Céline on "Une chance qu’on s’a" - Qc show against COVID-19

I think Celine has the right idea with what she’s doing. It *is* fitting with her legend status. Reminds me of an old saying...

Well she can't very well control all these producers marketing the h*ll out of their shows on the back of her name!

That's the cross you just gotta bear once you reach her legend status. People will use her name left right and center if they can. And they all know she draws audiences - particularly in Quebec - so of course they'll plaster her name all over for clout.

And keep in mind everyone else there (with few exceptions) did one of these shows. She already did three. She's being asked to contribute to these events at a far higher rate than anyone else.

 

It’s been that way for years, she’s always asked to pay tribute to people at award shows and benefits. They can always count on Celine to come in clutch for this type of stuff. That is legend status.

I totally get what you are saying and I really hope you are right but deep inside of me I know that in the end she is the boss as she likes to say.. so whatever she wants to do they will say yes. And unfortunately, this is the result every time . I mean I may appear as an ungrateful fan but I just wish she could sing one song from her own will .

I loved everything about this performance. The song, her voice, her look (including the outfit) were all so amazing! She looks so much better than she did only a year ago and her voice was at least as good as in 2012, if not better.

 

This performance was like the early 2010s all over again

This is a cool video. I really don't know anything about Lara. The line, "je t'ai, tu m'as", was a perfect match of their voices.

As for people complaining she didin't sing enough, Celine may not have made a big appearance but what she said before the song (for a quebecer anyway) is way more impactful than if she had sang 2 or 3 songs.

Her voice was so strong, the placement was perfect and it looked quite easy, while it is quite a very difficult one.

I edited JPF's part at the because in the TV Version, they include JPF's vocals with Céline at the end. But in this version, JPF's part at the end was removed and it's more clear.

I really recommend you listen to these albums more. They’re amazing! Better than her English work.

 

Looking back, I think it would have been lovely and fitting if Céline sang Le Miracle! They could have filmed Québec children of all ages singing the na na na na part! It's a hopeful song, that talks about finding the beauty in any situation!

Quebec is already opening up though. Schools (outside of Montreal) are back on today, stores reopened a week ago.

 

Debatable whether they should, mind you, but they are.

 

And clearly the in-studio filming followed social distancing guidance.

 

Meanwhile, companies like Google and Facebook told employees to work from home until the end of the year...
