Andra Day, Celine Dion, DNCE, Nick Jonas, Tori Kelly, John Legend and many more will show how deep their love for the Bee Gees at a special Grammy salute next month. The performers will join Little Big Town, Demi Lovato, Pentatonix and Keith Urban on stage for "Stayin' Alive: A Grammy Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees" on Feb. 14 in the live concert taping at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Legendary Bee Gees co-founder Barry Gibb will join them during the tribute to the five-time Grammy winning family band that will take place just two days after the 59th annual Grammy Awards. The event, a collaboration between the Recording Academy, AEG Ehrlich Ventures and CBS wil serve as a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the group's legendary Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.

Seven-time Grammy winner and Bee Gees co-founder Gibb will be on hand to perform some songs from the album, which won the Album of the Year honors at the 21st annual Grammy Awards in 1979. More performers will be announced soon for the event, with tickets on sale today (Jan. 27) at 10 a.m. PST at www.axs.com and ticketing@grammy.com. The special will be broadcast later this year on CBS.

"The Bee Gees—Barry, Robin, and Maurice—were international musical icons who helped make Saturday Night Fever an emblem of 1970s pop culture," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy in a statement. "With expert harmonies, undeniable groove, and a personal charisma matching their on-stage persona, the iconic band of brothers defined not just a genre, but a generation. I'm looking forward to celebrating one of the most famous soundtracks ever produced and reliving Saturday Night Fever, once again."

"The Bee Gees created many of pop music's most memorable anthems and to be able to gather some of music's brightest lights together to salute this great legacy is very exciting to me," added Ken Ehrlich, executive producer of AEG Ehrlich Ventures. "Presenting new versions of these great songs promises an evening of true highlights, both for the artists themselves and millions of music fans. I'm proud to share a 42-year connection with Barry and his brothers and look forward to helping to create an amazing night of music and memories."

"Stayin' Alive: A GRAMMY Salute To The Music Of The Bee Gees" is produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures, LLC. Ehrlich and Rac Clark are the executive producers of the show, Ron Basile is the producer and David Wild is the writer.

Los grammys rinden, este año, homenaje a los Bee Gees y, Céline, junto a otros artistas, pondrán su granito de arena, para darnos un gran espectáculo. Aún se desconoce la fecha en la que se emitirá por la televisión, pero ya se sabe que se grabará el próximo 14 de febrero, en el Microsoft Theater de Los Angeles. El especial se emitirá por el canal CBS.

 

Si alguien está de paso en esa fecha por la ciudad angelina y le interesa asistir, puede conseguir sus entradas en www.axs.com o en ticketing@grammy.com

 

 

Salvo sorpresa de última hora... creo que tenemos claro lo que va a interpretar ¿verdad? :-D

Me parece que no, esta vez le tocará subirse al escenario en LA. Supongo que por esas fechas estará también grabando su aparición en The Voice, así que matará dos pájaros de un tiro.

Lo hizo genial. Es una de mis canciones preferidas. Se ve hermosa y cantó hermoso. Me alegro mucho que es homenaje pero es cantando una canción suya.

Ya, pero jolín... me hubiera encantado que cantara también Stayin' Alive. Immortality no me gusta mucho, es demasiado empalagosa... :whistling1:

 

Pero bueno, celebro su participación. :)

En primer lugar, me gustó mucho la emoción alrededor de su presentación. Desde hace casi 20 años que Immortality es una de mis canciones preferidas de su repertorio (aunque no me gusta que los imite en la versión de estudio). La canción merece más visibilidad en su catálogo.

 

Vamos a la actuación. Me pareció que en ciertas sílabas sonó desafinada. Cuando dice "I'm sorry I don't have a ROLE" se notó mucho. No se quién le aconsejó las extensiones y las ondas... un look más apropiado para Halloween.

 

Adoro la canción. Espero que de 20 millones de visitas en youtube el video suba a muchos más porque se lo merece y que Celine siga incluyéndola en los conciertos.
