05:15 PM Author Posted August 30, 2005 at 05:15 PM Watching the news today...and it seems to be worse than first anticipated. People may not have electricity for up to 2 MONTHS! Devastation unbelievable! Death toll rising. The traffic on the interstate here is STILL backed up with people trying to find somewhere to stay. Even our 2 civic centers here are packed with evacuees. It is a shame that so many people were unable to evacuate due to lack of transportation or money. ~Lady~ Posted August 30, 2005 at 06:16 PM Posted August 30, 2005 at 06:16 PM THis is horrible. Hope no one here was hurt!!! Quote
ByuSmurf Posted August 31, 2005 at 03:25 AM Author Posted August 31, 2005 at 03:25 AM Now we are without long distance phone service. And because of the hurricane- the port of New Orleans and the off-shore oil rigs being closed down the price of gasoline is going to jump at least 50 cents per gallon here tomorrow. Louisiana provided 1/4 of the oil and gasoline for the US...but now has come to a halt. Fuel up tonight folks! Quote http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/byusmurf/siggy12-25-05.jpg
1Celine12 Posted August 31, 2005 at 05:35 AM Posted August 31, 2005 at 05:35 AM I need everyone to read my prayer chain that is dedicated to the hurricane victims. Who do you guys think I should send the prayer chain to when we get it all done after 2 days? I started it so continue to add prayers as much as you like because I want those people to know that we care. Quote

1Celine12 Posted August 31, 2005 at 10:50 PM Posted August 31, 2005 at 10:50 PM I heard president George W. Bush talking on the television about this whole thing. When he was talking I saw some pictures of the disaster and I started to cry and I finally got down on my knees and prayed for all of those people to be safe. Quote

Mozinha Posted September 4, 2005 at 05:20 PM Posted September 4, 2005 at 05:20 PM I just hope they'll find a way to give back a life to those people. The ones from New Orleans won't have their city back for months... For all this time and maybe a year or more, they don't have a house, a job, kids don't go to school... because it does not exist anymore.
