Celine and mental health

Guys, in this topic I would like us to discuss how Celine managed to remained grounded despite everything that is happening in the world of show business, but also family, marriage childhood experience with bullying, the death of her husband etc., and whether or not she ever had therapy sessions to remain healthy and centered. The reason why I asked myself this question is her often repeating phrases like „the best is yet to come“ and other very optimistic things commonly used in professional therapy or self help books. What are your thoughts on this?

This is such a great topic and I am sorry that it was overlooked until now. I have learned so much from Celine and gained so much wisdom and knowledge from things she has said over the years that I've shared with others who have found it to be tremendously helpful. She's given me a lot of language to use when you don't really have the words to communicate to others during tragedies or hard times. I absolutely agree that things she has said have been remarkably insightful and very therapeutic. I think we, as her personal fans, are the ones that benefit the most since she's often acting silly in the short clips most people see her on (which we know is her humility)--and that it would be great to document some of these things here so they stay preserved.

Case in point: when she handled that unruly woman who stormed the stage in Vegas. This was a wonderfully-written article about just how amazing Celine's response to that woman was:

Please share more, guys!!

Yes, in the recent interviews she gave after the release of Courage she also said sth along the lines of "It's important to get help, be it from family, friends or professionals." I think that over the years she had therapy to remain grounded (not because something was wrong with her, but just to cope with everything like fame and the downsides of showbusiness etc.) What do you think?

People don't often give her credit for it, but I think Céline is incredibly wise and has been from a very young age.

I think she just naturally grasps (about life, about the world) what a lot of people fail to understand even after years of therapy. And I think she does it mostly by empathically listening to and learning from others (not necessarily therapist). She is naturally susceptible to positive and tolerant worldviews and her extreme sense of empathy is what ultimately kept her grounded imo.

Unfortunately, because of her very unstructured way of expressing herself, her true wisdom often doesn't manifest itself, especially in those American 'soundbite' interviews.

Luckily, the empathy always shines through.❤️

I think René made sure she got professional help/advice to help her deal with fame and money. And I would think that started around the time she cried on TV during the Lise Payette interview - crying about family asking her for money and crying about wanting to tell the world she was in love.

I often think her wisdom doesn’t translate well out of French. But I do think wisdom and life comfort in general comes from being surrounded by a lot of older family members and folk in general from a young age...which Céline has been.

Her siblings and parents, older singers from Quebec, Rene ofc, older folks and professionals in French music and media.
