And I never never thought they would really "perform" together.

How long has it been since he used her song and they met in Vegas?

 

So next year a few festivals here and there? The crowd loves her!

Whaaaa? That's the last thing I expected to wake up to.

 

How awesome! Although I guess not that surprising when you consider that a) it's Steve Aoki and b ) Omnia = formerly Pure, where she was part owner, right?

 

So great to see her try so many new things this past year!

 

Maybe now that Pepe's back in Vegas she'll be back to going out with him :msn-wink: Maybe we'll see her hangin' in bars on the strip at 2am! LOL

I frickin' love this! What a nice surprise to wake up to. Love it and her!

 

I wonder if she had to get past the bouncers at the door....... :sofunny:

 

Edit: I love the crowd singing with her. What a difference the setting makes.... Within a matter of a few feet she goes from the Colosseum and NO audible (I know we sing with her but you can never hear it) singing with her to Omnia and everyone singing with her. Shake my head....

Haha I completely agree that her part in that song is to fake.. 50% off and it would be amazing. I don't understand why she thinks she need to exaggerate it like that. But still, her participation there is quite chic. We should want her, at her status, to appear in thing like this. Especially in a camp of musicians where she's hasn't been very relevant in the past.

 

But still, faking a little raspiness is not as worst as faking you're a cool chick getting loose in tha club :P

Her appearing there with Steve could have been great, classy even, but this way it simply make her look like a pathetic karaoke act.. I'm very sorry :(

I just love that she can do Leonard Cohen one day and Steve Aoki the next.

 

(That's why I love Elvis Costello - one day he's a punk rocker, next day he writes an orchestral ballet score. And everything in between. No genre barriers.)

 

You don't have to love it all - but appreciate the range of artistry, ya'll! (Not to mention the fact that doing this stuff, she's reaching completely different fan bases. I say give me more, Celine! I'm all for that MHD collab, and more like it.)

P.S. ESPECIALLY when it's all for charity, as these two appearances were.

Some on here are acting as if she were changing her religion, as if this was all she's going to do from this point onward. Relax.

These were one-offs with a specific purpose, and she did what was appropriate for the occasion, in each case.

Hope we see more surprise appearances like this going forward.
