I was out and about today and on the radio they were playing a country station and the song was I drove all night, it was sung by some country guy. It was really funny, anyone hear it before?

Nope. I only heard the Cindy Lauper Version of that song. Well she sounds great in that song

I've only heard Celine's and Cindy's versions of IDAN also but I heard about Roy Orbison's version of the song too.

you know what i was downloading this song (Roy's one) on a share file programme and i was listening to it (not finish downloading) and then there's error and i can't use that software again ........... i hate it.......

 

anyway Roy's version it's alright but well Celine's version is the best

I still haven't heard Roy's version. Cyndi's voice fits the song very well plus the nice musical arrangements.

I've heard Roy's version plenty of times cuz my aunt bought the dvd and cd of Roy Orbison a while back. Anyway he was the first to sing it way before Cindy and Celine. He's passed away in 1991 (I think or was it 1988 one of the two) I don't think he sings it better than Celine nor does my aunt and she likes Roy Orbison's music a lot.

I haven't heard it before, but I remember it being by some country group called Pin Monkey, or something like that.

I just noticed 'I drove all night' is not listed in Céline's UK chart history...

According to Wikipedia, the single reached number 27. Any idea why it wouldn't be included?

Sony Music UK made the worst stupid mistake back then to NOT release the IDAN as a single in March, 2003. Instead they waited until September to release One Heart with IDAN as a double A side... So that's why they list OH at 27, but they don't mention IDAN.

Thanks for that! You're right that was a crazy move because IDAN was much more popular than OH! It's one of the couple of upbeat Céline songs you just might get a DJ to play at a party in the UK - the other being I'm Alive, which funnily enough was played when I was out on Saturday night.

 

What's even better is when Céline starts the mhmmm hmmm hmmmm, All my friends look at me and sarcastically go Oh no 😂

I think her version is best of all. Everything before her sounded like songwriter demo songs and she pull out her best and most finished version.
