Shamrock_1982 Posted October 27, 2026 at 12:22 PM Posted October 27, 2026 at 12:22 PM I just got a message from home to say a parcel had arrived for me with Céline’s Paris hotel address on the top right hand corner. Looking forward to getting home asap. She kept her word that she’d find a way to make autographs happen, what a woman, what a legend! ☺️ 6 1 Quote

Popular Post rodrigofreitas Posted October 29, 2026 at 04:10 PM Popular Post Posted October 29, 2026 at 04:10 PM From Billboard https://www.billboard.com/pro/celine-dion-record-breaking-comeback-paris-shows/ Celine Dion Makes Record-Breaking $125 Million Comeback in Paris The first leg of her French residency wrapped with historic results. According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, the first leg of her residency, titled Celine Dion Paris, wrapped with $125.5 million and 539,000 tickets sold across 16 shows in September and October. Her comeback residency is anchored at Plenitude Arena in Paris (fka La Defense Arena). A single-venue residency is known territory for Dion. A New Day… (2003-07) and Celine (2011-19), both staged at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, are the two highest grossing residencies in Boxscore history. The former grossed $385.1 million in 714 shows, and the latter brought in $296.2 million in 427 dates. While Celine Dion Paris has yet to crack the top 10 of the highest grossing residencies, its 16 shows highlight how impressive the nine-figure gross is. On a per-night basis, her 2026 dates averaged $7.8 million — more than 10 times the nightly take from either of her Vegas stints. That surpasses U2’s Sphere residency, which grossed $6.1 million per show to become the fastest grossing residency ever. (Residencies are defined as 10 or more shows at a single venue. Extended stays within a larger tour — such as Harry Styles at Madison Square Garden during Together Together or Shakira in Madrid during the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour — do not count). Further, Dion’s average crowd of 33,700 is close to double the next best per-show attendance for any residency in the Boxscore archives. (Billy Joel paced 18,600 tickets during his tenure at Madison Square Garden.) When she claimed her throne in Vegas in the 2000s and 2010s, the most competitive residency venues were The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and MGM’s Dolby Live, topping out at 4,000 and 5,200 seats, respectively. Las Vegas’ Sphere has since blown the door open for arena-sized residencies, selling upward of 15,000 tickets each night for Backstreet Boys, Dead & Company, Eagles and more. While Dion’s Plenitude Arena is technically an indoor arena, its capacity is stadium sized. Dating back to a December 1990 performance at Montreal’s Theatre St-Denis, Dion has grossed $1.3 billion and sold 9.8 million tickets from a reported 1,517 concerts. More than half of that, in terms of gross, attendance and number of shows, stem from her three residencies. Dion is slated to return to Paris next year with 10 shows from May 8 to 29, likely to sell her 10 millionth ticket — and then some. 6 2 Quote

More than half of that, in terms of gross, attendance and number of shows, stem from her three residencies. I don't understand that. According to Pollstar (July 25, 2022), before the Paris residency, she had grossed $ 1,354,352,578 and sold 10,906,984 tickets. She has performed 1,974 shows since 1990 (2,131 since 1983). So if the Paris numbers are correct, she has now grossed $ 1,479,852,578 and sold 11,445,984 tickets. Even if you exclude the 157 shows prior to 1990, which didn't gross much to begin with, the numbers that Billboard gives don't add up at all. But the numbers from Paris on Billboard are correct I'm not discrediting the Paris numbers but there is a massive difference between what Billboard gives as overall compared to Pollstar, which I also find to be the more credible one. Somehow Billboard has made 450+ shows to disappear, along with more than 1.6 million tickets and $ 180 millions in earnings. I remember like it was yesterday when during the CWT in this forum, as well as another one, people were discussing that Celine would soon surpass Madonna overall gross and tickets and if covid and SPS hadn't happened, she would have indeed managed that. So it is surprising to see Billboard dropping her numbers so much across all categories. Quote
