Matej Posted May 18, 2012 at 08:57 AM Posted May 18, 2012 at 08:57 AM Celine and Rene have listed their private island home for 29.5 million Canadian dollars. The four-storey chateau sits on a private island Gagnon which is situated between suburban Laval and Montreal's north shore, and its huge price tag would make it one of the five most expensive residences in Canada. "We are mostly in Florida, Rene-Charles goes to school here," said Rene. "And of course there are commitments in Vegas because of Celine." Although the family spend a lot of their time in the US, Rene insisted they are not leaving Canada completely and plan to look for another property. Quote
Del Posted May 18, 2012 at 10:33 AM Posted May 18, 2012 at 10:33 AM I'm quite shocked that they're selling the house, and those pictures. Oh my Quote Instagram: @delphis78
celine-rc Posted May 18, 2012 at 01:07 PM Posted May 18, 2012 at 01:07 PM Well they could well be living close to Roxanne but who know. I wish I got the cash to buy their old house There are many famous people who like the area where I live. It's not impossible that they decide to get a piece of land here. Plus, it's in a decent distance from Montréal. It's not impossible. I agree Daniel, I would do the same if I had the money... Peppercorn1991 Posted May 18, 2012 at 01:43 PM Posted May 18, 2012 at 01:43 PM I personally don't like this house that much, Its too old fashioned, I much prefer her new house in Florida its modern, i love that house. kev x Quote

browseceline Posted May 18, 2012 at 05:24 PM Posted May 18, 2012 at 05:24 PM well this looks like a castle for a king and his queen, or a queen and her prince ( celine and rene haha) But gorgeous, amazing beautiful villa. A shame they sell it, but on the other hand, it is maybe a bit too much, too classic. I understand that the Florida home which has a more modern theme, has their preference. imaswede78 Posted May 18, 2012 at 06:13 PM Posted May 18, 2012 at 06:13 PM It makes sense they are selling especially since they are mostly in Las Vegas and Florida anyway. The upkeep and taxes on that house must be HUGE! I think I remember reading an interview where Celine said they were able to spend 4 or 5 days in Quebec last year so to sell and buy something smaller would make sense. Quote
riobeard11 Posted May 18, 2012 at 07:57 PM Posted May 18, 2012 at 07:57 PM I love what they did to this house - I think it's beautiful and completely my style... It's sad they're selling it but I understand. It's not reasonable to have such a large home when you're never using it. Quote
celine-rc Posted May 18, 2012 at 08:47 PM Posted May 18, 2012 at 08:47 PM I can't say that I really like the house on the inside... There are about two rooms that I really liked... (and the kitchen!). I can't really see them there with the twins. When you think of it, it's not a bad idea that they sell it, get something else (smaller) since they're only there for a few days a year (if there's here at all! ). celine-rc Posted May 19, 2012 at 01:53 AM Posted May 19, 2012 at 01:53 AM I know! It is a bit creepy ! The wine scellar is quite strange ! I would hate to play the taxes on somthing that large, and the up-keep on it , cleaning, cutting the grass ,ext.. Considering that we pay the highest taxes in North America in Québec, I'm sure that it should cost a lot (not always the case though). I'm not sure to understand what you mean Daniel? Honestly, I really can't wait to see how this is going to turn out... Ok, 1: I'm worried about what I been finding out about Celine, some of it (like finding out what her house look like on the inside) is making me feel creepy. Knowing what the outside of a house look like is fine by me but taking a complete tour..... 2: The idea was that someone would go and buy the house and they rent a bedroom or 2 out for guests to stay. Example: I go and buy the house and Roxanne want to come over and stay for a night or so. So Roxanne rent a bedroom and pay say $150 a night. It sort of like a small hotel. emiliejolie Posted May 19, 2012 at 07:47 PM Posted May 19, 2012 at 07:47 PM (edited) I always wondered what this house looked out except from the entrance. I always loved it from the outside but i wonder how can anyone live in such a place. It 's so "heavy" all these curtains, chairs i am sure no one ever sat on. Life is missing. It's beautiful but without soul. The unique good point they sells is that we can see it. Now i want to see the renovated Vegad house .... I guess Celine and Rene want more practical ans simple interiors. Look at the new florida house. By the way is it typical nort american to sell houses all furnished ? The florida mansion was sold all furnished too. Edited May 19, 2012 at 07:54 PM by emiliejolie Quote

The florida mansion was sold all furnished too. It's probably typical to sell this house and the Florida house furnished because they bought the furniture to fit this kind of house. They have no reason to keep all of that furniture and not use it. I'd be happy that I wouldn't have to buy all of that if I bought that size house! Quote
Alex_Incognito Posted May 19, 2012 at 08:55 PM Posted May 19, 2012 at 08:55 PM Celine's selling a house! What does this mean!? It means she's retiring! It means she's having more babies!
