Forum server and application layer protocol (HTTP/HTTPS) issues

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

In recent forum sessions, I’ve had trouble staying logged in.

I also noticed that the forum’s website sometimes uses Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) instead of Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). As the name suggests, HTTPS is more secure and is now far more common on the internet than HTTP.

Given that many users here are being logged out unexpectedly, this could be related to how the server is configured.

What can we do to address these issues? Would donations help, or are there other steps we can take?

Let’s discuss potential solutions in this thread.

I’ve tried several browsers, and only Safari can consistently use HTTPS — I can post and reply without issues there. Other browsers can’t post.
