Hello everyone, thanks for accepting my request...my name is Gianmaria and I'm from Verona, Italy...Strange as it may seem, I'm quite a new fan even if I'm 50 years old. I've been immersed in all kinds of music all my life but it was only until recently that I allowed Celine's music to reach me and I totally fell for it in a way I didn't experience with other artists, except The Beatles (my biggest musical heros) when I was a kid. I'm learning her repertoire and building a discography very fast, I love all her production since the beginning but I have a soft spot for her french songs. Sometimes I feel like I have been missing a lot not being a fan ever since her first international hits but I was into totally different music at the time, in reality I think it's never too late and after all her work is there to be enjoyed beyond age and fashions. I must add that her songs help me to face a difficult time with ill family members and I hope to find some new friends in this community.

What a cool name. I know I am several months late but welcome. I can say yes, you have missed a lot by not being a fan, and at the same time, we're ready when we're ready and we're not ready until we are. It's never ever too late and it warms my heart to know she has a new fan even this late/advanced in her career. I don't know much but her French music is probably most of what I listen to. And yes, I can relate, no singer until her has touched me as deeply as she has, as quickly as she has, as intensely as she has. Have fun learning her music, do not hurry/force/rush yourself through this, this is the fun part. I have found, mostly in English, many, many lines of her songs that I would sing back to her if I could. I hope that happens for you, too as the feelings grow and become deeper, more natural in you. And I hope you do find many friends here.

Thanks for your special welcome, SFBaySinger...you're right, we're ready when we're ready and now is the time!...I'm not rushing myself but I'm quite a fast learner and whenever something appeals to me that much I have to get really involved. It's been a short time since my post above, her english songs are growing on me more and more and I'm already into serious collecting. By the way, I see you're from San Francisco... Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Doobie Brothers and The Tubes are among my all time favorites...I don't know if there are many Celine fans who enjoy that kind of rock acts but music has no boundaries and if I hadn't had broad taste in music probably I wouldn't be listening to Celine now.

Hi maclen, same here! I always liked Célines music, since Think twice, but I became a die hard fan after seeing her for the first time live  ...and this was in 2016.

So I am a late starter too, but it is never too late to admire and support our Queen. :innocent:

Good to have you here!!
