Celine (Las Vegas show) [ends: June 8th, 2019] - Official topic

Obviously I said that *if only* she hadn’t (self) imposed that crazy marathon schedule of 200 shows per year, which didn’t allow her to do anything else but wear herself out :)

I still don’t know how she found the time to record two albums in 2004 when she was clearly not having a good time with all the work she had on her plate and the pression from CP. I admire her for that, but the truth is that nobody forced her to perform that many shows per year, only her (or René...)

It's nice to have fans around here who confirm with an unbiased view my loathing to her Vegas seclusion, thank you ^_^

Vegas must have been a milestone in her career and a defining project ever since she's in Vegas, but is the most wasted residence a singer of her caliber has ever done, from an artistic point of view. Doing more than 1,000 shows and having the chance to perform every night the songs you want, or renovating the setlist of songs every 2-3 months if she wanted, and yet always singing the same bunch of songs, in a repetitive (almost on autopilot mode) basis, albums released while she was there that only saw ONE song performed (or even zero with EUS), dozens of covers that had nothing to with her and the love people had for her because of her albums, and always with the stagnation feeling that she doesn't renovate the show including more of her songs with more frequence... that's such a waste again, for a singer of her status and the chances that this fixed residence could have offered for her vast repertoire.

Now I'm glad she discovered she can also do mini tours and balance her isolation in Vegas with the real deal that is performing on tour, and not the "plastic" artificial feeling many fans have perceived when they attend Vegas and the lack of passion/engagement with the audience that she portrays there (probably because she's sick to death of always doing the same thing there because of what's written on a contract and on a show program that dictates what she has to sing). But I wish she had started doing these mini tours since the beginning in 2003, while her voice was fresh and flexible and not tired.

Anyway... let's hope Vegas is coming to an end and she realises there's a musical life and career beyond that monotonous path she chose (apparently)... So many new musical styles for her to experiment yet, so many new songs to be recorded and so many nuances that her voice can still offer... She's been postponing all of these long ago, and it's time to move on... if she wants to and still has the passion and the will of course :)

Hopefully the convenience and comfort zone that Vegas offers her hasn't killed all those projects and dreams of her!

"Celine" made me miss and even love "A New Day" ever since I listened the first audio bootleg from the premiere show back in 2011 :giggle: And for me to say I "missed" and "loved" the first version of her resicence show is much to say lol :innocent:

I feel AND like Celine was good for the first year, there after word she just looks like she wants to do it as fast as she can and leave. The only part of the show she has a LITTLE bit of life of is the uptempo medley even so she was far more lively on TOUR

René.

I know I could just stop reading this forum, but I don't want to as it's part of my sad daily ritual every day and has been for over 10 years. But seriously, it has got so negative and miserable. So much criticism, such a depressing view on everything. Instead of enjoying what we get from her, there's so much obsession over what we didn't get, which ruins the good and the positive. She's not perfect and her team is pretty inept, but I used to come here to be pumped up by Céline news. Now it's just withering and crap and there are too many fun sponges/happy hoovers

That’s up to you. Like you say, nobody forces you to come and read. You cannot pretend us to believe you come to this forum on a DAILY basis to look for news when you know Celine’s been sick for months and we haven’t had any word of her since months right?

I for one I’m looking forward to that Best Of album that’s going to be released this week in Japan, and I probably will buy it since I’m all for physical releases. That’s what I love and I support her in that way. That’s what we’re getting so far. It’s a shame the CD won’t include Ashes and her team hasn’t learnt to take advantage of a momentum and oppotunities (why shouldn’t we criticize that?)

Also, what I came to say is what dozens of fans will come to say in a myriad of more depressing and angry comments within hours, providing she doesn’t perform that new single. I anticipate that. With the difference that I don’t expect anything from her performing routines in Vegas, so I won’t be disappointed anymore in that field :)

You can choose to be depressed by others’ comments, that’s your choice. I choose to be vocal about the things I like, but when I don’t like something, I’m vocal with it too (even if I’ve been insulted here for that)

I hope she will extent her Vegas contract till 2023 so that we can celebrate 20 years of rant againg Vegas. At least we won't have done this for nothing (I refuse to having stood all this crap so many years without getting drunk at the end to mark this milestone) and Javito will stop thanking every single poster who agrees with his self-called "unbiased" view. I can't pinpoint what's more cringy in this story: the fact we have been writing or reading the same thing for almost 2 decades, that Javito thanks to gain sympathy or to persuade himself he has right.

Thank God Céline is back tonight (in Vegas yes!) and we will give this loathing a 2-3 day rest before starting again.

Same.

And Vegas is the least of concern.

Remember when Aldo was still around, she still did Vegas and she was quite active otherwise, which shows both can coexist.

The main concern should be her (management) team. And their (and Céline's) drive and motivation.

Just like Céline('s team) needs some outside opinion about what they do or don't, what you've just say about your own actions is therapy material for sure.

Huh?

Listen, I don’t really care if one person or 50 agrees with what I say here lol but if you seriously believe I’ve been posting here for 15 years to gain a public or likes, I couldn’t feel more flattered :D

Actually I feel amused by that opinion :P

I find it really annoying when they talk about her show resuming, but then play a clip of a show that ended over 10 years ago 🤨

I can’t wait to hear her voice, after the ear problem she had. I hope she’s as pristine as it was last summer, but if not, I’ll love her all the same

Anyway something tells me it all went smooth and well :)

Maybe because A New Day clips are more appealing to the viewers one thing is the visuals...

Lack of audience engagement? The woman talks to the audience without a script for 20 minutes in each show! But that seems to be a problem for some people here as well. The woman simply can't win with some of you.

Btw, her vocals on the 2016 and 2017 tours were ANYTHING but tired. Her vocals in 2011-2013 and in 2015 were also impeccable. Shes not had weak : tired vocals since 2009

The last shows of the 2016 tour she showed clear signs of exhaustion (this said by fans who attended and said her voice was better at the start of the tour)

In 2017 her voice was way better than 2016, but I don’t blame her at all: that tour was too emotional for her.

Celines shows from the 20th of June until 31st of July were INSANELY good. Far superior to any other shows in that year.

Hopefully in 2018 with this 4 month break and her ear now fixed, she will sound incredible
