Meet and greet

lol That made me giggle. But it's true though. I imagine Celine probably does want to give each fan their moment. Obviously not always the case. As I have stated many times before during my meet and greet she must have gotten through somewhere from 20-30 people in less then 15 mins.(The extra people just showed up it wasn't planned because I heard their whole conversation before they took us in.) She definitely was running late. (I know she definitely arrived sometime after 7:30 and was on stage at 7:49) Not to mention she still had to run back to her dressing room change and then fix her hair and makeup again. It was probably a little easier when she started wearing the opening outfit for the meet and greet but i'm sure still a bit of a hassle. That's why I think they need to re-think this whole thing. There are so many aspects I feel need to be fixed to make it easier on Celine and easier for the fans. And to make sure the correct people get a meet and greet. For example they could do it the way Jennifer Lopez does her meet and greets. She does it after the show. That way each fan will be able to spend a little more time with her.

 

Yeah but I cannot see her doing the M&Gs after the show. If she did that, she would never finish greeting fans. I think the reason she does it before the show is mainly because there's a limited time, so fans are aware about that and cannot stay chatting and taking pictures with her forever.

 

Besides, we all know that when the show finishes Celine rans off immediately and all she wants to do is go home with her kids, so... To me a M&G after the shows is out of the question.

However Celine is a family woman so she goes home to her kids. When I went in August of 2015 two days after the premier, she could not go any faster!! She ran off the stage at the end! She didn’t even bow that night or do that signature pose she always does to her band members, instead she ran of after Somewhere Over The Rainbow and looked like she was too emotional! However now since she’s over her grieving period, I think it might be smarter to do meet & greets after :-) Could you see her doing it?

You're both right about the whole after the show scenario but it was just an idea but I see what you guys mean. All I wish was for me to have had a few extra seconds to say something like "Celine I just want to thank you for all you have done for me without knowing it. I love you" or something along those lines. That's it then I would have gladly left. I asked her brother before she came in and he thought I'd have time to tell her that. I asked because he had told me not to take too long cause of how many people were there. He seemed a bit shocked when they handed us our things. He was lovely though even high fived us on the way out. Also Celine was great she was not I repeat not the one who told us to leave. But I could definitely feel that something was on Celine's mind. Maybe it was the virus she was still fighting or maybe it was the fact that she had extra people to greet which weren't even supposed to be there. And that certainly didn't help because they were already running late. Again not her fault, things happen I understand but I can see why they feel the need to temporarily pull this in order to fix things. Another thing which I would tell them if they asked me for my opinion would be that they should let people in one by one. Having everyone in one room doesn't help the situation. It can be very intimidating. Anyways please understand (and to Celine's people if they are reading this) I am not at all ungrateful in fact I am super grateful. I know how many people would kill to even have 5 secs with her so I consider myself to be extremely lucky. I am just giving my opinion in what I would change if I had the opportunity. Please understand I know Celine owes me nothing Even the fact she gives fans such an opportunity is extremely gracious of her. As I have stated time and time again I will always cherish the time I did have with her and I will never be able to repay her and her team for giving me such an opportunity.

 

Sometimes as it was here things work well in the beginning and then by the end don't for one reason or another. Also sometimes it works well on paper or in your head but then executed it doesn't. I don't blame anyone here but I do agree with them and everyone here things need to re-worked and re-thought out before they continue the meet and greets.

 

Also I want people to understand why my story seems a bit different from the original version. When I initially got back I remembered nothing only what mom told me. Now as time passes me and mom remember more and more details each day.

Kristina, I feel how grateful and thankful you are for the seconds you spent with Céline

 

I wish we had Ramona's opinion on this. Surely she has spent hours and hours with Céline and meters from her judging by the amount of times she has attended her shows and had meet&greets, which at this point, I'm inclined to think not all of them were fairly granted

I can't edit my previous post now so I will just add this in. For those who are sitting and reading my previous post or have read any of my previous posts on this topic. I am sure many are thinking how ungrateful I must be. Well first off I have to explain myself. Perhaps maybe yes I expected too much. You have to understand my only other meet and greet experience was with Kelly Clarkson (and what I've seen on Celine's DVDs ) With Kelly's meet and greet the fans went in one by one. I was last and had time to talk to her (and thanks to my mom)as she wasn't rushed infact she finished early and she had ALOT of people as well. From what I remember with that one most people before me didn't say much to her. We were separated into two rows. One side was the fan club the other was the radio winners. With Celine I was first and everyone was all in the same room. I am a very shy person and so I don't speak a lot to begin with(I know hard to believe) so that added to my stress. Also I find that when you read many meet and greet experiences online not many people actually say what type of convo was exhchanged with Celine. I am more then happy for the people who do and did have the chance to speak to her properly and say something besides just the standard. Even if I was last I realize it could have gone either way she could have had time to speak to me more freely or she still could have been extremely rushed. I feel though on that particular night due to the circumstances it wouldn't have mattered whether I was first or last. I still wouldn't have had much time to speak to her. As I said these things happen and I understand that. Celine was great(even with the few little standard words we did manage to exchange) said and so we're her team.

 

As I said earlier with each passing day I remember more and more details. I am happy to say I now do remember going forward to shake her hand when she said nice to meet you and saying it's Really nice to meet you. Also when we were leaving she said Thank you for coming and lovely to meet me and to take of myself. And I said You Too!! All I could keep saying to everyone was thank you thank you. Her team was giggling at how happy I was when I was leaving I sounded like a broken record My mom told me she had never in 26 years seen me so happy. It was a sight she never thought she would see. Also she is always very thoughtful. Despite the fact my mom told her she didn't need a picture she insisted the three of us take one and then said she would also take one with me too. Her tone was very motherly and calming. I also thought it was wonderful that despite the fact her brother went to introduce me she already knew my name. She didn't have to grab my hand and pull me into a semi hug and yet she did!! We were prewarned that we weren't supposed to hug her or anything like that to let her feel you out.

 

I later learned from my mom she could sense that I had frozen up so she was about to turn to Celine after the photo and tell her how big of a fan I am and how much she has inspired me and such(in hopes to wake me up so I could start to chat like she did with Kelly) but she didn't have a chance because we were handed our bags by someone. Celine was not the one who stopped the conversation from happening so please do not think I am blaming her in any way. I also totally understand why her team had to do it this way they had no choice that night I feel. But come on I am allowed to be a bit frustrated right? I suppose many times you plan in your head how something will go but then one thing or another happens and ruins your plans. Looking back on everything now it wasn't as bad as I thought infact considering everything else it went pretty good. At the time I wrote my original review things are very fresh and still a blur but as I said as time goes on and I remember more and more of it So which is why I am here trying to explain that I am not ungrateful (maybe a bit too honest at times) but I am realistic and when something like this happens I will give my opinion. Again I am only doing that because I've had experience with it. Apologies for repeating myself endlessly but I am sure many people are probably puzzled at why my meet and greet review seemed a bit negative. I felt I had to clear things up. I think sometimes my thoughts sound better in my head then when I write them down on here and hence sometimes get taken the wrong way. I am so sorry if I have repeated myself endlessly but it's 2am here. This couldn't wait though. Had i waited I probably would have forgotten have the things I wanted to say.

 

Last thing no one knows this but when I returned from my trip my health declined rapidly. In fact I probably should be dead right now but the whole time I thought of Celine. I thought how lucky I was to even get to meet my idol. Something I never thought could or would happen to me. She gave me this energy that I had lost for a while. It was the will to go on to find strength no matter what. I just kept thinking if I could fulfil a dream I never thought possible why can't I prove my doctors wrong and I did. So you see this meet and grey meant more to me then most people including Celine herself will ever understand. It gave me back my life my will to go on and fight everyday and be strong. I've met JLO after her show in Vegas. Yes it's after the show but because there are so many people it's even quicker than Celine! Felt like a bit of a production line.

By far the most relaxed meet and greet I've ever had is with Shania Twain in Vegas after the show. About 12 people and super chill and non rushed.

Celine could consider doing them after but she's probably exhausted by then.

Oh you said it was in the lounge room? Where is that? Someone had said they now did it in her dressing room. Aw thank you so sweet. I am so glad you are able to see how grateful I truly am. I was afraid that maybe my posts on this issue were making me seem ungrateful.

I agree with you and everyone else on this but I suppose I can still sorta see her doing it especially since she didn't mind stopping and signing and taking pics with fans after the show at her hotel in Paris this summer.

 

I am also curious to see how her timing changed from let's say September 2016 to May 2017. Was she always on stage at the same time or no. I'll go back and have a look. Should be interesting to see if the meet and greet and the increasing number of people as months went on had an effect.

She cancelled doing M&G's with fans during the middle of the tour due to "timing issues"... so now all fans are in the same boat!

So your not ungrateful for wishing you had more time! When we had ours we had a celeb who’s name I won’t mention because he’s not that good lol but he stepped on my mom and kept walking and Talia was super rude to my mom and I and another group!! So there are things I wished didn’t happen at mine! But one thing that fixes everything is Celine lol

Aw thank you! I am so glad my message from last night got through to people and now they can have a bit of a clearer understanding of what I've been trying to say this whole time. Of course no meet and greet is perfect there are always little kinks here and there. Maybe I am a bit picky but I think it's because this time I was left with a feeling of "oh no it's over but wait just need to say one little thing" type of feeling while I didn't get that with my other one. Again circumstances and all that will always factor into the outcome so I understand that. It's funny this morning me and mom were discussing it and she was like "no way you had close to a minute" I was like what? no it was like 30 secs to me" She reminded me of how the extra photo and her also greeting my mom also took up some time I would have otherwise had most likely to speak to her. And then you also don't want to be rude in any way. You kinda just want to let Celine tell you what to do next. Atleast this is how I was. I didn't want to do anything that may upset her or her team so I kinda left it to her. Just so many things that ran through my mind it's endless. I wanted to be calm and not go crazy and frighten her in any way. But then I didn't want to freeze(which ended up happening regardless LOL!) I could probably sit here for hours and tell you guys but I won't I'll spare you haha

It was in her dressing room where they have been doing them most the year. They made us wait in the "meet and greet room/green room?" (where they had a big camera set up happening) to be briefed. Then moved us up the corridor to a dining room with white table and plastic chairs. Then we went one by one into her dressing room when called.

That is awesome. I love hearing good meet and greet stories like this.I remember her hands were cold and I remember hearing her heels when she was coming. I could also hear her talking to her brother in french and she was laughing. Her voice seemed tired but that was prob her cold. I remember thinking when she got on stage wow her makeup looks so different on stage then it did in the meet and greet room. Like if I didn't know any better i would have thought they totally re-did her makeup

 

I haven't heard many meet and greets from the AND Vegas show. I wonder what those were like. Was it really a big group like it was shown on the dvd?

I'm not just thinking about myself regarding this, I do actually feel for other people/fans too... like the many others who put requests in for the chance for the 2nd half of the tour.

 

So for me doing the same in Vegas is the right thing to do!

I talked to a friend of mine who like's another artist and she told me that they only allow only 10 to 12 ppl they also incude Sound checks with that as well, maybe that's what celine should do , is limit the amount of ppl that get to go back stage for a M@G.So that it gives her more time to spend with her fans ,

I think it's not wrong to wanna meet your idol or seeing her closely more than once in a life time because you love her and I totally get that. Don't let other people's opinions bother you.I never really had a chance to take a picture with her yet except one I had while I ask for her autograph during the show and a fan from Italy that never knew before took it for me. Therefore, I'm happy for you that you've got a nice picture with her and I hope you've got your chance again. Hopefully I 'll have my actual photo with her someday too good luck=)

They're not entirely cancelled.. they're working on a new system is all. As far as I know as of now it's just restricted to celebrities, team, and honoring from past cancellations for the time being
