Celcool Posted February 7, 2016 at 12:03 PM Posted February 7, 2016 at 12:03 PM Just curious. I've been a vegetarian since last summer and mostly eating vegan. Stopped eating meat when I educated myself about the ethics of eating, just about how this cruel food system of ours works. Meat started to disgust me. Then there's also the health issue, plant-based foods are just healthier. If anyone's interested in how the food we eat affects our health I recommend watching the documentary Forks over Knives and reading T. Colin Campbell's book The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted And the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss, And Long-term Health. And if you want to know more about why we eat meat and other animal products and how we exploit animals watch these: https://youtu.be/ao2GL3NAWQU https://youtu.be/kKvoOZ6IqFE 1 Quote
incognito Posted February 7, 2016 at 10:35 PM Posted February 7, 2016 at 10:35 PM I'm getting there. I eat chicken on occasion and sometimes fish but will stop soon. I stopped eating red meat and I stopped eating dairy as of last week. I'm doing it for health reasons. My mother and grandmother both died from cancer and I refuse to be the "hat-trick". 1 Quote

I really respect any person who takes into consideration health before enjoyment and convenience and has self-control. Good for you! I also stopped eating eggs and dairy recently. I only eat it occasionally if someone else makes a desert and uses any of these two or both. I started making my own coconut milk, it's really easy to do. 1 Quote
Allysadreams Posted February 8, 2016 at 12:26 PM Posted February 8, 2016 at 12:26 PM (edited) Hey Great links, I adivse anyone who needs to initiative to stop eating animal products watch Earthlings, i never hvae but I am told it is hard to watch at times but has made many people go vegan. I've been vegan for the past 5 years and I was vegetarian before that for a long time so I've not eaten meat or fish for twenty years, best decision ever....I have to say since being vegan I very very rarely get ill, it's remarkeable and there's so much choice out there to eat. The world will not sustain itself on a meat diet plus it is barbaric what those gentle creatures go through Edited February 8, 2016 at 12:29 PM by Allysadreams 1 Quote 'Love Doesn't Ask Why, it speaks from the heart.....'

reamary Posted April 26, 2016 at 06:56 PM Posted April 26, 2016 at 06:56 PM Hey! Nice to see a topic about vegetarism and veganism created! I've been a vegan for 2 years now! Actually I will celebrate my "two-year anniversary" of being a vegan this Sunday. I stopped eating meat after having seen too many videos about the terrible animal abuse that goes on in many farms. The videos are terrible to watch, and I remember how I made my decision to become a vegan while crying through a video that was filmed on a pig farm, seeing little piglets left to die, trembling and suffering, flies covering their tiny little bodies. I don't want to support that. And like PETA says, nowadays I think "animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way".I used to think I couldn't go vegan because I thought it would be "too hard" to drop dairy out of your diet, but seriously, it hasn't been hard at all. Besides, oat milk tastes a whole lot better than cow's milk, which I think is meant only for the baby cows. I'm very happy being a vegan, and don't think I could ever go back to not being one anymore. 1 Quote http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o419/reamary/1338b390-8604-432c-8a00-e8e1052a92ba.jpgHELSINKI 9.6.2008 - PARIS 26.11.2013 - PARIS 28.6.2016 - STOCKHOLM 17.6.2017 !

I'm a vegan now and I've never enjoyed my meals more than I do now. Discovering new recipes, eating only what I really love without any cruelty on my plate and it's heatlhier, too, and better for the planet. A win-win. Taking Chances Posted November 20, 2016 at 03:54 PM Posted November 20, 2016 at 03:54 PM Great thread! I had to Google to see if Celine was vegan or vegetarian. Does anybody know? I've been a vegetarian for about 6 years now. Usually I eat only vegan, but sometimes I've eaten something that is only vegetarian so I feel like I am cheating if I say i've been Vegan for about a year. I love all the alternatives that's out there, I feel like I can eat perfectly normal and no animal has to suffer and die. I wish only more people did it. I hope eventually there will only be vegan food out there. I can't wait to see what's available in 5 years. It's been amazing for the past 5, so the next 5 will probably be even better. Its nice to meet like minded people here. 1 Quote
Celcool Posted March 17, 2017 at 05:36 PM Author Posted March 17, 2017 at 05:36 PM (edited) I don't think Celine is vegan or vegetarian, never read about it. Maybe she would be if she educated herself on health benefits of eating vegan, how it's destroying our planet and on the reality of animal suffering just because people are used to eating a certain way. I've been vegan for a year now and before than vegetarian for 6 months and I'm now enjoying my food more than ever. At the beginning it's hard but then you get used to it, research a bit, find good recipes and then you can just enjoy good, cruelty-free food. It was the best decision I ever made in my life.
