Personally, I think that this has been on the cards for a while. It started when they changed Team Celine a few years back, and you stopped having to pay a membership fee.

 

Social media is a quick and easy way of keeping up to date. Besides, this forum has always kept us better informed than www.celinedion.com!!

I would have done anything to be a part of it when they first opened but there was no way for me to pay the fee. I learned to live without it and didn't even join later on for free. I guess it has no impact on me now. This forum is so much more special.

there is only one site that matters and that is this forum. The official site is mediocre and is always late with official updates. They should incorporate this forum in the official site. Thank you Koolan and Bellamy for creating this place where we can share our passion together!

The current webdesign could be from a fan but the old webdesign was so stylish and it could only be from a big star, like Celine!

I too loved the A new day... design.

 

Simple but professional and looked really cool, also very easy to navigate around.

 

I do think they could start offering 5/6 meet and greets a year again for members as a competition. They've done it before and really it costs nothing.

Agreed. Although, it shouldn't really surprise me. TeamCeline has sucked at doing simple foundation work for her career and legacy for a long, long time. I would say it all started when "All The Way...A Decade of Song" and "All The Way...A Decade of Song & Video" released. The sloppy tracklist of that album (i.e. excluding "Misled," "Nothing Broken But My Heart," "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" and "All By Myself"), coupled with then including the "Misled" video, and performance videos for iconic songs such as "Beauty And The Beast" and "Because You Loved Me" instead of their "official" videos on the DVD really should have been indicators of what was to come.

I'm not sure I understand the doom and gloom of this happening. I mean, to me it's no big deal. I barely went on the site lately. I understand that she's "Celine Dion, the best selling female artist of ALL time!!!...".. and should have an official site but she's in the modern world now with fb and twitter!!! so this news doesn't make me want to jump. All things come to an end.

It doesn't say it closing forever does it? They are just making changes right?

I'm not sure, I was a member when we had to pay and felt like I had exclusivity I.e better seats at concerts and discounts from the boutique.

 

But now I'm not even sure that's really the case.

The social media side is not nearly as good as it could be, team Celine could engage with us more.

 

The be a part of the show idea was more along the lines of it. But by far the best support for fans for me of late has been this forum and when I get money I will be donating to keep it going.

 

The reason I am shocked is because it feels like they are making Celine less accessible to us, something we have NEVER felt before. Perhaps new management has had a role to play I dunno.

 

I just hope we are still able to connect with Celine in some small way from time to time is all xx

Well we know how her love for social media is, she has let us know what she thinks about Twitter. And maybe it's just me but I feel she's been less accessible to us for a while now, even before Rene's illness. I feel it really started with motherhood, like she said her priorities changed. Rightfully so!
