When were the songs for 'Love Again' soundtrack recorded?

I was wondering, knowing that 'Love Again' the song was recorded in 2022, from the documentary. 

But when were the other ones recorded? Also around that time?

I don't know that it's ever been 100% officially confirmed, but it's pretty sure all the other tracks were offcuts from the Courage sessions, so pre-2019.

These are just my guesses:

Love Again - November 2022 (This was mentioned back when the movie soundtrack came out)

Waiting on You - Fall 2022 (Only reason why I think this is because she sings the song during the recording session for “Love Again”)

The Gift - At some point in 2019. I believe the team behind the song “Soul” is also behind this one, right?

I’ll Be - If I’m not mistaken, must have been recorded at the same time as “The Hard Way” as it was written by the same team of writers.

Love of my Life - December 2017. Recorded during the same sessions as “Boundaries”.

1. There is no way she would’ve been able to record “Waiting on You” in 2022. She could barely get through the whispery “Love Again”. I think that one is a Courage reject.

2. “Soul” was recorded in December 2017, so presumably so was “The Gift”.

And since we’re on the topic of when songs were recorded, I think “Superwoman” was recorded at some point in 2021, before she came off the wrong medication and when she was still planning to start a show in the fall. It would give us a rare glimpse into the timeline of how SPS affected the way Céline sang:

November 2020: “Smile” for home concert honoring nurses

Early-Mid 2021: “Superwoman”

2022: “Love Again”

March 2024: “Hymne à l’amour”

Back in the day it was mentioned she recorded the song in 2016. Don’t know how reliable this is though, as I’m not totally sure if this info came from some kind of press release of it was an assumption made by fans.

That seems much more likely to me than that it was a new recording in 2021 - most likely an early Courage session track that wasn't deemed good enough for the album but was easy for Diane Warren to dust off and get permission to include on her own album a few years later - a nice favor to give to Warren without any additional work for Céline at what was no doubt a more challenging time for her.  The song was also recorded at Warren's studio in LA - would Céline really have traveled to LA for a session in 2021?  It doesn't seem likely to me.

Of course none of us know any of this for a fact and I could be totally wrong in my assumptions, and unfortunately the phonographic copyright on The Cave Sessions is a collective album copyright rather than by individual track, so that doesn't help.

Yeah i personally think it was recorded not long after Rene’s death because at some point of the song, her vocals sounded shaky, it sounded like she cried while recording it. Is it confirmed tho that it was recorded during the same sessions as “Boundaries”?

Yes, I was aware of the photos from late 2016. However, her voice on “Superwoman” sounds like she’s “compensating” (as she has called it) so much, much more than she ever did in late 2016—remember that was around the time of the “Recovering” and “How Does a Moment Last Forever” recordings and those are still very decent vocal takes, especially “Recovering” which sounds beautiful and clear. I also imagined Diane Warren maybe wrote a bunch of songs in 2020-2021 for her roster of singers to record and “Superwoman” was one of them, more likely than them keeping a song that Céline had initially rejected years earlier.

Not officially confirmed, just some assumptions I’m making here. But it would make sense given that she was in the studio with Stephan Moccio at that time.
