There's no other country that deserves a more long-overdue date than Spain, and I'm not saying this because I'm Spanish

 

She has never performed a concert in Spain. And they already planned -and cancelled- two times here, in 1996 and 1999. I think we don't need a third time.

 

Honestly, I think that if there's a country which deserves a Celine Dion concert today, it's Spain. At least to compensate for the two cancellations in the past

Same happened to me in 2008. I was on my finals when she came to Europe

 

I thought I would get the chance to see her sooner than what turned out to be a reality. I saw her in Vegas November 1st. Eight years later! That can not happen again, if she's not going on tour next year, I'm going back to Vegas. I'm actually going there anyway to celebrate a friends Birthday. I'm gonna make sure Celine's plays then.

 

My parents have actually seen Celine in Europe. Twice! This was of course back in the 90's and I'm pretty sure the first time was during The Colour of My Love World Tour, and the second time was the Falling Into You Would Tour. Imagine seeing Celine during that time. It must have been beyond amazing!

There are also tons of YouTube videos with Greek translations of her songs, she is always refered in pop culture as a symbol of big voice and great singing, the vast majority of people regard her as the pop equivalent of Maria Callas, like someone who is so flawless and untouchable. Worst thing you'll hear about her is that she is boring, but even people who say so do it in a defensive/shy way because they do respect her talent. I would bet a fortune that she is more respected in Greece than in anglophone Canada or even US.

 

And I as well have no reason to support a concert in Greece as I live in UK now.

Also philippines! She has never performed a single concert here too! In 2014, it was planned -- i have tickets but it was cancelled. It's almost sold out! About 15 tickets available? and it still has plenty more months/time to be sold out unlike Mariah wahahahaha (peace) when celine cancelled her tour i watched the concert of mariah "me. i am. mariah elusive tour" (you barely hear her voice it was like the sound engineer makes mariah's voice to blend with the music instead of making it sound forward/louder like Celine's) Edited November 23, 2016 at 05:59 AM by jpatdeleon09

If I'm not mistaking Javito she actually cancelled 3 times in our country. She was expected to perform a concert in Zaragoza (Spain) coinciding with the Expo but the show was cancelled due to problems with sponsors.

 

After 7 years as a fan, I still can not understand why they have always ignored the Spanish-speaking market. Not just Spain, but all of South-America. Yes, there's her performance at the 1992 Expo in Seville, her promotional visit to Madrid from 2002, the concerts in Mexico from 2008 and the five songs she has recorded in Spanish over the years (six if we count the unreleased Spanish version of D'amour ou D'amitié). But c'mon, it's a huge market that could benefit them if they stopped ignoring it...

I would love a small US tour, don't know if the Vegas contract prevents a US tour from happening though, I wouldn't be surprised. Even if she did a small US tour I doubt it would even affect the Vegas ticket sales.

I wonder, the RedHeads Always manage to get the best tickets on the floor and seem able to reservate complete blocks for their group. Then why can the celinedionforum, which is the biggest Celine platform in the world, not manage such deals? Or do I ask too much?

I know now that experiencing a Celine concert means to have the best seat as well. If possible as close to the stage as possible.

So whenever there will be a European Tour again, maybe the celinedionforum can manage something for the fans?

Yeah... But she hasn't recorded in Portuguese, or come to Portugal to promote like she has done several times with Spain. Last time was with ANDHC in 2002, but she also came in 1996, 1993 and 1992.

It's crazy that Celine has never performed a concert in a big European market like Spain. I really hope she does in the near future as it is a country I would love to visit soon and practise my rusty Spanish.

I like your points LukeD about why she should perform in Greece. Fingers crossed..You know I still live in Greece.

But honestly, I don't see it coming anytime soon. I still remember when I heard on the radio that she is coming here for the Taking Chances World Tour and then nothing...I think something went wrong with the negotiations with the company that was supposed to organize the concert. Not sure though.

 

So, let's see if we are only dreaming or she will do this mini tour eventually.

Outside of France, her #1 market in Europe is the UK where she has sold more than 12m albums - that should be her priority.
