LaPresse had asked Aldo about this, and he wasn't very happy about this :

 

- First, it's unofficial, isn't approved by Celine or her team.

- A tailor, from Armani, come to Vegas last Friday, and asked if they can take a picture with Celine and the doll. He said "Celine was too friendly. If I was there, never this picture will be taken".

- The picture is taken by Sebastiano Zaffalon, tailor from Armani.

- Yesterday, Aldo call Global Sales Director of Armani, at Milan, and he said "Armani is also embarrassed than us!"

- He use the word "Scammed" during the "short" interview.

You might be referring to me? I made a Celine Dion barbie about 5 years ago. It wasn't this exact barbie though. I remember another member on this forum also made there own Celine barbie aswell. It wasn't this same barbie created by magia2000 either. The only person that has created this new barbie is magia2000, so it's an original.

 

It sucks that apparently this person scammed Celine and this Barbie wasn't approved by anyone. I want that dress for my Celine barbie so bad. It's my favorite dress she's over worn and it really is an iconic piece in Celine's fashion catalogue. It would be great to own that dress, even in barbie size. LOL.

I like Aldo because he put her everywhere this summer ... but between the bedsheets , the musical and now this "trademark violation", I'd like to ask him : do you know you are the manager of an artist and you're not at the head of product company?

 

I've never heard him talk about any artistic or music things. That's sad.

 

It's time to proof he is a good manager and find Céline some serious deal about HER , he needs to focus on Céline, not on developping her in whatever ways...

If Aldo and his team were smart, and I KNOW that they are, they would buy the rights to this dolls likeliness, fix the face and hair, and sell it for $100/doll at the Celine boutique and online, and maybe at designer toy stores like FAO Shwarz (if it hadn't closed). I don't like that doll - doesn't look like her (IMO). And, if they feel the urgent need to create such a Barbie, why not respect the original outfit. She didn't wear earrings on that day.

yeah. I've seen photos with the hair down and her in different outfits and it looks a lot better. It does resemble her with better lighting and certain angles. But yeah...it could be better.

I just ordered mine. She's not an exact likeness but how many official Celine dolls are there? It's still better than a Funko Pop!

The Whitney Houston they recently released didn't really look like her either.

100% agree they should have given her a smile with teeth. Her smile is very recognizable. It would have helped with the likeness. 

They also should have given her a microphone on a stand.

It’s an ugly doll that apart from the outfit doesn’t resemble Celine. They shoulda done the backwards tux from the red carpet look and I think it would’ve been more fitting and it’s culture wide look.—- Part of the reason is this Oscar’s hair isn’t really a signature style for Celine.

I don't think this would translate well to doll form. From the front, it would be very plain. And the hat and sunglasses would cover her face and you wouldn't even know it's supposed to be Celine.
