Just a heads up as I've noticed there's a few repeats on in the next couple of weeks on TV that feature Celine.

 

1) 22/12 Pick (Freeview 11) 20:00

Michael Buble's Christmas in Hollywood (from 2015)

 

2) 25/12 Pick (Freeview 11) 21:00

Bee Gees: One Night Only (Recorded live at the MGM Las Vegas in 1997)

 

3) 27/12 BBC4 (Freeview 9) 01:45

... Sings Disney Songs (Seems to be a documentary about this history of Disney songs. Celine is listed as a contributor)

I would usually but I'm moving house on Monday and all my computer stuff is all boxed up. Not sure how I missed it as I usually have an alert on the TV guide for anything with "Celine" in the title or description.

I really enjoyed it. I’m not quite sure about them including “I Drove All Night” as one of her three “defining” songs but it was still great to hear the writer and producer talking about it. I found the whole show to be a very respectful nod to Celine’s career and talent.

Did they say sth. new? Why didn't they talk about MHWGO and TT??

The show focussed in particular on “Because You Loved Me”, “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” and “I Drove All Night.” My best guess would be because they managed to get interviews etc with the producers, writers and others etc involved with those songs.

I did learn a couple of things that I didn’t know or had forgotten.

 

1) she had a terrible cold when she recorded IDAN

2) she did about 30-40 studio takes of IACBTMN

3) BYLM almost didn’t happen as the head of Epic records hated the song. Celine insisted she recorded it and the rest is history.

4) she cut her feet to shreds on stones while recording the video to IACBTMN

I’m moving house this week but when I get 5 mins I’ll edit out the ads and stick it on YouTube or something.

I'm surprised, they didn't mentioned, that they listened to the George Michael album Older during the filming of the IACBTMN video.

I actually really liked this documentary... it was fresh and showed celine in a great light. Everyone was so complimentary of Celine too. As someone posted above, I actually found out a few things I didn’t know.

 

All in all, nothing that will blow you away, but nice to see something new. Kinda wanted more. They didn’t show anything past 2003 other than a few recent pictures in Vegas.

 

I did like how the whole thing was music focussed, can you belive they didn’t even mention Vegas!!
