Celine on CBS Sunday Morning

Can someone/her team tell Celine to stop interrupting/replying/talking in song? It is really annoying for the interviewer/the audience.

And it's not even musical at all, she's shouting, it's aggressive for the ears. If at least she was trying to sound good. She really needs to do something regarding that.

Otherwise, the interview was really nice. But her way of dealing with her hyperness can become really annoying.

 

Well I'm guessing their are several reasons why she might be doing this; grief, nervousness, a performer playing to the camera.

 

She is a naturally excitable person, but I doubt she is that excitable at home where she is in a more natural situation. When you think about it a lot of what she does is not normal and is probably a bit uncomfortable sometimes especially at the moment. Not sure how I would act in a situation where everyone is watching me and asking me questions about myself and my family. It's not about having two personalities, it's just that everyone acts differently when they are on their guard.

Yep, totally agree. I might be the only one but I really want her to write another book about their love story. When reading My story, my dream I really fell in love with their love story. It would be the ultimate romance novel. I will never tire of hearing her talk about Rene.

 

I feel the exact same way. I love My Story, My Dream because it reads like the story of their love, and I love hearing her talk about Rene (though it is hard to see her so sad now).

Dont get me wrong but with all the interviews since renes passed away its like she is in big denial...to touch his hand made in i dont know what ...to say that shes still in love with him...to the childrends that blows kisses to the father that no love no longer exist its wrong . Instead of to learn to still live with someone that no longer existe she is living with a gost and i think its wrong . She not yet morning as she think she does. I so do love her and i understand that its so difficult to her to admit that is no longer with us but she need to process the thing. Its even sadier to live with a gost then to start living without him. He was everything to her and shes lost in some way bit shes strong. But all the thing that shes so deeply in love with him make me uncomfortable...she needs to be nderstand what's going on and take some time for herself

I'm sorry, I respect your opinion, but I totally disagree with you. She is mourning and she is not living with a ghost. She has never Said that. She is simply facing reality, she knew would happen and had time to prepare... I found it so beautiful and normal that she is living with his "presence" inside of her and that she is in love with him as always. It's her, period. Nothing new, but still moving.

I don't think she's in denial, but it looks like she's close to crying all the time and feels that she has to show that she's strong. Her eyes are just so sad, like she's not there and pretending all the time. Which is exactly why the singing/shouting gets really annoying actually.

Don't get me wrong, Celine has always been hyper, singing, but look at that Jonathan Ross old interview: the singing came kind of naturally and she sang smoothly. Now, it's like she's in her own world, not listening to the people, interrupting, singing/shouting because she wants to do well. Funny thing is that sometimes she lets her guard down and we have genuine sincere and touching moments. Her team needs to tell her to stop pretending and just be herself, that people like her for who she is. Anyone can see that she's scared on the shows (Jimmy Fallon's was hard to see most of the parts) because she's putting too much pressure on herself. She was never like that before.

She's has that cast of his hand since he got sick and couldn't attend the show anymore. They had a ritual before every show to touch the tips of their thumbs together. She wanted to keep that tradition and I think that's special.

First I have to say that I respect everyones opinion. In my point of view however I believe that there are many things to be considered. as to her behaviour and singing during the interviews. It hasnt been a year since Rene`s passing, so it`s still very recent. Ceine didn`t lose just her husband, considering the different roles that Rene had in her life.She lost her husband, her best friend, her partner, the father of her children , her manager and business partner and above all the love of her life, the only man she has ever loved, Can you imagine how hard it must be for her to have to face everything alone now, She has to raise her kids, alone. Take care of the business alone, Of course she is still adapting to this situation. I read that she was different in the interviews in the past,, of course she was. In the past she was happy in spite of any negative situation. in her life.You can`t erase 36 years of your life. ( that`s how long Rene has been in her life). You cant just move on from 21 years of marriage. All of this takes time to change. Just think,, to be in front of a camera and people asking you questions about your pain, your loss, asking you if you are going to fall in love again. I am sure that in time she will be calmer , and more adapted to her new reality. The relationship that she shared with Rene was obviously so so beautiful that I believe that he will always be part of her, Not that she will live with a ghost, but she will hopefully be able to find peace and balance again in the future,

I just saw this interview because a hurricane swept by us two days before this aired. No power, no internet-luckily, no trees fell on our house. I agree with those that feel that Celine's continuing love for Rene is not surprising at all; she has always said that her love was forever. It's not creepy; it is very natural for her. Some people remarry and some do not; it's too early to say whether Celine might, but it won't be a horrid tragedy if she doesn't. There is so much to life and she can live a happy and full one even if Rene remains her only husband.

 

I do think she is using the singing/talking as a coping device and it might diminish as time passes. I can't bring myself to criticize her too much because this year has been so challenging for her. She could have dropped everything and taken off to the Quebec countryside until next year. I would have been tempted to do that if I were her. I have to say that I am impressed at how well she does manage in English; after several months of watching Conor's translated videos, I am even more aware of the difficulty of shifting seamlessly between two languages. I had four years of French in school and I am sadly aware of my limitations as I am five beats behind any conversation!
