I hate Céline haters ....

I am so furious!! I work at a video store, Blockbusters, and we are not allowed to watch movies in the store because Head Office said so, so we are only allowed to play music dvd's or movie trailers. I had been bringing music dvd's for us all to listen to since i'm working on Saturdays for 11 hours and i get bored and sick of watching the same trailers over and over again. Anyway, i had been bringing music dvd's for about 2 weeks and only brought Celine "Colour of my love"concert dvd twice to work so today i decided to bring "All the way" and "au coeur du stade concert" dvd and i played "All the way" just when it got to "Live for the one I love" the manager from Debonairs (Steers, Debonairs and Blockbusters are all owned by the same person so we're all connected) her name is Roxanne came and said, "I'm sick of listening to Celine, give me that dvd!" as she said that David, General Manager of all 3 stores said, "put this softer it's really pissing me off" and then he put the volume so soft and left then i said to Roxanne, "No, and you can't take it away coz it's mine! " then she said, "I'll take it out myself!" she went to the dvd player and took my dvd out and said, "I'm gonna put this away so you can't play it again" then she put it behind her back and tried to get past me, then i said to her, "Roxanne, give me my dvd back" and then i grabbed it out of her hand and then she said to me, "don't play it AGAIN!!" so i shouted at her and said, "You aren't the one that has to sit in this store and watch these trailer tapes!! So leave me alone we're the ones listening to it not YOU!!" then she said, "but we have to listen to it next door!"

 

The whole night i didn't play Céline, I was furious but it hurt so bad that these ravers hated Céline and was forcing me to switch something off that could only be bothering them if they were paying close attention to it! I was so angry and hurt that i said to one of the acting managers, Ryan, that he had to find someone else to work from 5-8pm coz i wanted to go home at 5, i figured if they want to be mean and said terrible things about Céline then they can suffer without me there I was being over-worked and underpaid!! and if Céline was not to be played then i would leave, but then Ryan kept saying to me, "No you're not going home" then i said, "I WILL go home!! I'm a casual and I'm working 11 hours when a casual is not suppose to work over 6 hours and so as from next week Saturday I WILL not be working 9am - 8pm i don't care who you find coz it's not my problem it's yours!! " eventually I decided to stay only tonight til 8 on one condition "I could play Céline Dion without Roxanne coming to switch it off and David saying that i have to turn it down"

 

I hate those Céline haters and you know they have no respect they are all ravers and you don't see me saying turn that channel down coz it's too loud or you don't hear me saying I hate their rave music and that it annoys me because I HAVE RESPECT for everyone's taste!! Why don't they have any respect for us???

 

Has anyone else had to deal with these pathetic people???

If you say these things about people with a different liking than you, are you not being just like them?

I've never been in that type of situation before. While I agree that those who dislike Celine are not losers, they've gone a bit too far by going over and taking the them out of the player. That's very immature and rude. Maybe you could've used headphones so not to "distract" others?

When i hear people play rap I tell them to turn that crap off, Just Kidding. Seriously though it was rude of that lady(if you can call her that) to take your dvd away from you. As for people who dislike celine I just think how can you not like her. Then again there also probably thinking the same thing about me for the music that they listen ot that I don't like. Thanks Bellamy you understand what i mean. VanMerlin the point is that they don't like Céline point blank. I only played the colour of my love concert twice and that was on a monday where David becomes a driver and delivers pizzas and Roxanne only starts work at 3 and I finish at 3 (on school holidays) so they both weren't there when I did play Céline. I have NEVER played " All the way" before and yesterday was the first time so it's not like they have heard it before because i've never played it before.

 

When i first started working there they asked what i listened to and i said that i am a Céline fan and then they said, "Aah Céline I can't stand her" and so there already they established that they disliked Céline. I went to work on Tuesday to hire movies I was wearing my pink shirt that had Celine on and while i was there the owner, Gavin, said, "Look at what you're wearing" and then when another staff member came he said, "Look at her shirt" and then she said, "I know, Céline. Everyday of her training she wore a different Céline shirt" she was exaggerating because I only have 3 Céline shirts. So there they also not only respected what i was listening to but also the clothes I choose to wear!!

 

Roxanne just took my dvd away because her and I dislike each other a lot it was all over a fight that took place when I had waited an hour after work to get paid and when my aunt arrived there she yelled at me and only when she realised that i didn't meet her for lunch because i was waiting to get paid did my aunt go up to Roxanne and started yelling at her to get my pay, and once my aunt was gone Roxanne approached me in the middle of the store and started yelling at me in front of customers and so I went to Gavin (she was only coming in at 5 and i didn't know so i told Gavin what i was going to tell her) the next friday, because i was at school during the week, and told him about the incident and told him that i wanted to tell her that if she ever confronted me in front of staff members or customers again I would take her to the CCMA and I will lay a charge against her for humiliating me in public! So from then on we just have hated each other since and now she thinks because she's a manager she can do what she wants but unfortunately for her she cannot touch my stuff and because it's a personal thing that we have between each other I won't shut up for her and I don't care who she is!!

 

So I think on Roxanne's part she would just like to think that she has a hold of me when in actual fact she does not, i believe she just knew that she could get to me this way.

 

David also because he's a General Manager he also likes to think that he can do as he pleases, whenever he wants. Also it's not their (Roxanne and David) store so it's not their problem what we play because we're the ones that have to listen to it the only time they listen to her is when they walk past!!

i can only listen to nature buy on the ANDHC vd not the live version becuase the 1st time i saw celine that was the song that started my tears at AND so i just cant listen to it its to personal. i understand abotut he haters i have ones that tell me all the time that song sux or whatnot. my whole family are haters so i have to give them celine breaks just as they do with their music for me. its funny because people i dont know come up to me and there all your a celine fan and stuff. the people i choose to hang out with are haters but they have respesct. i would have said i quit but then again id stay just to annoy your boss roxanne. i say you keep your job then sing celine songs outloud or something. you cant play the videos but you can still songs.

well i get it from people at school i t is like because i am a 14 year old they think it is illegal for me to love celine dion,i should be in to the one hit wonders,and all that other pop trash,i mean i do listen to music other than celine(not often though) but i find my self having to apologise for loving celine just because other silly people don't appreciate celine's wonderful music so don't worry i know how you feel just tell them to mind their own buisness and that celine is far more gifted than any of their fav singers/musicians i will vouch for that and if they still persist give them my e-mail i will tell em off!!!!

I tell you what - when I get back to South Africa I`m gonna pay you a visit in Joburg and we`ll sing together at your work ( If anything, my awful voice will shut them up for good )

 

I`m really lucky that my Mother and brother totally respect my love of Celine`s music. When I visit their houses they even play her music for me even though they`re not at all fans!! (My mother plays Def Leppard full blast any other time)

My sister, on the other hand, is a raver and only listens to that brain-dead music!!

My other brother lives on another planet so I won`t even go there
