Outrageous ticket prices for 2017

I'm sorry, but this is in poor taste. An artist of Celine's calibre is going to demand a heftier ticket price. No one is forced to buy the best ticket and there are plenty of more affordable seats.

I saw celine last week and I payed $175+tax for my seat which I bought last year I was talking to a lady who was sat next to me and her seat was $150+tax so I think the tickets prices for this year have gone up she bought her ticket on the night

The tickets are actually going up quite a bit in 2017 topping out at 750 for a regular, non-VIP package, seat (these are the seats that were 250 in 2015 and 500 a couple months ago) and they are reclassifying seats by zones (which is new) so seats that are not as nice will now be more expensive than before. But they did add a 55 dollar ticket (edit: from your post I take it 55 dollar tickets were out in 2016 as well).

 

But, overall, between the 250 increase from a few months ago and the new zones, tickets are going up.

 

I am not signing a petition. If some one wants to sign a petition, that is up them. I don't see the point, frankly. But, ultimately, raising concert prices is a business decision and they decided this was the right course for them. I hope it doesn't impact show attendance too much, but otherwise it is really a decision for her team.

Seriously I understand that people say she's worth it and trust me I adore, love, admire and almost worship her but Nobody is worth paying 750, 650 600 ect for front row and back a couple of rows. Elton, Shania, Mariah, Reba, Rod and whoever else they have..... noboby. This is just my view because, yes, people will pay, but I won't pay that price for anybody.

 

(And for the same show over and over....where she says it's our fault lol)

I think this is embarrassing. It's the kind of drama tabloids would create. Seems to me there are fans who never learnt where to draw the line.

 

If you can't afford something, then you don't get it. You don't whine about it. Doing so will change nothing and I'll be proven right on this when this petition brings 0 results.

I don't think the petition will have results, but I do think it's really a shame that they're pricing most of the tickets out of reach of most people. Just makes Celine and her team look greedy. (I don't think she was directly involved in this decision, but I do think it looks bad for her team.)

is Celine following a trend there where tickets goes higher and higher? It sures is expensive, the only way to protest would be that no one would go a given night, and it won't happen. It is like hockey tickets in Montreal, very expensive, because they sell anyway. Can you believe that it is more expensive to see hockey than Celine in montreal? i don't buy hockey tickets, i go see Celine when in montreal, but just one time, because it is enough for me, and i keep the rest of my money for the wine Maybe i'll go two time this time, because me and her are not getting youger..

Fans are allowed to complain if they want (see every endless, mind numbing, discussion about lip syncing).

 

A petition won't do anything. This is about money. Not fans. They will make money with the increased prices (like I said, it isn't going to stop me from going. I just hate it is going to price others out).

Completely agree. It just sucks because it will definitely exclude some of her more die-hard fans from getting close seats. I would think Céline would want her die-hards in the front rows to rock out with her... not Mr. Millionaire and his wife who only knows the chorus of BYLM.... Yeah I'm glad I saw AND. Paying $225 (£125 at the time) was expensive but worth it to be 3rd and 4th row. But I really wouldn't pay top price now. I'd sadly be further back. Unless I win the lottery, then I'm there with knobs on! 😂

 

People have a right to put in a petition. But I do think it's a bit pointless. It's a business, lots of people need paying etc. It's not just down to Celine's team or Aldo for example. Its also AEG, CP etc.

What's even UBER annoying is that Celine or the musicians and staff won't even see any of this money. I am sure Celine is booked for a certain amount and that's a fixed amount. So if prices increase that will only be for the concert promoter, her management or Ceasars

Sadly, as I found with everything in Vegas since the last time I was there, the price of everything has gone up and really the simple reason is simple economics. If people are willing to pay these prices (and they clearly are) then they will keep putting them up. Add to that things like the ridiculous "resort fee" that hotels in Vegas charge and it's quickly becoming one of the most expensive cities to go to on holiday.

I am sure that there are general Vegas fans (with lots of extra money) who will go and a few Celine fans who will save for years to go. I am not a fan of gambling or the Vegas atmosphere, but I would like to see Celine (and the Osmonds) if money and family responsibilities allowed. But, I guess I will just be "all by myself."

 

This is happening with all sorts of artists, though. I am a long-time fan of Amy Grant and I just got an e-mail about a 3 day "creative" weekend you could spend with her in North Georgia. Prices START at $5,000.00! Who on earth can afford to do this? I'm afraid she'd have to write me a song and become my friend for life. I guess there must be somebody who signs up or they wouldn't be able to do it.
