browseceline Posted May 19, 2019 at 12:27 AM Posted May 19, 2019 at 12:27 AM Those "professional" juries keep voting for Sweden and the public keeps not wanting Sweden to win again ...Sweden had a generic popsong imo. i did not feel it, it was not bad by any means but just did not have enough wowfactor. when The Netherlands did not win my choice would have been Azerbeidzjan or Zwitserland. angelil78 Posted May 19, 2019 at 10:18 AM Posted May 19, 2019 at 10:18 AM Wow what a night!! In my opinion this Eurovision was over all very good. Many bad songs got through from Tuesday because of the 1st semi final was very weak and many good songs were left behind in the 2nd Semi final because it was a strong one. I think Israelis did well. I loved the graphics on stage. But yeah some errors lol, like you could see the camera men in wrong places, Hollands ballgate, and when the Icelandic contestants where singing "Hate will prevail and Europe's heart impale, bun off its web of lies" The sound went out for a few sec. But overall I think Israel did a great job. When the Icelandic contestants waved the Palestinian flag, the security came and ripped it out of their hands. Not everyone in the group knew that the Palestinian flag was going to be waved and were shaken by the security and one of the dancer was scared of the aftermath and wanted to go to the hotel. Well, they were in Israel, what did they think would happen??? Anyways, WTF was wrong with the Jury???? They are seriously political! really! Their votes were very predictable at times and way to different from what the public wanted. I was very bored when the 41 jury votes were read because I knew they wouldn't reflect what the public wanted. I think how they read the public votes was very exciting. At first I was like WTF, this is stupid but it turned out to be exciting! I'm happy The Netherlands won, Congratulations! I was hoping for Switzerland to be higher and I really liked the Italian song. Oh and Germany got 0 point!! lol and the Swedens face when they saw how few votes they got from the public haha. I felt sorry for him. I did like the song. And honestly I didn't think Germany deserved 0 points. 3 Quote
angelil78 Posted May 19, 2019 at 10:30 AM Posted May 19, 2019 at 10:30 AM btw i felt so embarrassed for Madonna.. i have never seen her failing like this..i felt sorry for her.. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPad met Tapatalk It was terrible!! She knew she couldn't get the high notes, you could hear that in the beginning. She deliberatly sang the song so she didn't have to hit the high notes. And btw the notes weren't that high in the original version! And even then she was out of tune. And then the song Future. I liked the song but the whole song was sung in auto-tune. Was that because she can't really sing live anymore?? I thought a lot about Céline. I hope this isn't what waits for her in 10 years. 1 Quote
angelil78 Posted May 19, 2019 at 10:55 AM Posted May 19, 2019 at 10:55 AM I need to say something else. Eurovision should not be a political competition. It is however. I want the jury out. Today I think the public is way more aware of different music than they were when we started voting like this. When the public only voted for their neighbours because they sang songs to melodies they were used to hear. Now people love diversity in music. I want Eurovision to have more rules regarding lyrics and staging. No political message. Sure there are rules at the moment but apparently it's easy to bypass. I want countries in open conflict with other countries to be banned from hosting Eurovision. They can participate but not host. So far the countries that have hosted Eurovision in the last years and are in a conflict are Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Israel. I might be forgetting some.. Just few days before this years Eurovision there was bombings in Tel Aviv. In Ukraine there was active fight between east and west Ukraine. Russia was in fights with former Soviet Union countries in the south and Azerbaijan is in conflict with Armenia. I want countries banned from hosting Eurovision who do not respect basic human rights. Everyone should be allowed to perform or attend Eurovision without fear of how they will be accepted in the hosting country. 2 Quote
ErwinG Posted May 19, 2019 at 02:48 PM Author Posted May 19, 2019 at 02:48 PM It's not our fault we have a good song, artist and stage performance I am not saying it's Sweden's fault; but if the "professional juries" keeps giving the highest point to Sweden year in and year out, the public will notice that and not vote for you ... which has happened in the last 2 years as you can see ... Maybe next year, it happens that Sweden is not #1 anymore, but the public won't find out until the end of the show, after they have already voted - so it still won't make a difference; but it can help the next year, when we are in Cyprus 2021 Quote

ErwinG Posted May 23, 2019 at 09:37 PM Author Posted May 23, 2019 at 09:37 PM (edited) Not sure if you guys are following the news, but the EBU made some changes to the results The Belarusan juries' results were dismissed as they had posted their results of the 1st Semi-Final against EBU regulations; to have results from Belarusian juries, EBU made a "fake result" (based on the results of other countries with similar voting records) - so the results were verified and announced on #SaturNight where the Netherlands won. Following a review, due to a human error, an incorrect aggregated result was used; so they "fixed" this and announce the "real" results: North Macedonia is now the Jury Winner; while Norway remains the Televote Winner Because of these changes: Sweden is now #5 and Norway is #6 Below are the full results: Netherlands (498 points) Italy (472 points) Russia (370 points) Switzerland (364 points) Sweden (334 points) Norway (331 points) North Macedonia (305 points) Azerbaijan (302 points) Australia (284 points) Iceland (232 points) Czech Republic (157 points) Denmark (120 points) Cyprus (109 points) Malta (107 points) Slovenia (105 points) France (105 points) Albania (90 points) Serbia (89 points) San Marino (77 points) Estonia (76 points) Greece (74 points) Spain (54 points) Israel (35 points) Belarus (31 points) Germany (24 points) United Kingdom (11 points)They will be reviewing their processes and hope this does not happen again! What do you think? Edited May 23, 2019 at 09:39 PM by ErwinG Quote
fred Posted May 24, 2019 at 01:13 PM Posted May 24, 2019 at 01:13 PM Quite the scandal since they are so good at telling how correct their system is. It's a relief we (Sweden) got above Norway, but I am amazed at that Norway was the televoters' favourite! Really?! 😂😂😂 I mean REALLY!!!! Quote Peace and love to all.
