Since high-quality scans of Céline magazines are already being made, why don't we take the opportunity to digitize Céline's photos from those magazines in HD and at a high DPI as well, and finally put an end to the shortage of high-resolution Céline photos? I can contribute my entire archive.

Here's the very first issue of the Celine Dion Fan Club Magazine from September 1985! The Fan Club started a year earlier and Céline's sister Pauline was its president. The magazine was sent to subscribers once every three months, and it featured fun facts about Céline's latest releases among many other interesting things. What a time to be a fan! 😍 More issues are coming next.

The second number was distributed in December 1985. It features a hand-written Christmas message from Céline herself, a long text about how she started working with René and the latest news on her career. Interestingly enough, it mentions Céline spent a day shooting the music video for C'est pour vivre, which I assume is the performance shown on the 1985 TV special. What I find surprising is that the magazine says the video would be released around Christmas, while the special premiered on September 10, 1985.

Also crazy that the Fan Club regularely organized contest to win free tickets to see Céline!

As you can see, this number also includes full lyrics for two of the songs she normally sang in her 1985 tour: La première fois and the Frenglish version of Up Where We Belong.

Number three was released exactly a year after the latest one, in December of 1986! This one contains a long text about Eddie Marnay, messages from fans and full lyrics for Billy, Dans la main d'un magicien and La ballade de Michel. Definitely the most interesting thing about this one is that it mentions Céline recorded Nur das leben (German version of C'est pour vivre) in December of 1986 in Cologne, and she'd go back there in January 1987 to record the rest of her German album. I wonder what happened!

A new official magazine started at some point between 1990 and 1992. Here's the third issue, distributed in the fall of 1992. This one definitely looks more like an actual magazine.

Volumes 4 and 5 from Winter of 1993 include super interesting details on the first and second annual Fan Club meeting. In 1992, Céline surprised a fan by asking him to perform Beauty and the Beast with her ❤️

Last but not least, volume 6 from July 1994 includes photos from Céline's concerts at the Montreal Forum from March of that same year, an exclusive interview with Mego and much more! Lovely to see that still in 1994 they kept organizing those wonderful fan contests to get free VIP and regular tickets to see her. Interesting that another prize was a laser disc of the Plus haut que moi single.

I can't remember in which thread it was where people were asking if Céline can drive... Here's another piece of that story, in the Sept. 1985 issue:

"I took intensive English classes at Berlitz. Also drivers' ed classes, because I really hope to have a car in a few months. I learned how to drive automatic and manual, so I'm ready for anything!" 

Edit: And in the December 1986 issue, they follow up saying that Céline still doesn't have her own car yet, but she drives her mother's, a small Chrysler.
