Yes and the original show premiere before it was cancelled at Resorts World, was set to donate all the funds to Covid-19 relief.

True so makes sense now will be for SPS instead.

When she gets back to stage I'd like her to sing some underrated gems that have achieved great streaming numbers like 'Just Walk Away', 'Love Doesn't Ask Why', 'I Love You'.

Hopefully ANDHC radio remix gets a proper return as well.

Would love that! I also wonder if she has to choose songs differently with her new/refound voice. Or rerecord playback tracks because they don't match anymore...

She confirmed it one of the interviews I think CBC… she said she cut certain songs and chose to lower the key on others. I think of THE REASON for example, she kept trying to bring that song back and it kept getting cut, I think because she didn’t want to lip it and couldn’t handle the song with her problems at the time.

Also, during the CWT she rested “Lying Down” and opted for “imperfections”

A easier song vocally, when in reality she probably would’ve sang both if she wasn’t struggling.

Hopefully we will finally be able to hear TYLAM in a show… as we seen her and her team view the video during rehearsals at the start of the last Vegas residency but possibly due to her vocal issues it was put to the side.

I honestly think “Courage” would be a great opener, especially now. But TYLAM would be great after a long extended musical interlude of the opening music.

I was wondering about that too. Would it be logical to belt out TPOL or IACBTMN after al she went through and is going through? Maybe stripped down acoustic versions is a possibility.

Anyway I am just happy we heard her story in these interviews. So good to finally see her again.

She lips both, they’ll be there.

When did we see this?

It's on a photo included in the very first "Céline" show programme back in 2011 😉 we can see Céline and her team watching the "TYLAM" music video 💖🌟🎶

But wouldn’t it be weird to use the same prerecorded vocals from TCWT for example?

If they put a new show together I really hope they throw everything from earlier tours and residencies over board and start fully from scratch. As said before, bring in some new songs but of course they will have to include some of the classics hits as always. Bu lower the key or change arrangements to fit the “new” voice and if songs need to be (partially) playback, I think they should rerecord the vocals for those.

The Reason was always a consistent part of certain setlists.

Vegas 2011 and Live 2017, I do not feel this was a song that she couldn't handle.

Fomo and LD are a great example of being cut very quickly.

The Reason only stuck around for six shows in 2017 though. Also in 2011 it was playback so I don’t really count that. I agree with Lying Down and Flying on My Own though. LEE, Regardemoi and Terre were other examples, at least for the case of 2019. Edited by Abodi2002

Id like the Reason if she can handle it

She just sang a snippet of Right in Front of You on the red carpet so maybe shes thinking of singing it. Its very "on the nose" with everything thats going on.

I still can't process how she can come back on stage.

I understand she will and I'm super happy about that but still I can't imagine it. There is no other female entertainer on stage like Celine. The way she own the stage, everything is about the body and the voice. You come to see an athlete, her animality is unparalleled. Of course it is not only that, she has also this vulnerability an softness but still.

How can she manage 2 hours of show or even one ? Even by proposing something different, re interpretation, softer/more acoustic ? All her repertoire would need to be reworked as 80% is about dynamic vocals even in French, would people still come for this new Celine ? For a softer TPOL and IACBTMN? Me yes as I always asked for it, but the general public ? And in this forced context ?

I have also trouble hearing about a stage comeback when the documentary emphasis her pains, ends on her having crisis and vocals troubles while it could have end on her current situation, finding the right medication, living a more normal life? Getting her voice back. But no. Weird timing to announce a stage return.

Now she's very shy and cautious about her actual condition VS where she was during the documentary: talking about being still in rehabilitation, not having back her voice, saying no to the Olympics as it is already a victory for her to wear heels, we hear that it's tuff for her to be in the spotlight for this first red carpet and has to cancel Q§A.

All that is absolutely nothing compared to own a stage for even an hour even with a lower/softer approach.

I can totally see her recording new songs, exploring new styles or even beltings, taking risks, exploring new materials, taking time to explore everything she talked about; jazz, rock, country. Find the right producer, only one or 2 for a global project, take the time in a secure environment. That's what studio recording is for. And I would love that. I would love also a critical acclaim, finally.

But going on stage ?

I also hope there's not ambiguity about a potential pressure from her environment about the stage return: AEG....

Well John k of Las Vegas review journal who’s been saying he’s optimistic about a late Vegas return this year is changing a tune slightly… beware there’s spoilers, I stopped reading.

“Sources familiar with Dion’s plans indicate she will not likely be on stage this year. But Dion herself has not spelled out atime line for her return.”

With all due respect ''I would be lying if I said I'm fine'' is no way to open a show :pinch:

I wonder if she wasn't being a bit tongue-in-cheek when she said "you heard right" re: the reporter. No doubt she's working on returning, and the logical end point would be a resumption of a Vegas residency. But I don't know how far along in the planning process they would be. Or if everything is still "on pause, up in the air, tenative" as it would have been for the last couple years.

But the chorus is perfect.

“the whispers in the morning” is one hell of an odd opening line too. Lol

Let’s see what happens there, could it be Celine waits til Jan of next year instead of late December of this year? :hmm:

Basically a couple weeks difference but a different year lol

TYLAM would be an incredible opener, I agree. I also think 'Thankful' would work - she mentioned the word several times in an interview yesterday.

Thankful to be here

Thankful to feel clear

Thankful my prayers have been answered

I'm thankful you listened

Thankful to heaven

Thankful for feeling alive again

Thankful that hearts always mend

Could even work as the closing song.

I find the idea very funny.

- Curtain drops

- ''I would be lying if I said I'm fine'' ... ''Courage don't you dare let me down''

This is like the opening number of a depressing monologue play :-D

But yeah TPOL is not great either.

I didn't mean to say it yesterday but her little take on ''Right In Front Of You'' sounded rough. Plus, she looked exhausted at the end of the night. She'd better take her time.

Yes but I think she was just playing around, not trying to sing the song. And I’m wondering if she looked exhausted due to mentally watching the film or if she was more self physically exhausted.

Did she sit and watch the film? I can't even imagine watching myself and going through those things. Wonder if just went in back somewhere with her kids.

Yes, Indeed she sounded exactly how we see her in the doc demonstrating the effect of the disease in her voice. Playing around or not.

Once again, I understand her vital needs to be on stage... But she has plenty of opportunities to connect with fans and still creates music in a secure and adapted environment when her shape allows it and with her own timeline. Maybe even on stage in adapted conditions not necessarily in a big Casino in Las Vegas.
