mirage Posted September 23, 2019 at 02:25 PM Posted September 23, 2019 at 02:25 PM When talking about the younger crowd getting into Celine now and she starts singing 'blame it on the fashion' She is right though, since the fashion stuff started she got noticed by many youngers. So they know it's easy promo for them 6 Quote

scielle Posted October 15, 2019 at 02:55 AM Author Posted October 15, 2019 at 02:55 AM (edited) Just watched this on The National, and it came with a little preamble / intro, plus Tom did a bit of his banjo version of TTWII live in studio at the end. They cut up the interview a lot though (as is expected; they won't broadcast the full half hour on the evening news), and ended up cutting some good parts, unfortunately. Still, nice for it to end up on national TV. Here is the version from tonight's newscast (with a nice little clip from the '80s to open):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeDpU4_T2zI Edited October 15, 2019 at 03:00 AM by scielle 1 Quote

DionFanAlways Posted October 15, 2019 at 09:54 AM Posted October 15, 2019 at 09:54 AM they didn't blur out the finger here Really nice intro. It's not in the States. They would have cut that whole part and you would have just seen them laughing. 2 Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.
Xpresso Posted October 15, 2019 at 04:52 PM Posted October 15, 2019 at 04:52 PM It's great that they kept the finger!! Makes people laugh and realize she is not at all stuck up as some people think. 1 Quote

alexceline Posted November 7, 2019 at 05:56 PM Posted November 7, 2019 at 05:56 PM I always find it so awkward how in both this and the 90s SNL they can't reproduce her quirkiness and therefore have to resort to those 'I am the best singer in the world' etc. She's quite unique to imitate and very few people achieve it without making a fool of themselves (Ana Gasteyer e.g is one of those who made a fool of herself imo) Quote

I'd assume she's super easy to imitate, but most imitators do a terrible job. Especially the English ones. They can't even get her accent right.Laura Landauer is ok though. Quote

The French guy who did the Vogue parody and recently did a Courage interview parody is good. And on MadTV Mo Collins did a good one as well, it's actually one of my favorites. "The hand, the hand" and the way she pops her leg all the time lol I think in general these sketch shows tended to highlight a celebrities flaws to make it funny but they never did it well with Celine because she doesn't have any standout negative qualities, she's just quirky and they fail to work that up most times.
