A new live album in 2016 ?

As we know, Céline will release her new french album between March and May.. then, she will perform for 6 dates in Paris..

 

Do you think her team will record those shows for a CD / DVD / blu-ray release in November 2016 ? <3

 

I think it would be a nice idea to increase her sales for the Christmas season..

I really hope that they will record the shows and release a CD/DVD package! It would be a missed opportunity if they didn't. They should record everything she does, because it's such a treat for the fans!

I am sure they will record because one of the paris shows will be live on some (paid) channel from what i read. So they have the opportunity to put these recordings on a bluray and or cd/dvd.

I want a live release, of course. But as long as they include all songs performed not only in Paris but elsewhere. I still can't get over the fact that Immensite and JNVOP were so harshly cut!

Celine's live releases from Paris have always been amazing (Olympia, LAP & ACDS). After a mediocre TCWT release from Montreal (which was half Boston anyway) and a disappointing vocal on USF (which was later heavily and/or badly autotuned), it would be amazing to have a full Paris 2016 show on Blu-ray/2CD, with bonus tracks taken from the Quebec shows to give us ALL the songs performed during the tour. Tbh stuff like the memphis show could be released when there aren't any plans for new material/concert releases.

But I'd rather have things we haven't seen to be released first.

I don't want ot be pessimist, but I don't think there will be a release of the mini tour 2016.

 

First, the last release was a mini-tour release, it would be only 2 years since the last one USF.

 

Second, as in between there will be only one studio album release, I guess the track listing will not be very different from USF, except of course a couple of new songs from the French album.

 

Third, I think they have better to gain to release a nice Celine in Vegas show, as there could be plenty plenty of bonuses, exclusive things, and so on.

So many of us couldn't make it to Vegas, plus with her hiatus a lot of things changed, so plenty of material to release in simple, deluxe and ultimate edition.

 

Just my opinion.

I hope the setlist will be different from usf but that was a good setlist! I do hope they include songs like Zora sourit and other great songs from s il siffisait d aimer and D Elles (and D"eux of course)

I'd only want the time and money put into a new live release if the concert is going to have a fresh and reinvigorated setlist. That means newly or rarely performed material such as: "A cause," "Zora sourit," "Tous les blues sont ecrits pour toi," "Contre nature," "Quelqu'un que j'aime, quelqu'un qui m'aime," "Tous les secrets," "Cherche encore," "Je ne veux pas," "La diva," "Le temps qui compte," "Je lui dirai," etc. Otherwise, save a few of the new songs, it would be just like watching every other French concert released year's prior.

I think both 1f4t and D'elles songs STILL need to get some exposure.

 

Honestly, Celine's French setlists are much better than English ones. I don't know why many of you complain about singing the same songs all the time. That's not entirely true. Comparing to TPOL/BYLM/IACBTMN/MHWGO/RDMH/ABM/LCMM situation, various French songs have been sung through the years.

 

TCWT didn't have ONCP nor TLDH (only one night in Antwerp) and we all agree that TLDH was bombastic in Paris in 2013. But it had ESNRQ for instance.

Sur les plaines had ONCP which was a nice change from TCWT setlist.

They also always change LEE and Z between countries, which they wouldn't have to do, so we have 2 songs instead of 1

Une seule fois, apart from SA songs, had numerous songs she hadn't performed in AGES, like CNQR, JCT, T, DMQS, JDDMT, Incognito, it also included JNPBD amd LM which were cut in Europe

In Europe, on the other hand, we had Z, Immensite (!) - especially big surprise after excluding D'elles from USF, TLDH (!), JNVOP (!), RM.

Also, both concerts include amazing new sounds of JCT and JSP.

 

Thus, I think we can't complain that she sings the same songs all the time. It's heaven comparing to English concerts. Nevertheless, I DO agree that we need MORE old songs (especially from 1f4t and D'elles) and give some overplayed songs a rest.

Totally agree with you Davey, I wouldn't miss any of them if we were to get some rare songs instead. I don't see her dropping SSDA though (I think THEY consider it as a must) but omitting others you mentioned is doable.... If only!

Wow these are some of the songs she should sing! Even je ne veux pas! More songs from the 80s and from D'eux, d'elles and 1f&4t. Just to have a concert which is different from the previous ones.

 

She has to sing Cherche Encore. It's one of her greatest songs ever. So strong. So amazing.
