Chantemoi Posted September 24, 2019 at 09:45 PM Posted September 24, 2019 at 09:45 PM (edited) Or some kind of music man who we can call Mr Sam... Or Billy!! Ever since Pepe entered the picture, that song reminds me of him.... more so than Ziggy. I thought the interview was okay, but it revealed almost nothing we didn't already know. For me, the most interesting tidbit was that Jim Steinman made her record the vocals for IACBTMN over and over and over... That would explain why it's so friggin' perfect. I loved how she got defensive a bit when asked her thoughts about what people thought of the “One Heart” and reaching for a hit, or being desperate to be modern. I loved how she defended the album and choosing those songs! Also, liked what she said about René. I liked what she recalled from filming “You and I” I wasn’t even aware of the Yamaha singing contest bit; and I’ve been a fan forever it seems, somehow I missed that one, so that was interesting. 2 Quote
Xpresso Posted September 24, 2019 at 10:24 PM Posted September 24, 2019 at 10:24 PM Amazingly, some of these new interviews have made me fall back into love with Celine. We don't get the nervous, sing every response...we get thoughtful, intelligent answers. I'm in love.I think someone had a talk with her to get back to the basics of being interviewed... Listen. Answer the questions. Don't sing your answers. 2 Quote

Answer the questions. Don't sing your answers. I think it has to do with the interviewer. Needs someone who seems a bit more “uptight” Celine takes them more serious and gives better interviews; like Larry King all those years and Oprah... problem is it seems like less and less do we see a serious journalist interview her. It seems always these really giddy men and women who are just excited to talk to her and Celine feeds off of that lightness and makes the interview one big joke. That would explain why it's so friggin' perfect. That was one of my favorite parts as well. When she was describing the song and how grand it feels, I was like, "yeah it feels like a movie in song form" and then she said just that. Lol, Celine and I...our minds... XD That's a really timeless song and one of her masterpieces. I was glad to hear her talk about it more in depth. 1 Quote

That’s why she should sing the song in full, it’s an experience that doesn’t do justice in a 3 minute version. 4 Quote

JulienMcbeal Posted September 25, 2019 at 09:49 PM Posted September 25, 2019 at 09:49 PM Billy has always been one of my favorite! Donnez moi le monde un jour et tout ce qu'il faut pour écrire une chansonDonnez moi des choses à dire à ceux qui vont souffrir pendant que nous dansons... Very poetic and emotional, a tidy bit political as it an ode to peace, too.Just beautiful. 4 Quote Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans

zuv Posted September 26, 2019 at 09:17 PM Posted September 26, 2019 at 09:17 PM (edited) Ellen is the worst Ellen likes to make things awkward with Celine... and with any of her guests for that matter. But i think the more famous that guest is the more she likes to make fun of them when an awkward situation happens. Its just that with Celine she’s already very awkward and on top of that theres a language barrier. Unlike with Oprah, she’s all about making her guest comfortable to take the most juice out of them. And Oprah is a Celine Dion fan and understands the whole story behind Celine... Ellen is clearly not a fan of Celine’s songs. Ellen views her as high ratings and Celine views her as good promotion. woodstock Posted October 4, 2019 at 10:33 PM Posted October 4, 2019 at 10:33 PM I really appreciate this interview. So interesting to listen to her talking about her work, her songs, her repertoire, her point of view.Just a thing : most of the instrumental tracks used as background music are not official, they come from version-karaoke Quote

sfbaysinger Posted October 14, 2019 at 04:37 PM Posted October 14, 2019 at 04:37 PM While we didn't learn a whole lot of new stuff through the interview, I loved it cuz I thought it was the longest we've ever gotten to hear her talk uninterrupted. And it makes me wonder what was cut and not used... Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!
