mirage Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 "Sources familiar with Dion’s plans indicate she will not likely be on stage this year. But Dion herself has not spelled out atime line for her return." https://www.reviewjo...return-3070771/ Edit: Oh lol, you beat me to it!Good, I need more time to save money.Because those prices will be insane, and I don't have the time this autumn/winter. And i need to be at the first show, they are always magical but especially this time. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-F721B met Tapatalk Quote
Nmj Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Yes, Indeed she sounded exactly how we see her in the doc demonstrating the effect of the disease in her voice. Playing around or not. Don’t t be so dramatic… it wasn’t that bad.., and she was playing around it wasn’t trying. Quote
mirage Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 TYLAM would be an incredible opener, I agree. I also think 'Thankful' would work - she mentioned the word several times in an interview yesterday. Thankful to be hereThankful to feel clearThankful my prayers have been answeredI'm thankful you listenedThankful to heavenThankful for feeling alive againThankful that hearts always mend Could even work as the closing song.Oh yes I've always imagined Thankful as a opener.Curtain drop after 'I caught rainbows when I stopped spinning round and etc)Enter the big note, reveal the choir. Chills!!! When she arrived at the hotel she definitely looked like she just did a show and flew back to Paris in the early morning. It has been some busy weeks for her for sure! Céline RO Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 I wonder if she wasn't being a bit tongue-in-cheek when she said "you heard right" re: the reporter. No doubt she's working on returning, and the logical end point would be a resumption of a Vegas residency. But I don't know how far along in the planning process they would be. Or if everything is still "on pause, up in the air, tenative" as it would have been for the last couple years. She did say in the People interview that they’re currently putting the new show together. That usually means that we’re within a few months of the premiere, right? Quote The best is yet to come...
Ajax Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 (edited) Yeah I'm gonna stop cause I feel bad portraying myself as negative or dramatic while I'm so happy to see her this way and seeing her on stage would be of course amazing if that's what she wants but I'm a bit confused and annoys by several points. I feel that she did not go through The show must go on mode who almost killed her while she's pretending the contrary. I know it helps her going forward which is awesome. I just want her to be cautious about this obsession not repeating the same story. They're plenty of ways to still sings, create music and re connect with fans. Rather than trying to belt TPOL like she used to again and again in a big venue in Las Vegas. I'm not sure I personally want it artistically, my personal feeling is not important ok I must admit, but I'm not sure this is the right thing to do nor this is really reachable. I would say, create new music, explore, build new projects with new producers, in controlled environment, and when you feel it, when you can, organise small concerts in calm environments in few cities here and there. Again (sorry). About everyone saying the demand and prices will be out of this world. Well, let's see. For the first concerts as curiosity sure. Then ? Will general people want to pay (Hotels, plane, tickets...) for someone that can cancel at anytime and who is not the animal on stage she used to be with bombastic belting songs ? That's what Vegas is for. I'm not sure this is in adequation with the new Celine. Finally I have to wonder what's the pressure of AEG here, is she totally free of her choices ? I don't want to disminish her own choices here just that somehow, it can put her in a box, the Vegas box. While they are many possibilities more adapted. Edited June 18, 2024 by Ajax 2 Quote

Imagine if Michael Jackson came back from the dead… or Elvis… or Whitney... Similar situation, except Céline isn’t dead and she is coming back. Seeing her live will now be a more special experience than ever, and I expect that demand will reflect that. And I will say again that I’m confident that Céline will totally be the “animal” that she used to be on stage, killing it with the belts and the moves. She and her team have been saying it all along. As for the freedom, she does have a contract with Resorts World so obviously she’s not perfectly free to choose where she wants to perform. If she does return, she will have to do Vegas, anything else would only be in addition to that. Edited June 18, 2024 by Céline RO 1 Quote The best is yet to come...
Rossum89 Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 A New Day... began on March 25, 2003, a Tuesday. What day does March 25 fall on in 2025? A Tuesday. I know these days most (all?) Vegas shows are dark on Tuesday's but I think the symbolism of returning to the stage on that date would be kismet. 1 Quote http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/3003/newconcertdvddesign3.jpgCredit goes to Timster for the great pic! CelinesDIVO5 Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 But the chorus is perfect. “the whispers in the morning” is one hell of an odd opening line too. Lol This one always made sense when she used POL to open her shows. The lyrics and melody are instantly recognizable and send the crowd into a tizzy! 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
DCCeline Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Lyrical content doesnt matter if the song was a hit. TPOL is the perfect opener because everyone knows it and is there to ehar her sing it. Quote
LukeD Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 Say Celine comes back and her voice is not 100% there like it used to. She can still pull a concert without making too many changes. The Power Of Love, To Love You More, It's All Coming Back To Me Now, I Drove All Night, My Heart Will Go On can be pre-recorded as usual.I'm Alive, A New Day Has Come, Beauty And The Beast are softer songs she will have no problem singing live. She can adjust the key to Because You Loved Me, That's The Way It Is, Ashes, Immortality, The Prayer, Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore and be fine.Add an acoustic medley of rarely performed songs and the show is ready. I am not saying this is what they should do. I am saying the show is feasible. Quote
smw Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 I think many of her songs can be adjusted to be softer. She can just skip songs like All By Myself. I think she could do some playback but it’d have to be strategic because there’s more of a magnifying glass on her voice now than in years gone by since she’s become so public about her vocal struggles. So she could record some new softer versions of some of her songs. But I don’t think she can get away with the big power ballads in playback anymore. 2 Quote
fikus1 Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 I didn't mean to say it yesterday but her little take on ''Right In Front Of You'' sounded rough. Plus, she looked exhausted at the end of the night. She'd better take her time. Well, it was definetely exhausted. It was her first official public appearance in 4 years! It must have been overwhelming. When it comes the bit she sang you might be right, but she was really emotional basically the whole evening. Singing is not easy when your vocal cords are underwater Quote

If it’s a recent playback it could work just fine. She’s been lipping since 92 so I very much doubt that will change. Quote

Plus, she looked exhausted at the end of the night. She'd better take her time. I don't like to judge her by how she sounds while playing around. Even when she was showcasing her operatic vocal scales in that recent interview, they sounded great...but it's nothing compared to how she would sound if she were doing them seriously (and not in the context of the kind of mocking way she was singing them in that particular conversation). But yes, there's still this issue of her chest voice vs. other parts of her voice. Btw, I haven't seen the documentary yet, just saying. Quote

We both haven’t seen the documentary but we already knew that it started since 2008. That’s why her voice changed in 2008 into more thin nasal sound or forced it to sound like that in order to continue touring Edited June 19, 2024 by jpatdeleon09 Quote

But no, things are different now that she spoke publicly of her voice struggles, she can't do that excepts if she re record them with her actual voice. 1 Quote
jpatdeleon09 Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 (edited) Now, that she address about her voice problems due to SPS. I have a feeling that she will eliminate the lipsyncs since the people already know that there will be changes in her voice. Eliminating the high expectations that she can still do the high notes. If she thinks she can do the high part in the particular night, she will just point the mic to the audience Edited June 19, 2024 by jpatdeleon09 Quote
Ajax Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 She can still lip, as long as it sounds like an actual recording. 1 Quote

Céline RO Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 That would be amazing, a Paris residency! I think it was meant more in the sense of a European tour (Céline has said how she really wants to see her “European” fans and to make up for the canceled CWT shows) which would include a few dates at La Défense, just like the CWT was meant to include 6. 1 Quote The best is yet to come...
