Read the article here - I'm not posting it but I thought it very worthy of mention as JDM has been a longstanding supporter of Rene and Céline - I'm surprised they allowed a columnist to make such a scathing post. It truly is awful.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion IMO. .. lol. And if she doesn't like Celine... she'll just have to do what we do with this columnist.... IGNORE!

The mere act of writing this column suggests that the columnist has issues herself. Despite saying that she has the house and the job of her dreams she sounds like a very bitter person.

There are numerous inaccuracies in what the member of the public says. She seems to be one of those people who just soaks in any conspiracy or scandal that the tabloids spew out without actually looking at any facts and is unable to use their own judgement as to what to believe and what not too.

 

In fairness as well the JDM do not seem to be agreeing with her.

I'm sure she can't take these things seriously, because obviously I'm sure she knows she's got a loyal fanbase... which obviously wouldn't be there if this trash was true

She always used to say she didn't read anything, but Rene read *everything* about her. (There was one hilarious editorial about this that said, "Hi, Rene," assuming he'd be reading it )

I wonder how much Aldo reads.

 

The author of this article is ridiculous, though. Clearly knows nothing about Celine. Talks about the sexual assault allegations from years ago, but conveniently fails to mention that a court found the accuser guilty of bribery relating to that, and it was pretty clear that she was just trying to extort money from them.

A very VERY rough/loose translation :

An anonymous reader sent the following to the author of the article (Louise Dechatelets) :

“Following my post you are certainly going to receive a tsunami of [nonsense]. This is why I am asking that you conceal my identity and publish this under a pseudonym, because I don’t want to receive hate mail. In passing, I want to point out that many known artists think like me. I am so tired hearing about Celine Dion. Opening my newspaper in the morning and finding 3 full pages of her drive me crazy. It’s impossible to buy a magazine without her being mentioned as well. Enough is Enough!

Her so great love for Rene Angelil, what a bluff! Before meeting her he was a member of the Baronets, married and a father of 2 children but he was penniless. Well, no more than Celine who came from a big poor family. Rene “smelled” the money he could make by managing her and Celine followed him, ‘sniffing’ the good manager and the businessman in him.

Yes, they made money together but the entire world said that Rene left very often to play golf or at a casino and who knows (what he did) with young ladies to the point that he had already been accused of sexually assaulting a Chinese woman on the West Coast. Celine herself said in an interview that her relationship with Julie Snyder wasn’t a relationship between Dion and Snyder but rather a relationship between Dion-Angelil. You can admit that there is a lot being said about the solidity of the Dion-Angelil couple.

The next phrase I have ABSOLUTELY no idea how to translate….can a native speaker please help out here????? The phrase I am referring to is "Alors pour l’amour avec un grand A on repassera”. I assume is some kind of expression used but I have no idea how to translate it

Not to mention Celine’s greed. She let her castle at Ile Paton go for 10 millions when she was initially asking for 30. Not to mention her other castle in Florida which remains unsold even after she dropped the price by 27 million. Poor little girl!

Instead of creating a foundation in her name in order to acquire political capital as we say, why wasn’t Celine content by just donating a few millions to her mother’s foundation from time to time so that she (Madamme Dion I assume) can finally get some rest at her age?

I'm trying to figure out exactly his intentions, but the more I think about it, the less I care. Maybe Celine is talked about very much in Canadian media, I don't know, but what this guy is describing - I can't recognize it. It's not the truth I know. Quite frankly, it sounds more like he's just complaining to complain. However, it's subjective so maybe it's true for him. He's doing he's job. Writing a column. Funny thing is though, if you're gonna write about someone to get attention, don't hide like a coward. Stand up for what you truly believe, but he knew that this might get some attention, so he decided to be anonymous.

 

He said he wanted to remain anonymous to not get hate mail, that is maybe the biggest lie that he wrote. He didn't want to actually stand up for what he thinks she is. If he's job is to voice he's mind, he's doing a pretty shitty job.

 

The only reasoning behind this "article" though is to tell everybody she's "awful" for no reason other than "I don't like her". Good luck! People make up their own minds about what they think about her and and they don't base it on some biased column that nobody reads.

The title of the topic is possibly a tad bit misleading. It doesn't seem like a column at all, more like a reader's letter?

And aren't reader's letters the same everywhere? Written by angry people with too much time on their hands?

On the other hand, I can sorta see where this person is coming from (though I disagree with the way he/she chooses to express him/herself). I mean, if Céline is truly as omnipresent in Quebec as she seems to be, it must be insufferable for the few people that dislike her....(poor lost souls they are )

Kinda like a lot of people feel about the Kardashians (though I am by no means comparing them to Céline...)

I think it's so hilarious when people are in denial about liking someone.

 

This person who wrote that article, complaining about Celine sure seemed to know a lot about her personal and professional life. When you don't like someone, you don't bother to follow there career and you surely wouldn't go to the trouble of writing an article about them and have it published in a magazine. That takes a lot of time and effort.

 

Oh. That's okay, maybe one day this person will have the courage to come out of the Celine Dion closet and the Celine Dion Forum can be the first to embrace him or her and throw a coming out party.

 

It's only a matter of time. You can only fight the feeling for so long. At some point, people's passion for Celine can't be held back anymore. Like Celine's song says, " you can't fight the feelin". LOL.
