I'm a sophomore this year and I'm also taking French. When we got our textbooks, I looked at it and noticed a few famous French-speaking people, and of course, there was Celine! There was a picture of her and a short bio, mentioning the grammy she won for "Falling Into You".

J'aimerais tant savoir

Souffler comme le vent

Sur ton doux visage

Faire partir le noir, disparaître le temps

Casser les nuages

Parler même tout bas

Juste pout toi et moi

De petits riens

Mais là-bas

Au loin, tu nages...

i'm not sure why other people chose it, but i chose it because it's celine's native language  , i want to be able to understand her french songs, and also because my sister took spanish in high school and i got tired (and i still do :whistling1: ) of hearing her saying spanish terms

I should have taken French. But any who, Celine was in a Almanac (for kids) that I bought for my freshman yr of high school. It just showed a picture of her and then showed a chart of the Top selling albums for the past year and of course Celine was #2 right under TITANIC soundtrack.

Céline was in one of my French textbooks, and of course, I did a happy dance when I read it. lol. I also held a presentation about her show in Vegas in French. I told everyone not to complain, because this was the only time I'd be able to talk about Céline for 5 minutes at school without anyone interrupting me. hehe

One of my friends who has taken French had once shown me her sheet because she saw what would surprised me. Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore - Celine Dion was mentioned!

I remember opening up my French exam paper and nearly having a heart attack coz the first question was about Celine (you NEVER hear about her in Britain). It told you about her in French and you had to fill in the blanks in English but I didn't have to read the French, I knew the answers anyway :shy:
