Isn't his phrasing a bit odd? Would've worked better if he did an English version of it.

This is the most awful Josh Groban interpretation I've ever heard. And I love this guys music since "You raise me up" @ Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004! Either the song doesn't fit to his voice or something else is wrong. It sounds loveless, the articulation ragged and the whole song sounds like a performance of an amateur.

 

Why, the hell, did he have to choose this very song? He most have loads of own material and offered other material in his "drawer". Why didn't he choose a new own?

 

But the most strange thing is: The song's produced by Humberto Gatica! Eh, Humberto, what's up? What happend to your sense of music? Did you really think this is GOOD? :unsure:

it is a difficult song to sing , even for a french person. It has a rythmn that Celine gave to this that is very hard to follow. And he has difficulty with some of the sounds, like AIT, . When we hear that Celine sings with her nose, it is nothing comparres to him in that song. There is no progression in the song, it begins and goes the same way all along. Too much instrumention. No lightness. And yet , most people find it good. If it gives some new exposure to the song, why not.

Yes, exactly ... the lightness misses! But even without knowing Céline's wonderful rendition, this song doesn't fit his voice.

Sounds like Ginette Reno when he sings. Definitely the wrong key.

 

Berk! His french accent is lamentable. Shame, because he is quite a talented singer.

Trying to make it "Opera-ish" does not help the fact some words sound a ittle bit off, like he is doing it by sounds and having no idea what he is saying....

 

I love Josh's voice, but I'm not too fond of the opera sound. He can sound sooooo smooth and perfect. I wish he sang it softer, like February Song.

 

Sidenote to Josh in general: I think Josh is better when he uses less vibrato.
