Elaine Posted March 8, 2009 at 07:40 PM Posted March 8, 2009 at 07:40 PM (edited) Hi everybody! There's this Tv show here in Brasil which airs on Sundays, and they have a special part for people who are impersonators to show their work. Last week there was this girl named Patricia Maia, who was a Céline impersonator and she sang "My heart will go on". I just came to know about it a couple of days ago, so I thought it'd be nice to share. They also show a piece of Céline herself singing the song from the Las Vegas DVD. My opinion is that she neither looks like Céline or sings like her, but I found some similarity at the "You'll stay..." part. Give your opinions too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oQsi6Kuf4E P.S: She had standing ovation. I can imagine how people would react if it was Céline herself! Costa Santos Posted March 8, 2009 at 08:15 PM Posted March 8, 2009 at 08:15 PM (edited) Patricia has become known among Celine's Brazilian fans. We've supported her since we first saw her as Celine Dion. I talked to her a couple of times in the last couple of days so that I could know more about her life and career: she does love Celine - she's a big fan of our "petite québécoise". She told me she would go on... The guy who introduced Celine, then, Patricia, is Fausto Silva. He said: - "she's sold more than 200 million albums. She's one of the greatest and most sincere singers in the history of international music. She recorded more than 750 songs. From Quebec, Canada, to the world: CELINE DION... P.S.: his TV show is one of the most watched TV shows in Brazil. reamary Posted March 9, 2009 at 07:50 PM Posted March 9, 2009 at 07:50 PM Well she sang ok, but my opinion is also that she didn't really look like Céline, nor sing like her. The hair and the makeup had been made similar, but otherwise there was nothing in common really. And in general I just don't like to see these impersonators as Céline, it's so "fake". Not that this Patricia Maia was a bad singer! Just not like Céline. hesanbrazil Posted March 7, 2018 at 03:01 AM Posted March 7, 2018 at 03:01 AM Lilian de Melo is Brazilian but she's lived in Los Angeles for 17 years. During that time people used to think that she was Celine and she's been through every sort of experiences, good and bad ones, as the "celebrity" that she's never been! We've made a video where she tells some of the best (and weird) stories of fans messing things up. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/Z7ZmHbR0adQ(English spoken, captions in English, legendas em Português, sous-titres en Français.) Quote Henrique Acquavivayoutube.com/hesan2000
