It's a nice interview, although, I am sorry, the use of English isn't the best ever

But the biggest remark would be to the interviewer; ask follow up questions!

 

For instance:

 

Will you tell us about your the most interesting perfomance or the most beautiful experience from stage?

 

It was in forum in Montreal, in June 19th 1991. Now in centre Bell.

 

 

Well very nice for Ghislaine, but WHY was it special?? Now it doesn't say anything at all...

 

But congrats for getting an interview with one of her sisters!

It confirmed something I suspected for a long time; that the Dion family isn't as close as they were back in the early 90s, but that's only a natural thing.

Nathalie Hebert is not part of the Dion family anymore

lol this is sort of random but Ghislaine ADDED ME on facebook. She sent me a friend request because I suppose I have many mutual friends with her because shes friends with many many many fans. It was so strange.

 

Then she requested to play me a game on trivia crack but it was in flipping french and I don't know any French lol. Then she deleted me

 

Okay that was super random, I don't even know why I mentioned that, but she seems very nice and down to earth! That's great that she agreed to do an interview. I just think she couldn't say as much as she wanted, especially about Celine and Rene and the relationship that she has with them and the boys, because it's about THEIR life. Not hers. She can't say so much without their permission, you know?

Today I had the privilege of interviewing Celine's older sister, Ghislaine, for "Celine Dion Spain".

 

The Maman Dion Foundation has done extraordinary things for children through the years, can you tell us how the foundation was created?

First of all, my mother is an exceptional woman. After raising 14 kids she decided to create the foundation, which carried the name of her father, Achille Tanguay, who inspired her so much. Though I didn't get to meet my grandfather, he had a big heart and my mother decided to give herself to children in Quebec; that's how the foundation came about.

 

Has the current COVID situation affected life in the foundation?

COVID has been terrible for everybody, but people in the foundation are working from home. Claudette gave a benefit show on March 20 entitled Live dans mon salon (Live from my living room). All the artists participated for free for the foundation; it was great, it's important to reinvent oneself.

 

A few years ago you released a live album with your brother Daniel and your sister Claudette. In it, you sing classics such as L'envie D'aimer and even Céline's La Voix Du Bon Dieu. Can we expect new music from Ghislaine Dion in the future?

Actually I am working on something that I'll probably share on social media, but I can't wait to get back onstage.

 

In 2008, the Dion family gave us all an amazing gift when the 14 brothers and sisters got together to sing Quebec music classics such as La Bastringue and À La Claire Fontaine, a moment that will stay in our memories forever. Though Daniel is no longer with us, is there any chance that the thirteen of you will get together again to sing?

I can't give you an answer, but getting all together again would be very special, just like the first time.

 

And finally, what news can you share about your sister Céline? The fans are missing her so much.

I miss her very much too, but she's had to postpone her shows due to COVID. I respect her because I love her.
